As the crow flew, Ethan gazed upon the land and all of its beauty, having left his helmet off since it felt better to be able to see properly, and the crisp clear air was something great.
The crow lowered towards Firelink, the main bonfire in the game as he let go of the foot, landing easily, he walked towards the middle, raising a hand and setting it onto the sword it burst with flames as it roared to life, energy pulsing from it and outwards across the land.
[Another influx of time energy Operator... It seems your branch theory might be correct.]
'Good to know.'
Focusing on the bonfire, he felt the energy within him begin to spread, the energy seemed that it wanted to be guided so he did just that, distributing this power equally across his body as a whole.
[Are you aiming for a 'Quality' build Operator?']
'My stats will not matter much overall, so if I am to use this soul energy to increase my strength as I progress, I will spread it evenly. Because of my training, it's easy to manipulate this energy, but it will stay in this world unless I want it back. As I said before, every time I experience a different world, I will leave the power I gain in it behind. I can grab it if I ever need to of course, but I would rather spend my pseudo-immortal life experiencing things to its fullest.'
[Of course Operator, I am glad to see you enjoying yourself.]
Ethan chuckled before he looked up to look at the only other person currently in the shrine he could see, a man sitting away from the bonfire, his eyes dead as the man seemed to have all the hope drained from him.
[Operator... Is this how they end up?]
'Most, yes... He is lucky that he decided to settle in his final moment, it might be the only thing keeping him going, the peace offered by the fire.'
[Is... Is there a way we can save him, Operator?]
'Give him hope... In the game, he speaks about ringing the bells, after you do so he ends up gaining some hope, but you end up finding him turned hollow later.'
[Turning Hollow doesn't sound like saving him Operator.]
'Ordis, speak freely. Do you wish me to save these people? They are now real, living, and breathing people. Some might not be able to be saved, too deep in their own cycle to be taken from this world's laws.'
[Can you at least save some of them? Those you can? They can be put to use somehow I'm sure.]
Ethan rumbled softly, chuckling as he shook his head. 'I'll do my best Ordis, but I am no hero.'
He took a final look at the warrior for a moment before he simply nodded to him, turning to walk off towards the Undead Burg

[How do you plan to save him, Operator?]
'First? Ring the first bell, then speak to him. See if I can't get more information out of him than the game originally had, what I want to find out is his name, since I know he doesn't have one in the game originally. Once I get what I can, I'll then ring the second bell and then talk to him, that's when my plan will begin.'
He made his way past the undead easily, the only annoying thing was the one who threw firebombs, but that was easily solved when Ethan just threw another undead at him with enough force to throw them both off the edge.
This rollercoaster continued until he reached the Taurus Demon, Ethan scratched his chin as he watched the demon standing on the tower.
''You think he just sits up there all day? Waiting on someone to come through? What happens when he kills them... Does he just, climb back up?''
[I am unsure Operator, but he has noticed you, but he makes no movement towards you.]
''Maybe, because the game is no longer an effect, it is instead held up by certain magics? So some things won't work until a certain threshold is passed. Like a sort of trap?''
[That could make sense Operator, shall I begin deep scanning the planet for these energies?]
''Go ahead, might as well. Might discover something neat.''
[Of course Operator.]
Ethan stretched a bit before he rushed forward, drawing the longsword he was supposed to start with from his inventory he pulled back his arm and threw it forward, hitting the Taurus Demon as he fell, continuing to run forward he leaped towards it, sticking the sword of Astoria into its chest.
Dragging the blade across its chest and then up around its neck until he was on the back of the large demon, he racked his blade down its spine before dropping behind it.
The demon roared in pain, swinging recklessly before it swung to wide, causing the large demon to lose its balance as it fell off the wall, Ethan ran forward and jumped onto it as it fell, grabbing the sword stuck in its stomach before kicking off it and landing back onto the wall.
[Impressive Operator, it seems you are adept at fighting creatures bigger than yourself.]
''Honestly, it's quite easy, a lot of these things were made for a normal human, to gain strength as they progressed. But I'm starting at a strong level. I'm also a space ninja, so.''
Ethan scratched at his chin as he continued to walk through, once he came to the bridge with the dragon he instead took a left, coming to meet one of the fan favorites in the game, Solaire of Astora
(Just a quick note, this series is not the main series I am working on, and due to how I'm doing it requires more time and effort to actually put out a chapter.
