Chapter 11: [11] Team Battle

The third round has started as i prepare my equipment. System has been asleep now for some reason. I still can access the system page but he has been not talking lately. All the contestant has been glaring at me intensely lately. Especially Blaze with eye that could burn a forest. I paid no mind to them and headed to the trial.

I heard some of the tribe member talking in secret behind my back.

"Hey let's target the green tribe. They are super dangerous to our reputation. Does it make sense to know that the green tribe suddenly became the number 1?" The red horn member spoke

"I agree. We should all target green scales." The blue teeth member spoke 

"But what happen if we managed to defeat the green tribe. What about us. Will we fight each other?" The yellow tail member said with nervousness.

The talk went super silent as Blade end the awkward silent. 

"That pretty much it"

The other tribe knew even if they defeat the Green scales tribe. Black claw tribe will sure rise to the top.

The round work somewhat like this. Every contestant team will be transported in a large forest where team are separated in the large forest. The announcer gave us bracelet if there was alot of force happen on the body. The bracelet will absorb the damage and break. If the bracelet broke then it game over as the mage in the tournament teleport to save you. There will be still monster appearing but less likely to spawn. 

"Good Luck contestant. Who will came for the top?"

All the tribe entered the gate as the onlooker look. The same thing happened with this trial. I appeared in a forest with Lena in arm. 

"Wake up Lena. We need to get moving. No time to waste!"

Lena woke up from my voice surprised.

"Ah yes bro!"

We travel the forest looking for every surrounding as monster appear near us.

"Hmm so far no contestant. Let's get moving before they band against us"

I killed the monster that get in our way as we walked near the outskirt. As countless monster died by my hand we finally stumble upon the Blue teeth tribe member as they try to find Black Scales team to group up.

"Lena. Try not to get covered while you charge your magic."

"Yes bro!"

Lena run to the spot where she start charging her magic as i get ahead of them with my back shown to make them think i was distracted with something.

The Blue Teeth tribe spotted me and began hiding in the surrounding. It appear they are preparing a plan to take me out. They probably thought i was alone making me a easy target. 

"Perfect. He is alone! This is gonna be a perfect target."

The blue dude began to try to sneak attack me. As i didn't know about it as he jump to strike me in the next. I deflect it with my sword. The blue lizardman was surprised and back down. The blue lizardman appear to stand there until i notice he is waiting for his friend to cast a spell on me. I signal Lena to strike the mage now.

"Hup!"

A fireball was launches on the Mage position. Canceling the spell that mage trying to cast.

"No way! They knew our plan! We need to retreat and find the group"

"Wait for me!"

The 2 Blue lizardman tried to run away immediately to try to regroup with the group. 

"Mei! Run now"

Lena cast a icicle infront of the 2 lizardman blocking their path.

"God damn it! We are going to get killed by that mage. Mei! You target that mage as i try to fight the lizardman"

The blue lizardman prepared to attack me as the mage prepared a standoff.

"You shall not pass me!"

The blue lizardman where i will call Jake now launches his dagger against me.

Jake mostly has skill that is related to his class. The thief or the assassin class are class specializing in stealth and speed.

As he launches at me. He throw mini mana knife at my direction, They are stronger than a iron knife. Jake disappear into thin air and appear behind my back

"I got you now!"

*Hardened Scales*

*Cling!* 

The dagger was reflected off my scales. 

"No way! That was the strike i put all my strength into!"

Jake face was filled with fear as i approach him.

*Strengthen*

"Stay back!"

Jake was trying to scare me off with the dagger as i strike his tummy with my fist as hard i can until he was launched to the wall. A bunch of grey dust appeared on Jake as it eventually dissipate to reveal a injured Jake.

"Jake!!" The blue lizardman mage cried out to see his ally already been defeated.

We tied both of them up with a makeshift rope. The Jake woke up to see the bracelet has been broken apart signified that he has lost.

"You monster!"

The blue lizardman was screaming loudly at us. He wasn't able to accept the defeat.

The mage appeared next to them and take Jake away outside the trial. Lena was very tired from the walk and battle. I gave her some health potion and mana potion to not feel tired anymore.

"Whew that was quite a hassle. We have to move right away before they regroup and band together to attack us."

"Okay..."

* Blade POV*

|Master! The blue tribe has been defeated by the green tribe. Did you manage to regroup up yet?|

The call was from the Blaze father henchman

"How did the blue tribe already been defeated? We only managed to regroup with Red but no sign of Yellow right now"

The call was change to Blade father.

"You must win this battle! Prove them that we are superior than the green tribe. I will you provide you with 2 assassin to help you defeat the green tribe. We also bribed the mage so they will never rescue the green scales tribe. It was unfortunate that the judge aren't effected by Money." 

" Yes father. I will defeat the green tribe"

Blade hang up of the Magic calling device and began to become angry

"Lacertus!! How dare you!"

As Blade scream in frustration.

* Back to Lacertus*

We walked with our two feet until Lena can't caught up with her stamina as i allow her to rest in a stump nearby as i went try to find any of the tribe contestant.

I walked to the plain as i see the Yellow Tail tribe fighting with some monster which include Ogre, Jackal and Goblin.

"Augh! Just how many monster is this. It feel like neverending!" The yellow mage screamed out

"Im not sure! We have to wait for the black claw tribe!"

Hmm this is the perfect opportunity to strike them out. I goes back to get Lena.

"Lena i found some of them in the plain. They are distracted with some monster."

"Can't you let's me rest for a hour?" Lena was still exhausted.

"I promise this will the last one where you have to fight. I need your long range skill to caught them off guard as i come at them."

"Huh. Fine, Reward me with a pot full of beef stew okay?"

"Promise"

"Alright then"

Lena began walking again to the cliff where we spotted the Yellow Tail. They are still fighting the monster with no scratches, It was unfortunate as i can't use my detect skill very far away. Lena began charging up her lightning storm at the position of the yellow tails.

The mage began feeling uneasiness. 

"Um Lio, I think we should run. My sense began to feel uneasiness"

"How can we escape? We are surrounded what are you gonna do?"

"I can feel mana being sucked out on top our head. It seem like someone casting a spell on" 

Lio was surprised.

"God damn it. We can't escape, There are too many monster for me to last nor we can even wait for the Black claw tribe"

*BAM*  

A Lightning storm strike the ground to nearby monster and them too.

"It a lightning storm spell! We need to run n-

Before the mage can finished picking, A lightning strike his bracelet as the bracelet break due to the force making the Mage pass out.

"God damn it!!"

The lightning strike Lio head aswell making his bracelet break in piece as he also pass out. The mage appear out from the gate and take away the 2 passed out Yellow lizardman to the gate as it disappear.

Lena was like a frail stick as she can't even stand properly. I put her on my back as i began to make a bed made with leather to provide comfort to Lena.

I pick a nice Log and began making leather from the dead boar. I put it on top the log and lay down Lena for her to sleep for some minutes

"Finally i can rest easy"

Lena fall asleep in the first 30 second pretty fast.

*I guess i can't force her to overwork herself. If this was real life i would have been in prison for child labor. The system still haven't speak this day. I beginning to get very worried*

I just hope system is fine back there.
