A few minutes later.

My savior went to work. He rode a cheap car with his thieving scumbag named Toby.

'It should be me who is riding with my partner. It should be me. It's so unfair that they are together. I loath their bromance together!' I gritted my teeth when I glimpsed their happy-looking faces.

To be honest, I had zero trust in his friend, but since my savior treated him as a brother, I endured to stay with this scumbag. I swallowed my pride to maintain the status quo inside this cheap house.

Yesterday, he tried to call for the police to take me away from my savior. Therefore, I used a sleeping spell to silence this thieving dog before he spilled out the beans.

My savior panicked at first, but he heaved a sigh of relief after he checked his pulse on his neck.

I was prepared to face my punishment, but apparently, he told me it was an adequate action.

I was glad he appreciated it.

As the sole daughter of the Adrielle crime family, I received a high class of etiquette studies to keep myself intact. My mentor always reminded me to avoid collaborating with foreign civilian authorities. Our culture and moral standards were different.

Cops in this country were classified as unfriendly agency and an enemy of the big four.

It was better to collaborate with the corrupt police of the Freedom City than with these random civilian enforcers. They could easily get influenced by outsiders, though.

Money could buy people's jobs, but you won't earn their loyalty. Because humans were born with different personality, mindsets and identities.

Whether you were rational or acted irrationally, we always act in accordance with our beliefs.

For instance, humanity won't even dared to move against his principles. The rules and regulations of this world was absolute. But they always made a mistake. Therefore, they would eventually repent in the end after they met their own demise.

Likewise, I feigned no interest in sharing my mission with these random people. My savior was already there for me. He was a very competent partner, and he had a nice smell that I couldn't find elsewhere. And, I couldn't live without it.

'Aah, no, no. This is insane. Not the smell. OMG, pull yourself together. It is not like I like it or something. My gosh, people will find me annoying. I have to stop thinking about it,' I picked a used boxer shorts from the cloth basket and hid them in my pocket.

It was just an item for research purposes. I won't smell it during my sleep, so it was nothing but a sample for experiment. I would buy him a new one. Trust me!

'I will buy him a new one. I will really buy a new one. I'm just doing... doing this for research to discover his mysterious powers!' I swallowed my pride and then, I picked up his used shirt.

Trust me, I would definitely give him a new clothes when we decided to go shopping.

I still needed more time to study under his guidance. This behavior was very common for students who were deeply engrossed in their studies.

Even though I was working as a rookie hunter, I needed to keep my identity in this country.

He was overworking too much. That's not good for his health.

He should take a rest, but he always worked alone to finish the job before anything else. He's really a reliable and competent companion. However, he should consider my feelings too.

I considered him as my partner, but I believed he was thinking otherwise.

By holding his used shirt, I subconsciously sunk my face into it. I sniffed it until I was satisfied.

"Sis, what are you doing?" Latisa called as she tugged the hem of my outfit. I pulled my face away from the shirt. "This... This... This is nothing, but exercise! Latisa, this is an exercise indeed," I explained with a random answer.

She tilted her head to the side whilst she placed a finger on her cheeks.

"Is that Uncle's shirt? Why is his underwear in your pocket, sis?" asked Latisa innocently. "This... This... These are really your uncle's clothes. But... But it's no longer his property anymore. This is mine now. Mine," I responded with a shaky lip.

"But that's a male shirt, sis," Latisa was confused. "N-n-not anymore, sweety. Oh, yes, how about we watched your favorite channel today, huh? I'm sure our little Latisa is excited about it, right?" I tried to change the subject. "Oh, nice. I want to watch Princess Novel!" Latisa rejoiced upon hearing it.

'Good. She is no longer going to ask about it. Thankfully, she's still a child. Phew, that was close,' I heaved a sigh of relief.

I tossed his clothes into my own basket, so she wouldn't question them anymore.

I grabbed the hand of the child, and we headed to the sofa. I picked up the remote and opened the television.

My eyes opened wide when the news appeared instead.

The 51'st floor of a civilian building was engulfed in dark smoke. Witnesses stated the cause of this incident was a technical failure of their appliances. Thankfully, they reported zero casualties in the accident. The civilians and the staff employees received mild injuries.

Despite the place looking stable, the building needed to be closed down temporarily.

'What a dumb reason. There's no way people will buy that story. It is definitely a cause of a human,' I commented inside my head.

"The police department advised the civilians to stay away from the area next to the building, one hundred meters away from its economic zone. There is a chance that it might collapse. But the president of the building reassured me they will fix the problem immediately, so the citizens of Werrist Town could still enjoy the service provided by their company," the newscaster reported with a smiling face.

'Who would even attack a civilian building anyway? A terrorist?' I was confused.

"Sis... Sis... Princess Novel. Princess Novel, please!" Latisa tugged the hem of my outfit again to get my attention. "Oh, right. Right," I changed the channel to her favorite series.

I was about to take a short nap, but I heard a ringing tone inside my bag. It was a phone call.

'Who might it be?' I asked.

"Latisa, keep watching, okay? Stay here. Your big sister Helena will pick up something from her bag, huh? I'll be back, sweety," I petted her head and stood up from the sofa. "Okay," Latisa responded with smiling teeth. Then, she shifted her attention to the television.

I headed to the table where my bag was located. I zipped it out and picked up my android phone.

'Oh, it's dad,' I simpered.  Then, I clicked the answer button.

"Hello, dad. Good morning," I greeted, smiling. "Oh, thank God. Thank goodness, you're alive!" Daddy cried happily.

'Jeez, you're embarassing me, daddy,' I scratched a hand on my chin.

"Dad, calm down. Of course, I'm alive. Where do you think I inherited this ability anyway?" I pounded a fist on my chest. "Of course, it's from your mother and father, though. I'm very happy you sound okay and healthy. You're really a daughter of the Adrielle family," Daddy stated with a thrasonical tone.

'Oh, daddy. I'm so touched,' I was glad.

"How are you today? Are you in a safe place right now? Did you eat properly? Are you having trouble during your sleep at night? Please answer me," Daddy trilled, so I couldn't find a chance to answer. "Calm down, dad. I'm fine. I'm in a safe place right now," I answered politely.

He remained quiet for a few seconds before he replied.

"I heard about the incident in Samoa. I received intel that you were riding in the hijacked plane two days ago. Is that right?" Daddy inquired. "Yeah, dad. But the plane is no longer in danger. It is safely landed in its destination, though," I clarified.

"But... But sweety, you should consider your life first next time. I couldn't believe you were going to ride a cheap plane instead of my private plane, though," Daddy heaved a tiring sigh. "But dad, your private plane was stolen by a group of B-Class criminals. I just luckily survived because of my savior, though," I explained briefly.

"Your savior? Who is this savior you are talking about?" Daddy queried. "Hey, dad, are you mad? You sound angry right now," I replied with a worried tone. "Oh... Ho, I'm not angry or something, sweety. I just want to know who is this savior you are referring to, my dear," Daddy responded with a shaky voice.

"Dad... Your voice is stumbling a bit. I couldn't hear it properly. Are you okay?" I worried. "Oh, I'm fine. Very fine. Now tell me, what is his name? Please I insist," Daddy requested.

'What's wrong with my dad?' I was confused.

"His name is Holmer Aldnoa, dad," I happily introduced my savior. "Hol... ver .... Holver Arnoa? Did you just fuckin' say his name is Holver Arnoa? The fuckin' son of a bitch is still alive? Oh my God. You gotta be kiddin' me. For fuck sake, you got to get out of there, sweety. That guy is a dangerous person!" Daddy panicked.

"W-w-wait, dad. You heard it wrong. His name is not Holver. It pronounces as Hol. Mer. Not Hol. ver. It's Holmer Aldnoa~," I corrected. "Oh... sorry. I thought I could kill him immediately," Daddy clicked his tongue.

'Why are you finding a reason to kill my savior anyway? Daddy, you're weird. That's not healthy, you know,' I heaved a tiring sigh again.

"By the way, I would like to apologize if I put your life in danger. I didn't know there are enemies who would hunt you down too," Daddy apologized. "It's fine, dad. You don't have to apologize for it. Let's stay positive, okay? Believe it or not, I'm not even fazed about it. That incident opens my mind to face reality. That I, Helena, need to accept my discrepancies. You know what? Your daughter luckily glimpsed a wonderful show in her entire life, you see," I explained promptly.

"Glimpse a wonderful show of what?" Daddy inquired. "Remember the name of my savior? That man demonstrated a powerful God-tier spell in front of your daughter. Kyaaa, it is such a blast. He was so cool when he did that. I love it. I love his smell very much," I was overjoyed upon remembering the sensation at that time.

"Pardon? Did... Did... D-did I hear you loved his smell, my dear daughter?" Daddy was confused and a bit worried upon hearing it. "Aah, no, no, you heard it wrong. I said I love his spell. Not smell," I corrected it immediately.

"Aaah, great. Great. But I really heard on this phone the word, smell, you know. But never mind. Where are you at right now?" Daddy questioned. "Oh, no, you got it wrong. You incorrectly classified it ealier. Hehe~. Oh, by the way, I'm in Werrist Town, Los Angeles. It is an urban town located in California, USA," I answered briefly.

"Oh, I heard that place before. It is a highly developed community in the United States. By the way, are you living in an expensive apartment?" Daddy quizzed. "Uh, eh, uh, yes. I mean no. I'm in a big house. It looked very expensive, and it's an affordable house. It doesn't look cheap, dad," I lied with a shaky lip.

"Unaffordable house, huh? That's great to hear. I'm glad you are living in a million-dollar safehouse," Daddy cackled. He misheard it, but I feigned no mind. "Ah, yes. Yes, daddy. I'm glad you like it," I nodded, smiling.

"I'm sorry if I sent a weak escort. I will make sure this will never happen. Oh before I forgot, I received a call from my colleagues that your plane crashed in the forest of Southern Werrist Forest, the notable virgin forest," Daddy giggled. "Oh, that's the name of the place we landed, huh? But after what happened, the word virgin should be removed from its title, hehe~," I placed a finger on my chin as I reminisced about the scenery of the place.

But I remembered the warm and smooth voice of my savior. For no apparent reason, I screamed in joy inside my mind.

'Kyaaa, I don't understand. But I love it. It is not I like him or something. I just cannot help to feel elated about it,' I fanned my head to calm myself.

"The agency will send me a copy of their investigation later. I will share the intel once I'm done reviewing it, sweety," Daddy promised. "T-Thank you. I appreciate it, dad," I simpered.

"Anyhow, when will you come back? The school is about to resume two weeks later, you know," Daddy asked. "Oh, right. Right, I almost forgot about it. But don't worry, I'll be there after I'm done with my assignment, dad," I assured.

"I read the files of your targets. All of these three people were B-Class, you know," Daddy worried. "Don't worry, dad. I got this," I reassured.

"My dear daughter, please remember. Value your life. I know you were bored, but keep in mind that you're a girl, okay?" Daddy soothed. "Noted, dad. I'll keep it in my mind," I confirmed.

"Eh? What the fuck is going on?" Daddy was astonished. "Eh? Eeeh? Daddy, what's wrong?" I inquired eagerly. "The... The... The targets turned red. I mean, their profile pictures were crossed out and marked as dead. According to the record, an investigation team found the two corpses of your targets, Brandon The Fire Speed and Daphney the Octopi. Whoa, this is blowing my mind right now. There is only one explanation for this wonderful news. You defeated them, right? Well done. As expected of my daughter, you defeated them at once. I'm so proud of you," Daddy was bewildered by the news.

'Oh, no. I don't want to take the whole credit. I need to share all of it with my savior,' I affirmed.

"Oh, we did it," I mumbled. "Huh?" Daddy was curious. "We defeated them together. My savior and I killed them all," I confirmed.

"Say what? This Holmer Aldnoa assisted you?" Daddy was very confused. "Yes, but all of them died because of his overwhelming strength. No, it's more immeasurable power that a weak person like me couldn't comprehend with a single glance. His power is incomparable, dad," I proudly proclaimed.

"You're tripping," Daddy fretted. "Of course, I'm not. I'm not tripping. Believe me," I reassured.

"Okay then, I'll believe in you," Daddy surrendered. "Thank you very much, dad," I kissed the phone happily.

"By the way, I have good news for you. Your last target is declared dead this morning. I still have no idea how and why it happened. But apparently, the secret magical jewel that was installed inside his heart had stopped sending them information about his vitals," Daddy informed. "Eeeh? But that's my target. Maybe my target discovered the jewel, so he made a decision to remove it from his heart, though," I shivered in shock.

"Helena, I guess it is about time for you to come home. I received new information from our informant who was apparently stationed in your location that his body was found dead inside the Fly High Institute," Daddy spilled and tried to comfort me. "Eh? Are you sure? Because that's the name of the building that I saw on the news earlier," I was astonished.

"Eh? Yes, I'm not joking, my dear. Apparently, his corpse was found in that building. Since it is owned by a billionaire, the world government tried to cover it up. It might be sounded like a joke, but he terrorized the place for money. According to investigation team, they presumed he was killed by a vigilante group or something. However, the witnesses denied their assumptions. One of them stated he went insane and committed suicide," Daddy cackled.

"But dad, do you buy that story? That's impossible for him, you know. B-Class criminals have standards," I vacillated. "Of course, I'm not buying it. That's really ridiculous. I don't know why he did it, but who cares about it? At least, you can now return to our place. Two criminals are enough for you to receive a promotion at the hunter's ranking," Daddy prompted.

But I remembered something.

'No, it can't be. Don't tell me... My savior, you lied to me!' I pouted.

"Daddy, add it to our achievement. We killed him!" I snapped. "Huh? Eh? Why are you angry, Helena?" Daddy faltered. "Add it. That idiot gave me a priceless gift again. I know he doesn't want to put my life in danger, but he risks his life to finish it for me. My gosh, I hate it. I hate his kindness and selfless action. I couldn't believe this!" I waved my hands up and down multiple times with a blushing face.

'Mooo~ I hate you, my savior. I hate you!' I screamed in an elated tone inside my head.

"Helena, I don't understand. Don't tell me you guys stopped this terrorist?" Daddy inquired. "Yes, we did it. But it is Sir Holmer Aldnoa who finished the operation alone. Mooo~ he said he is going to work, but I didn't expect him to act alone. I was deceived again. But I love to receive this good news. Jeez, he's really a workaholic! Mooo~" I waved my hands up and down again angrily.

"M-m-my dear, congratulations. Both of you have performed an incredible job. Well done. Despite the overwhelming number of enemies, you secured the place and saved the president of the Fly High US Tech company. But remember this. Keep in mind that you are still in high school. Don't fall for that guy, okay?" Daddy requested. "Are you jokin', dad? I won't fall for that guy. He is too old to become my lover. I would rather date a handsome and influential man of my age rather than that unattractive human. My gosh, check his profile to open your mind. You will understand that your daughter won't become a lover of that person!" I snapped again.

"Okay, calm down. I, I believe you. Relax. Phew, I am glad to hear it. Anyway, I will inform the agency about this. Stay where you are, and stop doing something risky. I'll give them a beacon to track you and escort you back to Freedom City.  Stay safe. By the way, your mother missed you so much, so eat well. Farewell. See you soon," Daddy reminded with a soothing voice. "Thank you, dad," I nodded.

My father hung up his call.

"Daddy, you jerk. I won't fall for that guy. He's out of my league. No, I'm out of his league. He looks like a bleak and poor man. And his face is not even my type. Yuck. Hmph, he's a jerk like you dad," I pulled out my savior's handkerchief and sniffed it subconsciously.

My pupils slowly turned into hearts upon smelling its odor.
