Chapter 6
Several turns in the winding inner laboratory brought Dalton to the training area. It was a monstrous room, probably one of the largest in the base. It was like they had cored out of the center of the massive asteroid they were on and decided to use its depths as the training room. According to his library of knowledge, the entire room was lined with some of the densest ores and materials to make it hyper-resistant to the levels of power some people could put out in this universe. It'd double as an emergency shelter too.
The room was separated in several ways, a gym, a rest area, and a couple of smaller rooms on the side. But the big attraction was the stadium-sized fighting arena. It's here where Dalton walks onto the main floor to meet someone waiting for him. It was one of the red-uniformed people. Their clothing was much like Daltons, except this person was...male? Who knows what it is for aliens? Many of them he's met so far have been humanoid in shape and seemed to follow female and male human figures. They were about the same size as Dalton. As he got closer, more features could be picked out.
Yeah, it was a man. He had pretty average features other than the elf-like ears that jutted an entire foot away from his head on the sides. His skin was a pale sea green. His hair was a darker green and held in a long ponytail down to his waist. His body as a whole seemed to be on the average side, but the muscles he had underneath the uniform were undeniable. He must've used this room religiously with the perfected muscles he had. As for his power...the vague sense Dalton got from him was that he was at least five times as strong as he was. He was beyond his punching range.
The alien smiled, "Greetings! Genesis, right? Man, that doctor has a decent taste, huh? His creation is a one-of-a-kind beauty!" Dalton cringed. Oh, that caused a bit of disdain to go through him. The alien looked him from head to toe, then back up. "I'm Lieutenant Hurst. I'm here to get you up to speed with combat and test what you know. The big boss said I could go all out and test you, so...I'll give you a minute to prepare yourself." Dalton frowned, "Just like that?" No fanfare, nothing else? Hurst laughed, "Just like that! The clock's ticking."
Dalton looked inside himself; his ED (Emotional Dampening) was on. His body was brimming with power...he could do this, right? He took a few stretches to feel out his body, to feel how his muscles and insides moved. He was much denser than his appearance suggested. There were no kinks in his body. He felt limber, pumped up. He bounced lightly on his feet and took a boxing stance. But something seemed to ping in his mind.
[Knowledge of Martial Arts found.][Integrating data into muscle memory.]
It was like something had shot through his entire body. Earth definitely had a ton of martial arts, and he had been a purveyor of manga before dying. He didn't know there was stuff that was translatable to his body. His brain was on fire as seconds ago, his boxing stance was from an amateur, but his muscles quickly tightened up and brought themselves closer. It was in real-time as his body shifted itself to perfect the boxing stance without any real training. If he tried to deviate, his body screamed it was all wrong. When the flash of brain fire dissipated, there was a 'ding' in his head.
