Ch 8 – Dark Lord Energy Core?

Finally, I reached the mother ship. I landed between the laser weapons, sending my dragon wings to vanish. The laser beams tried to hit my body, but I used my Mana Shield to protect myself.

The laser beam was powerful, but I was stronger. I was able to deflect the laser beam with my shield while moving forward and using my Fire Skill to destroy the weapons.

'Explosion!'

The explosion destroyed half of the laser weapon, but it was generated right away.

'That thing can be generated by itself?!' I screamed internally in shock. My jaw dropped as my gaze focused on how the pieces went back to the broken machine and self-fixed themselves.

Another laser beam targeted me, I dodged it by flapping my wings, but the second laser came after the first one.

'Mana Shield!' I used my shield to block the laser. I used my fire skill to destroy the weapon, but again, it didn't work. They were generated right away.

This was beyond my prediction. Their technology was far more advanced than I thought.

'Observation.' I decided to use my Observation skill on the laser weapon to search for its weaknesses.

[Name: Mothership Photon Phaser]

[Damage: 250]

[Defense: 100]

[Speed: 100]

[Weakness: Red energy tube in the middle]

I guess that the red tube was their source of power and the reason why they could do self-fixing. In other words, I had to destroy it with one big attack.

'Close-ranged Explosion will take care of it,' I thought. So I had to approach them first one by one before using my skill.

I was about to approach when my eye caught another laser that was aimed at me.

"Damn it!" I cursed. It was too close!

Without thinking twice, I jumped, dodging the laser. When I landed, I had no choice but to use my wings multiple times to avoid the laser.

Finally, I reached one of the lasers. I went to its blind spot and pressed my hand to it.

'Explosion.'

The laser exploded. It created a blast that destroyed it completely; as per my prediction, it didn't generate anymore.

I needed to continue with my plan, so I approached the remaining laser guns. I had to be careful not to get hit by the lasers.

I was approaching the laser, when it fired another laser, targeting me. I dodged it, but the third laser aimed at my back.

'Accelerate.' I used my skill.

[Status: Temporal Acceleration]

[Agility: +150%]

[ Intelligence: +20%]

The laser missed its shoot. I approached the second laser and blew it with my Explosion.

Then I approached the remaining lasers and repeated the process until I destroyed it all.

When I was done, I used my skills for the mother ship.

'Dark Lord Energy Core?' I thought. It was weird since they were cyborgs yet they used some kind of medieval-era thing as their core. Moreover of all things, why Dark Lord energy? Was he already dead a thousand years ago?

Once again, I put away my curiosity and concentrated on my battle. For sure, from its weaknesses, I knew this wouldn't be easy. So I decided to use my ultimate skill, hoping I could penetrate the core.

I went to the very top of the mother ship and put my hand. I decided to destroy it from outside and hoped my skill could penetrate the shipcore.

But before I used it, there was a purple glow coming from the center of the ship. With a flash, I felt something that made my hair stand up.

Then I realized, the mother ship was rotating slowly and yet it was creating a vortex around it, destroying everything.

'So that's how they're protecting themselves!' I thought. 'It's their defense mechanism.'

I focused my mind and tried to use my ultimate skill. But unfortunately, the vortex was too strong.

'Damn! This is way stronger than I thought!'

I needed to find another plan. To think the vortex was so powerful. I was getting desperate. The vortex was spinning faster and faster, destroying everything in its range.

It was too late. I couldn't escape any longer. Now I needed to deal with the vortex.

I focused all my mana into my shield. At the same time, I used my ultimate skill to destroy the ship.

I used my ultimate skill to the mothership. The fierce flame shot from above to the ship, right to the middle of it.

- BOOM!

The loud booming sound echoed in the sky. The flames exploded, causing an explosion that destroyed half of the mother ship.

So I used it again.

'Ultimate Burst!' I used my ultimate skill once more. The second time, the fire exploded even more violently, The vortex vanished and the mother ship was gone with a single blast. Its entire structure was destroyed.

[You have defeated the mother ship!]

"Fiuh! That's so close!" I muttered.

The pieces fell to the forest beneath it, showering the trees like meteor rain. The wind blew violently, I even had to use my Mana Shield again to protect myself from the impact. The destruction caused the forest to turn into a wasteland. Nothing remained beside the scorched ground.

There wasn't anything left. I was floating in mid-air and stayed silent for a moment, staring at the devastation that was left behind. My mouth was wide open as I watched my new surroundings.

'I need to find Shea,' I thought. I could only hope she managed to hide herself well and the impact didn't destroy her hiding place.

I descended to search for her and follow the direction where she went, hoping that I could find her soon. My eyes swept around to find where she was.

Suddenly, I saw a small figure. Something that resembled a big capsule. Half of it was still underground and the rest was on the surface.

'Is she there?' I thought. Without hesitation, I went down to the capsule.
