Chapter 12: [12] Assassin Failed

I still haven't feel tired as i trained in the forest while Lena was sleeping comfortably in the log. I eventually got bored of training and wander around in the forest just finding something to make me entertain for a while. 

*What should i do now?*

I wonder myself as i walk around the forest looking for something to eat. I stumble upon a boar as it spotted me and run away just by looking at me.

*This is weird, they mostly never run away from me as they tend to charge at me with full force? But this one is running away, Is there something going on in the forest?*

I decide to ignore the fact that they are running away from me as i throw my small knife with precise aim at the head killing it instantly and stoping it from moving as the body fall down on the floor.

*Hmm this should be good enough*

I carried the large dead boar unbeknownst that there are Blaze assassin on my tail right now. I came back to the base and began cooking some food for Lena when she decide to wake up right now. Until a familiar panel show up infront of my face.

[Hey Im back!]

*System? Is that you?*

[Yes Silly. Did you perhaps miss me?]

*I was really worried when you wasn't talking yesterday. What happen yesterday?*

[I don't know really. Maybe i had an shutdown. Maybe i unlocked a new function?]

*Okay then*

I open up my status window and look around if the system gain a new function or something, and i found it as it has shiny golden text.

[You have gain 2 new skill]

[Soul Consume: Consume an soul that is weaker than you. Consuming a soul increase your strength and exp]

[Transform: Can change your appearance between the original form or the human form]

*I understand about the soul consume skill as it will be useful for me later on*

*But why Transform? Is that even useful for battle?*

[I don't know. Don't ask me]

*Might as well keep it later for future use.*

[Aren't you gonna do something about those suspicious person behind that tree?]

*Don't worry i already know their location when i check the mini map*

[Okay then]

As i stand there waiting for them to strike me. The 2 assassin that was on my tail finally strike as they launched themselves toward my back with knife in both of their hand. 

When the assassin think they got me, I block them with my own sword and push both of them back. The assassin was  surprise to see someone saw them through their high level stealth. I decide to strike as they was still surprised slicing through one of them as the other regain their composure and starting to attack again.

*This is weird. Why are there another race here*

[Well in this world, there are elf, beastman, lizardman and dwarf. You rarely see other race here as they tend to hate the marsh asphere and landscape as they tend to like dry land with greenery around them]

*That is indeed pretty weird, i should ask them "nicely" to give me information about the outside world. Maybe i can gain more knowledge about this world as i live inside the village all my whole life*

There is something that bothering me about the 2 assassin, they have very great teamwork as they sync with each other weaknesses. Even if i was struck, it was like a scratch toward me as i hardly felt any pain from their attack. 

They still haven't gave up and keep barraging me with attack as i just sit there defending with no sweat at all, as they become even angrier as i just block it without attacking at all. I sigh as i felt bad seeing them how much they wanna kill me.

So i stopped playing around and take this thing seriously this time as i cast every buff on myself giving me the aura of a dragon making me the predator of those assassin as they look at me like im some kind of a boss. I didn't gave them a second to breath as i launched myself into them with sword in hand crashing to a rock as a result.

"How do you like this now huh?"

I shove my claw toward their face as i hold onto both of their head and began banging it to the rock violently every second.

"Now do you wanna spill the bean about to who hired you?"

"..." The assassin stay silent to not answer my question even if i bang their head violently repeately.

"So you are gonna take painful path aren't you?"

"!!" 

I lift both of their body with my hand alone and pressing hard against their neck as they slowly become as they can't even breath a single air. They were super loyal to whoever commanding them as they were super adamant on keeping the information safe even if their life on it stake

"So i guess this is useless huh? Still don't wanna spill it?"

[Torture them endlessly!]

"I can have fun torturing you guy endlessly. My friend here has a healing skill, i can break off your finger and heal it everytime you don't wanna talk. Got it?"

"!"

I hold one of the assassin and force it to lay down on a rock as the other one i tied up with the item i got from the system shop making it unbreakable. 

"LENA! look who i got here?"

Lena was woken up by my yelling and look around to see me with my hand on top the intruder head. Lena walk up to me confusely.

"Um Brother, So who is this man?"

"They are assassin, they was hired by someone that want to us killed. Im still not sure who hired them so i wanna ask you to help me by  healing them as i break their finger one by one alright?"

"!" 

Lena was surprised that i actually caught 2 assassin on my own. 

"No way! Did you actually caught both of them?"

"Yeah i did"

"Okay, i will now cast the healing spell now everytime you broke the assassin finger"

"!!!" The assassin was even more shocked and start sweating heavily.

I looked at him with my fierce eye and my massive grin as i looked over him with Lena joining too. If i were a normal human, i would shit my pants right now.

The assassin try to fightback my hand to no avail as i was stronger than them before i began cracking their finger one by one.

*Crack!* *Crack!*

"Heal!"

The assassin trying to hold the pain as i crack every of his finger. His body began moving on it own due to the pain accumulating on his brain.

The torture went for 10 minutes before he speak a single word. The assassin mumble in a painful voice with tear running down on his fur.

"Stop it please! I will spill everything. But please spare my life"

"Hmm."

Lena gave him a heal so he can speak without stuttering as he explained to me who hired him. 

"To be honest, i don't even know the name that hired me to kill you. But i did accidentally heard Blade when i was leaving the hut"

As i expected, look like that rascal father was trying to kill me for his son humiliation on the round beforehand. Lena walk up to me pointing her finger toward the assassin head.

"So Bro, what should we do about the assassin now? Are we gonna release them?"

"Just kill them"

"!!!" 

"You promised me that you would release me when i gave you the information!"

"I never said i would accept it tho?"

"YOU BASTARD!!!"

The assassin felt betrayed as Lena kill both of them with ease with scream heard. Im not sure if it my eye or not, a sudden red aura appear on top of them as they died.

[Try using your soul consume skill]

*Right. I should showcase the new skill i got now*

I walked up to the corpse and shouted the skill name.

"Soul consume!"

The red aura was sucked into my hand as i can feel the exp and power coming from them.

[You have gain 1 level from the soul]

*This skill is quite powerful! If i keep doing this, doesn't that mean i will become the strongest in no time?*

[Maybe]

I went ahead and consume the other assassin giving me 1 more level making me level 59 now, i would say im progressing smoothly with system by my side. Lena stand there confusingly when i bring my head on top of them and chant some weird magic, i don't want her to find out about my mysterious helper so i did the strat where it always work 100%.

"Oh Lena, You must be hungry from the sleep. Let's eat some meat stew!"

"What is this sudden request? But hey! im not gonna complain. Meat stew for life!"

Lena was jumping happily back to the base as i walk normally.

*Blade POV*

"Why hasn't the 2 assassin come back yet?"

Blade was standing there impatiently waiting for them to come back while his teammate sit beside Blade. 

Blade magic device ring out as blade father silhouette appeared.

"So Son, did you manage to kill him?"

"I don't know! They haven't even comeback for a hour now! Im getting really impatient"

"Hmm that weird, they are usually my loyal subordinate. They don't really disappear mysteriously."

"Im getting sick of waiting! I wanna punch that green bastard real bad!"

Blade was walking in circle angrily.

"Forget it, Im searching for that bastard. I don't need those useless helper"

"No Son! just wait until i send mor-

Blade cut off his father call with frustation.

"Heyya you roasted lizard!"

Blade and the red lizardman look at up to see 2 green scales figure standing on top of the cliff.

"Did you miss me?"

"LACERTUS!"

Blade was angrily yelling at me when he look at my grinning face.

"I will kill you!"

"Try me then?"

*Before the present*

I cooked more of the stew as they ate it whole making Lena full as a balloon while system just spam the message saying how much delicious it was.

[Delicious!]

[Savory!]

[Beautiful!]

*Can you stop doing that? It so annoying!*

[I can't it too delicious! Did you add something new to the stew?]

*Oh i just added my special spice i made*

After we had fill our tummy to the max, i walk to the forest looking at my mini map all the time. 

"Um bro, why are you looking at the ground?"

"Ah uh. I was just looking for footprint"

"Alright then"

I walk until i finally spotted 4 red dot appear in my mini map just few yard away. I sprinted there with Lena in hand to the location to see Blade and the red member sitting on some log and standing with a campfire in the middle. 

*Let's make my surprise appearance!*

[Let's go!]

*Back to the present*

"Lena target the mage next to them! I will hold off their defender!"

"Yes bro!"
