Everyone is rushing and moving around, the outside is also full of people killing each other. This is the last day of the event to gather golden leaves and everyone wants to gather as much as they can.

While most are still fighting, some people already have enough and decide to just take their time and protect their golden leaves.

2 of such are Little Xu and Song Nuan who are searching for books in the library. They are searching for anything related to an ancient language and the magic spell for enchanting.

"I found it!"

Little Xu shouted on the side, there are few people in the Library and so it didn't bother many people. They just thought of it as someone who finally have enough coins to buy a magic spell

She immediately lowered her voice after realizing what happened and felt awkward

"What did you find?"

Song Nuan approached her

She showed him the book and he is surprised too.

A screen popped up in front of him that read.

*Learning intermediate skill Custom Property Enchantment required to learn before learning the advanced enchanting skill Blaze Enchant*

*Blaze Enchant

Enchant the effects of fire-related items by 12%-60℅ based on proficiency.*

"Unfortunately we can't learn this, but now that we found this, we should be able to find the others"

A huge list then appeared in front of them. This is a feature in the library when if you find one skill from a skill tree, you can find the others too. It's like that because you can't bother the librarian to look for things for you, he will simply stare at you. There is also no search function since the two find it more rewarding if you try to find the book yourself, tho frustrating.

"That should be it"

Little Xu pointed to the top of the list where skill is listed.

He pats her head and clicked the one on the list.

*Enchant

Enchant anything with mana and give them a better quality

60% chance go fail based on proficiency*

Then after that, another screen appeared pointing at the location of the book.

"You did good"

He smiled at her

"Of course I am, now let's go get it"

She can't contain her anticipation since they have been looking for it for days now.

He simply followed her without saying anything.

After walking for some time, they arrived on the far corner of the library where most books are of higher requirements. The requirements to learn skills here are so absurd that no one bothers to visit this section, and most books here don't belong to any skill trees like the fire summoning which have the requirements where you need to have a huge quantity of mana, more than anyone currently has, even from those focused on mana.

There are two systems for skills on skill trees and skills not belonging to any skill trees. This is something people discovered early on. Skill tree skills can't be upgraded, but you will be able to access higher-level skill variants depending on what path of using the skills you chose to you follow. Skill trees don't just have a few skills, they have likely hundreds of skills following different paths just like how a tree doesn't end on just 3 branches.

The matter on the skills not included on any skill trees is that they are upgradeable and once skills reached level there will be a surprise and the level will reset to level 1 and on and on the cycle continue. No one leveled up their skills to level 10 yet so no one knows.

Of course, you can take the best of both worlds and no one is stopping anyone especially when in this game there are healers that don't even heal at all, they just kill. Also, mages use their staff for smashing heads instead of casting skills, courtesy of a certain old man.

"This should be it"

Little Xu took a book from the shelf before reading the screen that popped out. Instead of the description, it showed the requirements because the system knew they already read the description

*Requirements

A balance between mana quality, eyes, and hand.

9 silver coins*

"The requirement is not that harsh

Can we both learn it?"

She asked

"It's better if we both learn it"

He then took out some silver coins for both of them and the silver coins disappeared into motes of light.

"But that's a lot of silver"

She thinks it's a waste since they could have saved some silvers when only one of them learn the skill.

"It's called an investment, you still have stones with you? We can practice with some"

He calmly replied. Still, she doesn't see any virtue in wasting that much.

"Yeah"

She then showed him her inventory where there were a lot of stacks of stones. The story of these stones is that they use them to disarm traps in the dungeon.

"That's great, let's return to the inn. It's not safe to practice here"

He said. And with that, they returned cautiously to the inn.

They sat on the bed and they have stones for each of them.

"Enchant!"

He finished the incantations and magic circles appeared on the surface of the stone before turning into motes of light

"Failure again"

He sighs before drinking a mana potion.

"Brother Song, take a look at this"

Little Xu passed a stone to him and he checked it

*Normal stone

+1/9 enchantment

+2 hardness*

"You succeed, it seems like you're more talented than me"

He pats her head to her annoyance

"Stop it, I just combed my hair"

She replied before slapping his hand away.

"1 out of 9 enchantments, so does that mean we can enchant something 9 times? "

He just ignored her complaints and smiled

"But the risk is too high, we can't use it yet

But if we succeed, we will have a lot of advantages"

She replied after swatting his hands once again

"You're right, let's continue"

He said, stopping his hands from messing up her hair. She just nodded and continue their work.

As for the outside of the town, still as messy as before, but most are returning to the town to protect their golden leaves.

They are just watching the time, excited for the event to finish so they can get their rewards, still, some are not so satisfied after getting so little golden leaves.

Outside, the morning is nearly there and the two already mapped a fair amount of the area.

Lily stops hidden on a thick branch while Yen is resting atop his head, digging her claw on his soft bark. He doesn't mind since he can always heal himself.

"They are moving, get ready"

Lily said and Yen woke up from her slumber

The ships are arranged in a circle around the ruin and they all start shining. Streaks of light flew from the ships, collided in the middle of the circle, and fused. It has the appearance of a sword with ruins all over its body.

"Good looking sword, what if we get it?"

Yen looked at it with desires, but she can also notice the strong presence on the ships.

"Not now, let's wait for an opportunity to get the sword. If not, let's forget about it, they are too strong"

He replied while careful not to reveal their aura.

"I know"

She replied, a bit disappointed, but she understands the situation.

"Don't worry, we will surely find something worth it inside whatever they are entering, promise"

He said softly with warmth

"You better fulfill that promise or I'll smack you"

She jokingly said, she's not demanding and just fine with whatever they get. Sometimes some treasures are not fated for some people and she is fine with it even tho both of them don't believe in fate. Still, if there is something they need, they are going to wrestle for it.

He just chuckled when he heard it.

Just as they are watching, they heard the still cold voice of Marlyn.

"Mom, Dad, I can sense a boundless amount of wind and fire attribute earthy energy beyond the rift. There might be treasures of the same attributes inside. I suggest entering, getting those treasures will give us an upgrade on the virtual game space"

Their eyes lit up, just what they are missing. They should be able to create more layers and new environments if they get something that has a wind attribute, also new fire attribute items are welcome. Lastly, it is their daughter's suggestion and so they don't mind entering since it's their goal in the first place, their daughter just gave them more reasons to do so.

"Don't worry sweetie, mama will get you some treasures"

Yen said and immediately a screen with a picture trying to smile and also the phrase "Mom and Dad are the best!" On the bottom.

"She's acting like you when we first met now"

If Lily has a mouth, he will be smiling hard.

"She also has your attitude"

Yen smiles warmly

They want to enjoy the moment more, but they don't have enough time as more rifts appeared in the surroundings. One being near them and also big.

They turned serious.

The sword floating in the air started to shake and it shattered. The pieces flew back to the ships and a booming voice was then heard.

"All disciples, get ready to enter the rifts. Now"

And with that, disciples start pouring out from the ships and secured their spot. Fights also started appearing for disciples who want to enter because as soon as some disciples enter a rift, it will close depending on the size thus decreasing the number of spots. The bigger rift is also inaccessible for most disciples since it is reserved for higher-ranking disciples and lower-ranking disciples can only use it after their seniors entered. That is if it is still open.

Seeing the situation, the two make a run for the rift near them before they run out of spots. Lucky for them, most disciples fight for the nearer rifts since it is more abundant in rifts the closer it is to the main rift.

With some hesitation, they jumped in and found themselves in a new world. The rift behind them also turned unstable because of their foreign energy and collapsed. Among the sound of the collapsing rift are screams and bones breaking.

They both feel guilty and awkward.

"Well, it's not like their souls are destroyed, they still have their reincarnation"

Lily awkwardly said, but Yen immediately shut him and pulled him under some thick roots.

Moments later, some disciples passed by and checked their surroundings before continuing.

"We should be careful"

Yen said before curiously coming out of the roots

Lily followed her and he can feel the abundant energy in the surrounding that are rejecting them.

"I can feel the energy flowing to that direction"

Lily pointed to the distance where a giant silhouette of a massive tree can be seen.

Yen looked over and was fascinated. An idea appeared on her head.

Seeing her expression, he asked

"What do you have in mind?"

She replied

"We should take a part of it, normal trees can't grow that big, but if we have something like that tree, we no longer have to bother with tree size limitation"

She excitedly explained.

"Hehe, I thought you only get excited over items, I never thought that trees are included"

He teased her and Yen smacked him before saying

"I'm being serious here"

Lily just laughed and replied

"Fine, let's follow your plan"

And with that, they set off, ready to welcome every enemy they will meet on their data storage.
