Chapter 34: Chapter 34 On The Road Again

Date 2275 August 25

 

The next morning as soon as I woke up I asked Hauler for the time like usual to which he told me it was 5:45 AM so I had woken up a bit earlier than usual but not by much. I then got up and went through my normal routine of taking care of my hygiene and making something to eat for breakfast.

 

Once I was done taking care of my morning routine I swapped my focus to mechu-deru to check how my robots were doing and saw that I was now up to a total of 200 worker bots so I sent a signal with mechu-deru to have any newly produced worker bots to be assigned to the manufacturing area to help with getting some of my other projects up and running.

 

I also sent over another task for my worker bots assigned to the manufacturing area to accomplish which was to start getting weapon production up and running using the large number of fabricated parts that were sitting in the warehouse area since I wanted to start getting a large stockpile of weapons going for my robots to be able to use in any given situation in the future.

 

Another benefit of getting the automated weapon manufacturing machines up and running would be the reduction in the amount of time I would have to invest in making new weapons so that was a big plus as well.

 

After I was done checking over my robots and assigning them new tasks, I next had the robots that I was going to take with me to Vault 101 start making their way to the loading area to get ready to leave. I next headed to the warehouse area and started getting stocked up on gear and when I was fully stocked up on all the gear and equipment I thought I was going to need as well as Amata’s power armor I got into my suit of annihilator power armor and made my over to the loading area where I had my convoy already waiting for me ready to set out at a moments notice.

 

When I got there I pulled out my gatling laser Purge from my inventory and put the backpack power unit on while also taking a firm hold of the weapon. As soon as I had the weapon equipped I had one of my worker bots open the massive blast door and when it pressed the button a siren started going off alerting anyone nearby that the door was opening.

 

*Grrrnd*

 

A few moments later the massive blast door slid open so I walked out of the huge opening with 5 power armor compatible assaultrons equipped in 5 suits of T-51 Power Armor along with a variety of heavy weapons, 5 hauling bots, 2 sentry bot Mk IIs, 30 worker bots and hauler trailing right behind me.

 

Once my robots and I were outside we circled around the building passing by the parking lot out front that had a large amount of junked cars missing. We then continued heading north towards the intersection up ahead and when we got there we kept heading north along the road while I was scanning the surroundings for any danger.

 

Sometime later as we were traveling north I saw far out in the distance a pretty large group of super mutants that consisted of 10 normal super mutants, 6 super mutant brutes, 3 super mutant masters, and 1 super mutant overlord thanks to my new eagle eye perk.

 

“Guys hold up for a second, we have hostiles ahead of us.” I said aloud to my bots before I started checking out what sort of equipment they were using while my robots did as I had asked them.

 

After looking the group of super mutants over for a few seconds I saw they had better makeshift armor than the last group I encountered, 5 R91 Assault Rifles, 5 Type 93 Chinese Assault Rifles, 4 5mm Miniguns, 2 Light Machine Guns, 1 Missile Launcher, 1 M2 Browning Machine Gun, 1 Fat Man Mini Nuke Launcher and 1 Gatling Laser.

 

So this group was a hell of a lot better equipped than the last one from what I could tell since all their equipment appears to be in much better shape as well as the fact that all the assault rifles the normal super mutants are carrying all have drum magazines instead of the standard 30 round magazines that was usually used with those 2 types of assault rifles.

 

When I was done checking out their gear I started thinking about how I wanted to handle them. After a bit of thought, I decided to play it safe and take out the main threats first with my Custom Anti-Material Rifle before I would then head over and annihilate the rest of the super mutants with my gatling laser Purge that I’ve yet to use in combat.

 

As soon as I came to a decision I retrieved my Anti-Material Rifle which was renamed to A-21 Anti-Material Rifle since it was different from a stock Anti-Material Rifle and once I brought it out of my inventory I loaded it up with a 10-round magazine filled with armor piercing rounds.

From there I chambered a round into the gun from the newly inserted magazine and looked down the variable zoom scope while thinking about which of the higher-tier super mutants I wanted to deal with initially. 

 

About a second later I decided to start off the super mutant massacre by ending the life of the super mutant overlord first since that was the only super mutant that could pose any real danger if he were to get close given that he stood at a height of about 10 feet or 3.048 meters and probably weighed over 1,000 pounds or 453.592 kg and probably had a strength rating around the 25+ area. 

 

I could also see from one of the effects of my living anatomy perk that the super mutant overlord had a ton more DT and health so this only reinforced my decision to deal with the super mutant overlord first.

 

I then moved closer to the super mutants with my robots since I was a long way out right now and I didn’t want to start shooting from over 3,000 meters out for various reasons those reasons mainly being that the bullets leaving my gun would lose a ton of their velocity which would basically nullify any damage I could’ve been dealing.

 

So once we got to around the 1,100-meter distance mark I took aim with my gun’s variable zoom scope and moved the scope’s crosshair to where I predicted the super mutant overlord’s head would be a moment later and pulled the A-21 Anti-Material Rifle’s trigger that then let lose a deafening gunshot while also sending out sizeable fireball out of the muzzle brake.

 

A split second later I saw the armor piercing 50 caliber round enter the super mutant overlord’s head killing it instantly and as soon as its body started to fall I had my next round chambered already so I swapped over to the super mutant master that was wielding the missile launcher and repeated the same exact actions I took with my execution of the super mutant overlord.

 

After another second passed the super mutant master I was targeting had his head taken off almost entirely so I guess the super mutant overlords are much sturdier by quite a significant margin if I was able to take off the head of a super mutant master but not a super mutant overlord with a 50 caliber round. Though I don’t think that will be the case for much longer given the rate at which I’m progressing and I could also just get that penetrator perk next level up along with dumping some skill points into guns to bring my damage up even further.

 

When that super mutant master was dealt a killing blow I chambered a new round and as I was lining up the next shot on the super mutant master wielding the Browning M2 Machine Gun the surrounding super mutants became aware of what was happening and started reacting to the situation they were in.

 

Once I had my scope setup on my next target and as I was about to pull the trigger the group of super mutants began scanning the surrounding area looking for what was taking them out one by one and as soon as I applied enough pressure to the trigger my A-21 Anti-Material Rifle released another deafening gunshot giving away my position a brief moment later after the round I had just fired arrived at its intended destination eliminating another super mutant master leaving only one super mutant master remaining among the increasingly smaller group of super mutants.

 

The group of super mutants that were scanning their surroundings all turned towards my direction where the loud gunshot originated from and proceed to let out a war cry before they started charging toward my location within moments of finding where the gunshot came from.

 

As the super mutants were charging towards my direction I lined up a shot on the last remaining super mutant master that was carrying a fat man mini-nuke launcher and pulled the trigger. A little bit less than a second passed before the armor-piercing round I had just fired arrived at its intended target taking out the last remaining super mutant master from the fight by turning its head into a bloody mess with bits of flesh and pieces of its skull going in every direction.

 

When the last remaining super mutant master fell I loaded a fresh magazine into it and placed it back in my inventory and once it was put away I grabbed hold of my gatling laser Purge that has been slung resting against me this entire time. As soon as I had a good hold of my weapon I pointed it towards the charging group of super mutants with my laser sight on the front most super mutant and let loose a stream of laser fire milliseconds later.

 

*Brrrrr…*

 

As I was continuing to hold down the trigger of my gatling laser I watched as the ridiculous amount of laser beams I was sending down range melted, burned, and turned parts of the super mutants bodies to ash piece by piece and bit by bit. Around the 10-second mark, I let go of the trigger since I had just finished killing off the last remaining super mutant of the group.

 

“Alright, guys let's head on over and collect the loot.” I said to my robots before I started walking towards the super mutant corpses.

Once we arrived in front of the bodies I had my robots start loading up all the gear and loot they were carrying which consisted of 4 5mm Miniguns, 1 Fat Man Mini Nuke Launcher, 47 Frag Grenades, 1 Gatling Laser, 1 AER9 Laser Rifle, 2 Light Machine Guns, 1 M2 Browning Machine Gun, 1 Missile Launcher, 5 R91 Assault Rifles, 5 Type 93 Chinese Assault Rifles, 8 5mm 500 Round Minigun Drum Magazines, 4 5mm 1,000 Round Minigun Backpack Magazines, 10 Light Machine Gun Box Magazines, 4 M2 Browning Machine Gun Magazines, 20 50 Round R91 Assault Rifle Drum Magazines, 20 50 Round Type 93 Chinese Assault Rifle Drum Magazines, 385 .50 MG Rounds, 7,744 5mm Rounds, 2,756 5.56 Rounds, 9 Fusion Cores, 73 Microfusion Cells, 7 Mini Nukes, 13 Missiles, 103 Small Energy Cells and 3 Stealth Boys.
