Minutes later as we were continuing down the tunnel getting closer and closer to the train terminal I heard something up ahead so I had my bots hold up for a second while I investigated. I then crept forward until I could hear grunts and growls coming from the train terminal that should be around the corner in front of me.
I then continued sneaking towards the turn that was a little bit ahead of me and peeked around it to see what was producing that sound. What came into my view was a large metro terminal similar to the one from the games just significantly larger with about two dozen feral ghouls wandering about the area and man they really did look like zombies with their skin and flesh rotting away.
When I was finished looking at the metro terminal from around the corner I signaled for my bots with mechu-deru to move forward to my position and to get rid of the feral ghouls in the train terminal so we could continue heading towards the VSS Facility through the other metro entrance on the opposite side of the terminal.
Once my bots arrived at my location they took aim at the nearby feral ghouls while being covered by my stealth field and started firing off laser beams around the train terminal creating a laser light show that startled the remaining feral ghouls that weren’t eliminated in the first burst of shots.
*Bzzzt Bzzzt Bzzzt…*
As my bots were killing off the feral ghouls around the terminal area a ton of screeches went off from below where the train platforms were located and a few moments later a couple dozen more feral ghouls came flying up the broken escalators charging towards where we were positioned.
*Bzzzt Bzzzt Bzzzt…*
When the last few feral ghouls were closing in on our position I raised my leg and kicked the air in front of me while using the energy I obtained from the Human Weapon perk sending out a wave of energy that blasted the few remaining ghouls to pieces of rotten flesh that flew in multiple directions.
Yeah, I didn’t mean for that to happen I was just planning to knock them back so don’t think I’ll be able to use that move to subdue anyone in the future like I had planned unless I have better control of it. Will definitely have to add it to my training regime so I can better control the power output.
Once I finished that thought I continued forward to the other side of the terminal while ignoring the rotten flesh strewn about the terminal that will most likely be cleaned up by rad roaches at a later time.
After a short amount of time had passed we started nearing the metro exit and the area started to brighten up again so I toggled off the night vision, once my eyes were adjusted to the brightness I continued walking forward and out of the exit a few moments later with my bots following my lead as usual.
“Ahh back in the light once again.” I commented aloud before I took a nice deep breath of the noticeably fresher air.
As soon as I was done getting some fresh air I ascended the nonfunctioning escalators and scanned my surroundings. I then finished scanning the general area about 15 seconds later not really finding anything of danger since it seemed rubble had collapsed in such a way around the area that it has basically made a wall around the collapsed buildings preventing most creatures from accessing this part of the DC area unless they wanted to attempt to scale large unstable piles of rubble that could possibly give way.
When I was done scanning I checked my Pip-Boy map and went towards the building that I needed to cut through to reach the VSS Facility. We then arrived in front of the building a few minutes later which was a large multi-story concrete building with a barely visible US army insignia on the front door.

I then walked up to the front door and gave the handle a test to see if it was locked and it wasn’t so I cracked it open and took a peek inside not seeing anything else other than a general reception area in a dilapidated condition.
My bots and I walked inside while checking our surroundings for any possible threats or anything of interest. A moment later while I was scanning the surroundings I discovered with my perception field a Guns and Bullets skill book, a Nikola Tesla and You skill book, and an N99 10mm Pistol in pretty decent condition. I then put the skill books away in my inventory for later use and handed off the pistol to one of my robots.
We then continued exploring the building until we found an exit in the back of the building that leads to the VSS Facility. Once we were at the door I opened it and looked around the area. After several seconds had passed I only saw the unfinished VSS Facility with its exposed Steel I beams and offline laser turrets so we headed over to it and went towards the elevator placed in the middle of the unfinished facility.
As soon as I arrived in front of it I started inspecting it to see if it still worked. A short amount of time later I discovered that the panel wasn’t functioning correctly so I popped off the metal cover and adjusted the internals a bit repairing the issue.
“Alright, that should do it hop on the elevator guys.” I told my bots before they joined me on the spacious elevator and when they were all on I hit the B4 button which then brought the elevator back to life.
*Whirr*
Several seconds later we descended to the lowest floor but the elevator doors for this floor didn’t open so I walked up and got my fingers in the crack and pried them open. Once they were open I was greeted by a blast door that was locked so I used my increasingly useful lockpicking ability on it to unlock it.
Now that the blast door is open let's head inside and explore this facility. I thought lastly before I walked through the now open blast door followed by my bots. We then spent the next 30 minutes exploring the underground facility finding everything from a pristine medical/surgery block to an area filled with virtual simulation pods for training military personnel.
My robots and I then started logging all the loot spread throughout the facility though not including the armory since it was locked and I was saving for last.
Hours later
It took us about 3 hours to find and log most of the loot that was in this facility but it was time well spent since there were a ton of resources here that I can use as well as a large variety of different high-tech equipment so my trip will definitely be well worth it just from this loot alone.
After we were done logging the loot spread throughout the rest of the facility I signaled to my robots with mechu-deru to meet me at the armory blast doors since it was about time I opened them, and I was getting a bit antsy.
I then walked off in the direction of where the armory was located which was on the lowest floor of the facility so it took me a little bit to get to it since I was on one of the upper floors.
Once I got there I had to wait a bit for all my robots to arrive and when they did I finally walked up to the blast doors protecting the armory and used my lockpicking ability and after about a second had passed I heard a click and before I knew it the large blast door in front of me started to open.
