Hi, It's me, your protagonist of the story and the one you’ll get to hang out with, whether you want it or not. But that’s okay, I think. Or, well, I’m sorry? Yeah, that's probably it. I'm just your everyday boring, ordinary, dull… crap. I think my vocabulary is too small.
You may ask yourself, why the hell would I read this? Dunno, don't ask me. Anyways, I am a high school freshman and friendless. I mean, can’t the Author at least give me a friend? Come on! One is enough… I swear I'm not lonely…
Ha! jokes on you, dear Author. You were probably a loner in high school too, and that’s why I am a loner! ...Only if it worked like that.
“Hey, Luke! When are you coming down?!”
MOM! You can’t just interrupt my introduction to this wonderfully painful and agonizing story about me never getting a girlfriend!
*Ahem, pardon. All that aside, it’s been 2 weeks since the term started, and I honestly don’t feel like going… I am lazy, you know?
“Luke, I’m coming up if you don’t come down!”
“Yes, wait, I’ll be down soon!” I replied a little halfheartedly. What I mean by that is that I just yelled back. Hahaha. No, I really hope I don’t get in trouble.

Walking down the stairs, I found my mother. She puffed her cheeks and looked at me angrily. Although this may be deceptive, and she looks cute and young, she is in her early 40s, no really. And don‘t even begin to do the math, I swear…
“You’re finally up, jeez! Well, Mommy made a delicious breakfast! It would be a shame if you didn’t eat before school! You’re a growing boy, after all, right Papa?”
“Dear… it’s Sunday.”
My Dad, who was watching the news on TV, just stared at mom. He sipped his coffee, looked at me, and sighed… Oi! Dad, I know I don’t have friends to hang out with on the weekends, don't look at me like that!
“Oh, that’s right! Anyways, Luke, you’re doing morning exercise, so it's good for you either way!”
“... Thank you as always, Mom.”
…That’s right, as Mom says, I exercise because I want to someday get a girlfriend! I’ve studied hard and gotten into a pretty good high school! And from now on, I’ll make many friends despite failing the first 2 weeks miserably!

Or… that’s what I was hoping for… it's currently Monday, and the first period has started. And I was seated as usual. Taking notes and doing what regular students do.
To my left is the remarkable cool beauty, Lilly. She is a little shorter than me and has silver-colored eyes. Her hair was dark as the night, and she was said to be expressionless. But somehow looked more energetic today.
“Do you need anything?” She asked.
Surprised by this, I just stopped taking notes and thought about it. Hmm… why was I looking at her? Eyecandy? She is undoubtedly pretty, but honestly, this school has a lot of cute girls. Even in my class, the girls are top-notch.
“Hm? Oh, well, I thought you looked more energetic today.” I told her honestly.
She would look at me and… what’s this? Is she blushing? There is no way, right? It’s probably just the sun.
“...Yeah, something good happened,” she said with a faint smile.
Oh? See, she can smile like this too, wait? Smile? Damn, that’s adorable. But I’m feeling awkward already. What do I even talk to her about? Should I just move on and say: is that so? Wait, did you actually forget that you wanted to make friends dummy? Isn’t this the perfect opportunity?
“I see. Good to hear.”
Dammit! Cursed me. Why are you asocial all of a sudden? As I was fighting the demons in my head, AKA my thoughts, I dropped my eraser. Lilly happens to see this and picks it up. Her eyes looked at me so innocently, and it kinda made my heart skip a beat.
“Y… you dropped this,” Lilly said while her cheeks had a hint of pink.

I reached out my hand to take it from her, and our fingers accidentally touched. The brief touch was warm, and her fingertips were soft…
“Thank you,” I said, giving her a smile.
Her eyes widened, and she looked the other way. I could see her ears getting red. She’s been acting like this since we became neighbors, and honestly, it's adorable seeing a usually cool girl act like this.

It was now lunchtime, and I was trying to find a place to eat. I mean… Eating in the classroom would just make me feel pity for myself.
Behind the building was a good place that usually wasn’t occupied. Or, well, It was occupied by a cat, it’s cute, and it actually kinda likes me.
“Oh, hi Shu, lonely without me?” I spoke to the cat.
Well, speaking to a cat… I sure am in need of friends; hmm~ Shu is my friend, so that’s fine.
“Meow?” Shu looked at me, tilting its head.
Shu came closer and rubbed its nose on my palm. Cats sure are cute, aren’t they? Anyhow.
“You want some of my food?” I asked it jokingly.
“Meow!” Shu replied energetically.

Haa… I was again in the classroom, and this time, it was math. Looking to my side, I see Lilly. She was as elegant as usual, and the cool air around her screamed tranquility. Or not.
“L-Luke, I seem to have forgotten my textbook. Would you mind sharing yours?” Lilly looked at me.
“Sure,” I replied shortly.
Sitting next to each other sharing a textbook, this is a pretty dreamy situation, isn’t it? I decided to tease her a little. She blushed when our fingers touched, but how would she react if I held her hand?
I placed my eraser close to hers, and if we grabbed it at the same time, that would be perfect. Sometime later, I sensed movement, and Lilly reached for her eraser, but so was I.
Our hands touched. She had a small, warm hand, and it was like I could break them if I put too much force on them. Lilly’s face had turned red, and she looked at me. She then had a face of uncertainty and turned away.
She didn’t pull her hand away, nor did she tell me to withdraw mine. I couldn’t help but grin and let out a small chuckle. She looked at me again.
“Y… you're doing this on purpose, aren’t you!?” She whispers quietly.
“My bad. I thought I’d tease you a little since your reaction is so cute.” I blurted out.
“...”
“Also, your hand is warm.”
Those words were the final strike as she pulled her hand away. She put her palms on her chest and lay down on her desk. As she puffed her cheeks, she looked my way and said,
“Dummy.”
