PROLOGUE
Previously on Warhead: Origins

The Awakening—the most anticipated news from Dracier-Bio Tech had everyone on the edge of their seats looking forward to a breakthrough in bio-engineering technology. Liam Chago and Rachel Henderson were among the thousands of people patiently waiting for the digital mega screens to flicker in Watch Square, Roe City, where a news station would broadcast the discovery live. Little did they know, The Awakening was nothing they could have expected.

The event was memorable for all of the wrong reasons, when a bio nuke fell from the sky and took the lives of many, while turning others into super humans. Men in hazmat suits dropped into Watch Square in a heartbeat, taking those turned into custody, to be the future heroes the nation immediately needed.

The Brother’s Code, a crime-fighting agency, made quick work of wrangling super humans to protect and serve humanity. For each super human, there was a contract attached, the organization abiding to various agreements as payment for supe obedience and performance. These super humans were desperate, and in a time of calamity and uncertainty, some wanted security for their loved ones, while others wanted protection for themselves.

As for Liam Chago, he wanted something special, because he was the eye of the storm.

For years, Liam had been a victim of a long line of experimentation by a research company known as Sigma-RE. During the near two decades of being a guinea-pig to their inhumane experiments, Liam had no idea where he was or who they were. Three years from current date, he was lucky and made an escape, by blowing up the facility with his nuclear powers. Liam was special, Liam was a weapon, and Liam knew this, one of the little memories he had left from his enemies screwing with his head.

He made a home with Rachel Henderson, the 19 year old girl who had found him by some dingy train tracks off Roe City. And now, The Brother’s Code shed some light into his dilemma, classifying Dracier-Bio Tech as a cover up for Sigma-RE, and the fact that he was deemed an extraterrestrial being.

For his servitude, TBC promised Liam, AKA Warhead, revenge for his many years of torture. They also promised him Rachel, the family that he lost at the time of the bio nuke blast. Everyone in TBC understood that Dracier-Bio Tech was looking for them, because the mission for Dracier is clear—controlling and producing more supes.

The particular reason for this mission remained unclear, besides the fact that Sigma-RE had reason to believe that an outwardly threat would reach them and destroy everything and everyone. So Warhead and his team of three girls: Dessi, the sweet kind-hearted mind-weaver, Aster, the feisty spider demoness, and Rynn, the ivory-haired weapon’s forger, train and ran field missions to protect civilians from supe mobs, supe trafficking, and more serious organizations like the Syndicate of Sorrow, the top threat to The Brother’s Code.

Locking up criminal supes and their reg enablers was the name of the game, but relieving hot zones and taming bad trades came at a price. The time constraint made learning to become true super heroes failed many TBC super teams, resulting in questionable supes wearing the hero badge. Warhead watched as Draco killed super villains for fun, and watched how terribly The Tank was crippled from his own overinflated ego, nearly causing major casualties in a rescue mission. But that wasn’t to say that Warhead didn’t have his personal problems, tackling his own guilt for causing so many deaths and changes in this nationwide affair.

Not to mention, trying to control the ticking nuke bomb burning in his chest…

What’s worse, Warhead believed that the organization sworn to protect humanity had its own secrets, running unethical operations behind closed doors.

The contract he signed was a barrier between him and tackling any doubts he had about TBC. The punishment for falling out of line in a performance-based industry was forfeiting all promises made to him, and it could even jeopardize the provisions on the contracts for the girls he adored on his team.

Remaining on the top super hero charts was a necessity. Between managing his harem relationships and keeping on his toes with the triple threat—SOS, Dracier-Bio Tech, and TBC, Warhead had his hands full. And when everyone had their eyes on this mysterious secret underneath the foundation of a bank in Watch Square, there may be more problems brewing for these rookie super heroes.

Could the Warhead team level up fast enough to oppose this upcoming threat?

The reason for staying despite TBC's harsh methods is what they will all individually receive in their contracts, and the training they can get from the facility. The motto, take what you can get now resonates with the MC and his team of ladies.

Fair warning though, there are some triggers in both books. This isn't a ftb series, and there is plenty of gore and heavy language. If that's okay with you, then dive right in!
