Chapter 1: (1)Start

-On a small clearing in a forest-

"Looks like we finally got it right" 

A young man let out a sigh of relief while wiping out his sweat. His black hair is messy and curly, coupled with his normal-looking face and tall height he certainly is average in appearance.

" It might work this time" 

Beside him is a gorgeous young lady with black hair and a chubby figure with a small height. ( not fat, there is a difference between fat and chubby)

Before them is an intricate combination of symbols and shapes carved on the ground. 

Without speaking further they stand in the middle and chant. As they chant, the symbols and shapes suddenly lit up. It's so bright and carries in itself a weird sensation of being between reality and fantasy.

Staring at the scene, they started to hug each other in happiness and excitement.

These two people are Lily(male, I know, I just love this name) and Yen( female)

They were once humans from earth, but they met and dated in the realm of the afterlife, but they were punished for offending a big figure. Now they are living as low-level elemental spirits. Fortunately, they didn't waste their time in the afterlife and they study all sorts of things there. In their boredom, they study how to make virtual reality and systems.

The symbols start to spin and rotate around them and start to converge on the center. Like a river, they flow above their head turned into a small ball.

They chant again and the ball split into two and directly flew into their forehead.

Quickly they sit and focus all their energy on assimilating the balls of light. If they failed now, they have to try again and the materials required are hard to get and not to mention scarce.

Suddenly their forms distort and become chaotic. They can no longer maintain their human form as they focus all their energy on absorbing the ball.

They become smaller and change shape, soon they return to their true form.

Lily transformed into a ball of vines and flowers while Yen turned into a white owl with a yellow feather crown. Yes, Lily is a Nature spirit while Yen is a Light spirit.

Slowly it fuses with their souls, but it carries with it great pain. They get closer to each other while vibrating wildly. 

Soon circles of symbols appear with them as the core and the symbols imprinted themselves on their bodies before disappearing.

Lights quickly receded in their bodies and they slowly revert back to their human forms. Big droplets of sweat fall from their skin as they pant with rushed breathing.

Perhaps not giving them a rest, a window appeared on front of them with something clearly written.

They're both surprised and happy. Yen suddenly hugged Lily tight out of happiness. As for Lily, he just pat her head and enjoys it while it lasts.

She finally let him go after a while, but she's still very happy.

"You look beautiful when you're happy"

Lily teased, forgetting about the screen for a bit.

"Shut up, we still need to take care of this"

She jabs his ribs using her elbow and still smiling happily.

"Ohhh I forgot" 

He said and quickly focused his attention on the screen and the letters on it.

*System successfully created*

*Due to the level of complexity, the system is now an entity bound and also out of bound from the hosts*

*Does the host wish to open the system?*

Yen look over at Lily and saw that they got the same stuff.

"Does that mean the system is it's own being?" 

Lily asked

"I don't know"

Yen is also confused

They are both filled with excitement. They also have questions, but they can wait.

"Let's just answer it, there might be answers"

Yen is excited for more knowledge.

"Sure then"

Lily just nobbed.

They both answered "yes" 

A new window popped up on their screen.

By activating the system, your abilities will be fixed to magic abilities and you can only use mana*

*Qi and any other energy will no longer benefit your bodies, in exchange, you will have a mana reservoir in your body to supply mana*

*The amount of mana equal to the level of progress of the newborn system*

*Because of the route the hosts want the system to develop, hosts can no longer control world laws in exchange to control over virtual law*

*Hosts control over virtual laws and its power will be equal to the level of the system*

*Hosts are not allowed to teach the way of making systems to anyone*

*Do you agree?*

They look at each other in silence

"Should we?"

Yen asked with uncertainties

"I'm also not sure"

They keep silent, measuring the benefits and losses. In the end, they choose to accept it.

While what they will sacrifice is huge, this system is equally as important if not more. This system means a new path of progress. They might not be able to teach how to create systems to others, but they can blaze the path forward.

With a deep breath, they looked at each other and said "yes"

Instantly a prompt appeared

*congratulation*

*System successfully activated*

*activating functions*

*functions activated*

*do you want to enter the system now, mom? dad?*

After reading the last part, they can't help but smile awkwardly.

"Is this what they call as to use " protection"?"

Lily wink at Yen

"Shut up"

And so a smack he gets.

Still, they're actually very shocked. They have never been a parent before and so they don't know what to do.

"Our child is inviting us, we better not reject"

He's feeling a bit awkward

"Ok"

They agree to enter and soon they got transported into a huge circular platform with a big screen in the middle. 

The platform itself is floating on a white expanse of nothingness.

They gawked at the sight but quickly got bored of it, it's just a white empty space.

So they quickly focused on the big screen. On it are some words.

*Welcome, mom, dad*

*Changes will now be applied*

*Abilities will now be bestowed*

They quickly turn dizzy and unable to make even a single thought. Soon they fell to the ground.

The World became quiet once again. Light energy gather and formed into a body resembling a 9-year-old girl. She look at them with love and care and the admiration for one's parents.

Her body seems unstable and she's sad because of it. Reluctantly her body dispersed after giving them one past glance.
