Chapter 3: Interview

After the legal procedures of filing the cases were done on the same day, I just had to wait for the court's date. I decided I did not want to talk to Alex. We will talk directly in the court.

He will not take much damage, only his reputation will be ruined. And it's not like we were married. Though he still got caught two days before marriage, which begs to question if he had an ulterior motive of marrying me. 

Cheating after marriage is understandable. But cheating before marriage and trying to marry the person you cheated on anyway, that's pretty weird.

The topic has been trending on all social media platforms, and media just can't get enough of this juicy news. I personally felt offended when one of the news showed me as some tragic princess, even though it is helping me.

Mugabe Conglomerate's market value has dropped by 15% in a day. That's huge!

Well, that's what one would expect when trying to fool the world's richest woman and leading Hollywood actress. And if US isn't enough, one of the largest customer base for every company, India has been supporting me.

Afterall, I am from Indian origin as well. 

And Alex's net worth has dropped from the third richest to ninth in Forbes ranking. That's a huge drop for a single day. His net worth is now almost half of me. 

And now, I am going for an interview on a live news channel. I just have to give the last finishing blows before the Court date arrives.

The news anchor gave me a warm smile while shaking my hand. I just gave her a polite smile, not too bright, and went to my seat.

"Thanks for agreeing to come here! All other news channel's must be jealous of us. We are going to get the greatest TRP of some years!"

"You are... welcome?"

I was surprised by her saying all that. If I was not going through betrayal, I would have laughed.

"Miss Urvashi. I know this is rude, but everyone wants to know. What, When, How, Where, Why?"

"You are quite straightforward. I like it. Most anchors talk in roundabout ways and try to twist our words as they please nowadays."

"Yay! I am going to get a promotion today!"

"Pfft! Thanks for cheering me up. It was exactly what I needed. Anyway, for what, I witnessed my soon-to-be husband who was going to marry me in two days fucking his secretary."

"Alex fucked up huh?"

"His secretary."

"So... how do you feel about this whole situation?"

"Though I may not show it, I am deeply hurt. I am an actress afterall. I know how to decide which emotions to show on my face.

But most of all, I am disappointed in myself for not being able to see through his acts. I don't even know since when has he been cheating on me. Why did he approach me?

Look, it would have been okay if he broke up with me. It was okay. We were not married so it was okay. B-but, he was going to get through with the marriage if I hadn't caught him! What are his intentions? Did he just want to uplift the image of Mugabe conglomerate by having 'The World's Richest Woman'? Was he after the large amounts of properties I own?

I don't know. And I don't care. He was having sex with another woman just two days before his marriage, that's all is there to know that he is the worst person I have ever faced in my life. And I don't want to do anything with him. 

And that's why, I am going to my motherland as soon as this situation is dealt with. I don't want to even see the products made by his companies right now."

I just dropped the bomb. Now he will gain even more animosity in the US. It will become even more difficult for him to recover by this.

The anchor was shocked by my statement.

"A-are you going there permant-"

"It's not permanent. Don't worry about that. I just think that it is time for a change. I have been living in US for my whole life till now, so I think I will live in my mother's country for a while.

You know, there is this dish, Dosa. I love it! So I would love to eat those are compare the taste with the Indian restaurants here. Then, everytime I have visited India, Paanipuri and Samose, they have been my favourite. And we don't get them much in US.

And I really want to return to the stage where my mother was, Bollywood. It's not like I am leaving US. US and India are both my homecountries."

"Well, I hope everyone will respect your decisions. But... it's not my opinion, but the facts that India is a poor country. Then there is the caste system... How will you adjust after living in US for your whole life?"

"I think we are deviating from our topic, but I must answer this. Compared to US, India is not at all poor. If my history is correct, India has been the greatest in wealth, trade and military since we know, along with China.

One of the most ancient civilizations, Harappa had 3 or 4 storey buildings, a well maintained drainage system, and they used mineral water for bathing. I am bad with dates, but I think it should have been around 2000-3000 BC? That's about 5000 years old.

Then Alexander the Great, he was defeated by father or grandfather of Ashoka. I think he died there too. Then everyone knows about Ashoka. The funny thing is that The Great Wall Of China was built in fear that he might attack China, when he had given up conquering after a change of heart.

Then it was invaded many time, by Afghans, Persians, and all around the world. Various religious conflicts started showing up since their introductions, many temples with tons of gold were looted and fast forwarding to around 1700, when the last major ruler Aurangzeb was ruling,

The years the rest of the world spent to find the distance between moon and earth, it was already mentioned in the Vedas, which no one knows how old they are.

India is basically the provider of the world. It provided it's basis. 

Then Britain is the lesson for the world, how it did so much horrible things throughout the world that people understood that doing this is right and that is wrong. 

And US is the successor of the world which got everything provided to it, be it the morals and lessons of the world, learnt from it, and is now growing through it as the oldest independent country.

It would not be logical to compare a country which has gained independence for 234 years with the only major conflict between Blacks and Whites, with a country like India which has been the most looted country in the world, and had been independent for only 63 years.

And it still has arguibly the largest amount of gold and in the top 10 country on the basis of GDP by the way, considering it's size.

So, I am saying that between the country which has been the strongest for only 200 years and the country which has been the the strongest for the whole time except last 200 years, you can't compare them.

And one more thing I would like to add. The poverty line that the UN considers is not true for every country. Because the cost of living in the US is too high compared to India, so Indians can live even with less money, while the people in US will die starving if they lived on the same amount-"

Oops! I have rambled too much. I deviated from the topic.

"Sorry for deviating from the topic. But I do hope that your doubts about my motherland has been cleared. Afterall, I don't want my fatherland looking down on my motherland. I respect both, and I don't know why should the people look down on a country which saved their ass during the Depression where they would have collapsed."

The anchor finally looked like she came out of her trance and smiled.

"I sorry about that. But it's been going on through ages, right? My country is better than yours."

"US and India are both my countries. I simply lived with my father US for 20 years, now I am going to live with my mother India for some years. As I visited my mother from time to time when I am currently living with my father, I will visit my father from time to time when I will be living with my mother."

"Right. Anyway, what are your plans moving forward that you are not going to marry? If I may, I have a very sweet brother. How about giving him a chance?"

"Nope. I am not going to see anyone for atleast a year after the betrayal. You know, I have developed trust issues with sweet people now."

"Oh such a shame. Do you want to share anything with our audience through our channel?"

"Well, I would say that please don't cheat with your partners. If you are not married and fell for someone else, talk it through with your partner and properly break up before doing something like Alex, having your partner catch you having sex with someone else. It is traumatizing.

And if you are married, get a divorce first.

And if you are married with kids, divorce in a way that your kids aren't traumatized. You made a bad decision, it shouldn't effect your innocent children.

And be careful about deceptive trashes like Alex. Scums who fuck others like rabbits two days before their marriage. People like that will ruin your life."

"Thanks for coming to us Miss Urvashi. I hope that I will get to have your interviews so that I could get more promotions aftr the one that has been waiting for me today."

"I won't comment on that. I can't have news channels against me, can I?"

"You totally can! Then as your knight in shining armour, I will save you and then marry you!"

"Pah! I don't need a knight for saving myself. I only need lawyers since I neither have I done anything wrong nor am planning to."

"Thank you for watching everyone. News Now will keep giving you the fastest and most accurate news. Until the next program, bye bye!"

Hah! Finally, the interview concluded. Now I wonder if the anchor will really get a promotion, and how much more damage will Alex take, who has been silent till now.
