Weeks later, in November, the Cuban Missile Crisis was deflected, and Joana sighed a sigh of relief, but she had another responsibility, which was to teach Patrik. This is just another day in her job as both a teacher and a good guardian, but he appears to accept every word from her to enhance his talents, while Joana saw it as Patrik trying to be his father. Patrik, on the other hand, has a different motive for taking those statements seriously. Patrik did it for Abigail's sake, but also because he'd agreed to be her boyfriend as long as they didn't tell anybody, but encouraged each other's talents and aptitude on the piano to achieve a common goal of being recognized in the music world in Poland or beyond. Poles recognized Patrik as the son of one of the greatest pianists who had been buried in dust. While Joana was previously unknown to the music community throughout Poland, she has become quite well-known in local competitions that she has won, and she has the potential to become a fine pianist in the future if she works alongside Patrik or any other teacher who can help her develop her skills. Furthermore, she genuinely loved Patrik from the start, even at first sight, and Patrik loves her as well, though he has his doubts from time to time owing to her father's reasoning. He has sensed something is going on with Armin since the hospital meeting where he was requested to be his guardian; either he has a contact in the government or he is the government itself. He can't trust him anymore, even if he is her mother's close friend, and he is a well-known musician in Poland. Patrik has to concentrate on the fact that the recital was supposed to take place at the school, but he was informed that he would be playing in front of a huge crowd at the festival since it had drawn local artists and schools to perform.
Patrik finds it strange that Sybil will not be playing at the festival, even though he is one of four musicians who will be performing, including Abigail. When it was originally revealed that she would not be attending the festival recital, she was known to accept any activities as long as she was in the limelight. Patrik can count how many recitals she gave but has forgotten how many she gave from elementary to high school, but he estimates 18 or more over the school years. She was naturally good at utilizing the violin to express herself, however, Patrik recalls she used to play the piano but ended up "wasting" a few years on it, despite her talents before and now at the piano intermediate level. Her demeanor changed when she graduated high school, and Patrik has no idea why. She used to be nice and kind to everyone, but now she can be a jerk to everybody she meets. It really doesn't necessarily matter to Patrik anymore, even if he knows she likes him but hasn't confessed her emotions to him yet. She's definitely aware that Abigail and Patrik are dating now, and she's probably furious and confused about why Patrik chose her over herself. But she is still Patrik's buddy, and she would always compliment his playing if there was a piano nearby. Jan then wasn't known to his friends, but now is a composer working on a new composition, either from the romantic era or from living composers like Szpilman or Penderecki. Although he simply lacks some little qualities of a skilled composer, he must study hard and graduate to realize his desire. All of them were at the school: Sybil, Jan, and other Patrik's friends were in the audience, and Joana was there to see the culmination of months of hard work on practicing the piece. The orchestra was tuning and checking its instruments as a final precaution to verify that nothing was incorrect. The conductor was there, it was Armin, but it was weird enough for Patrik to observe him chatting to someone outside before he and his companions went in, even if he suspects it was a friend of his wishing him luck. He has a feeling it's one of those government contacts. But he pushes that emotion aside since he has to concentrate on the performance; also, his girlfriend Abigail is scared to perform on stage, despite the fact that they are both trained to perform the concerto. Although Patrik has some expertise in this area, his fear remains when playing in front of a huge crowd, although he doesn't mind it occasionally, such as this one. Although his father had warned him that there would be a large audience when he performed in the competition, he was confident that if he gave it his best on the piano, he would be successful. But Abigail has never been interested in performing in front of a huge crowd. Patrik back in elementary years she had seen before while she was performing in Warsaw's theatre. With his father, she was astounded by his incredible aptitude and brilliance on the piano. Aside from the fact that it was her first time performing in a recital, she clearly said in her confession weeks earlier that she fell in love with him at first sight, but Patrik didn't see her until they were competing against each other. It doesn't matter to both of them now only to perform the piece they practice so hard for months for Patrik it would be Piano Concerto No. 1, Op. 11 by Chopin but for Abigail, she picked to play Op. 22, Andante spianato et grande polonaise brillante with the orchestra. Despite the fact that Chopin had written a solo version, she opted to play it with the orchestra when the Piano concert was completed. They were picked as Warsaw University's representation because it was the event's opening day. This would be an excellent opportunity for them to demonstrate their abilities as a pianist. Other schools would play, however, it was performed yearly to recognize aspiring musicians who would compete. It was time for Patrik to start the opening piece.
Someone stepped into one of the rooms where the musicians were conversing or practicing one final time, and it was one of the students who said, "Performer Number One, Patrik Pawlikowski, you are the first one to play today as well, and it is a special day for our humble university." And everyone in that room was clapping as Patrik stood up and went to the door.
Patrik said something to Abigail, "Thank you to all of you, Well Abigail, wish me the best of luck just listen to the speakers."
"Good Luck, Pat, Just don't pass out again like the last time."
"I know and I won't."
Patrik exited the room, accompanied by a student, and proceeded to the stage, where a person was speaking, Armin, together with the head of the school. They were discussing a special day for Poland in which all musicians from various institutions would be invited. Although he stated that Warsaw produces the greatest musicians in history, he was correct because Chopin previously attended this university. And when the head of the school summoned Patrik to the stage, the audience and the orchestra began clapping. Sybil and her other companions saw him, and Joana stood nearby. She had taught Patrik what he needed to know. She knows it's David performing while he was alive. If he had won the Chopin Competition in 1955, this would be a different tale.
Patrik sat at the piano, nodding to the conductor, it was Armin in his brain, he surely knows he was dating his daughter by now, Ah, Patrik, I presume you're dating my daughter or simply dating someone else, I suppose. Armin pondered to himself. The conductor then raised his stick and moved his body, and the orchestra began to play the notes. Then the conductor said to himself, Ah the music and the notes of Chopin, I wonder what this young king will bring to the audience. Patrik looked at the orchestra waiting for that moment, the piano part. He put all he had into reproducing his father's sound, and Joana constantly complimented him on everything he practiced since he always brought his father's memories into the audience. Aside from that, Abigail had heard the piano portion before and was astonished by it; she always wanted to be like his lover, but her interpretation was the same as his father's. She is listening mostly to the speaker as specifically instructed by Patrik, while the other classical musicians in the room are openly discussing their efforts on various compositions they intend to play, and some are laughing since they did not rehearse earlier. Others, though, were sure; certain musicians had already discussed Patrik and his past. Although everyone was raving about Patrik, they were suggesting he'd offer the audience had a wonderful time listening to the performance. They had all been conversing for five minutes.
When the piano section came in, all of the musicians in the room became silent, either because they were reminded of one of the finest pianists in Poland or because the interpretation demonstrated that this would be a winning stroke in a competition. The audience was astounded, as were Sybil and other friends, but Joana was relieved that he had brought David back to life, thinking of how Anita would respond if she were sitting next to them. Abigail was relieved that he had performed another remarkable trick, as he had already demonstrated. But Patrik, just gave it his best, believing that his father was there to guide him to excellence. Armin was stunned to hear the same interpretation. This is David's playing, much like old times, my old buddy, as you said to me previously, "everyone in my father's family must be a musician." How would you respond to this if you were alive? Are you happy that another aspect of your playing has been handed to your son? Well, it's just life, my old buddy, pondered The Conductor. Aside from the fact that there were speakers throughout campus playing this composition, everyone who isn't familiar with it feels like something from heaven would provide it. Some students' comments go,
"Wait, who did this? This is stunning! "
"I agree! IT'S AMAZING! "
"At least we don't have to listen to Mozart or anything, but wow, this is better than anything."
"This came from above; I believe I heard something along these tracks someplace."
Aside from that, the academics just believed this child deserved to be renowned globally since he was the best pianist this university had to offer. Of course, they were taping the concerto for future use in television or reviews. Aside from that, everyone was astounded by this performance and fell silent. Later on, in the first movement, Patrik just plays it as if he nailed it. He believes his mother was present in sitting with him, directing his hands to execute their work. Then Joana realized it sounded like his mother was playing it during the recital they performed while she was alive. She began weeping like a baby, recalling all of her memories, regrets, and so on. But Armin, oh, he feels terrible guilt over her, but he pulls back his ears so the orchestra doesn't know. Then Sybil saw this was amazing, but her emotions were giving in like a piece of her heart was breaking since she was abandoning someone like him or her nation. Other companions felt the same way but were taken along by the talent of it. Abigail shares the same feelings about Sybil, but she had heard this someplace on her father's vinyl records. She has a strong need to weep, much like her father. But she has to contain it, other artists who know Patrik's father observed that this is her wife's playing coming back to life, her interpretations of pieces are vastly different as she is focused on making the audience cry or whatever.
Later, when the first movement was completed, everyone in the audience felt as if someone had given them deep feelings that made them want to cry. Even the students who weren't trained in their ears felt the same way as the audience. Although Patrik believes her mother is still present and his father is looking from behind them as they play, Armin glanced at Patrik and indicated that the second moment should begin now. He moved to give them the signal, and the orchestra followed. The orchestra provided the mood for someone's departure, but it was nowhere near the piano, which provided the nail for the departure. Although Patrik feels the same way about the orchestra because his parents died before they could share all of their wisdom with him, he thinks they are still leading him to accomplishment with just this concerto, His mother's hand, feels they are there holding his hands and doing all of the work for him. Apart from that, he simply does what his heart tells him to do. Nonetheless, he feels the need to weep. But he can't hold it any longer, so he gives in, and the audience notices it; Joana feels the same way about Patrik, but Armin, on the other hand, just won't give in, holding it until he breaks down no matter what; Sybil, observing Patrik, wonders why he cried regrets on his parents because he didn't have much time to learn from them. But Abigail appears impressed, but she feels like she wants to cry but can't. The audience was touched, as were the students who listened to it; also, everyone was left with a sense of nostalgia, as if they could never return. This was the mood throughout the movement; Anita does this because her playing has made people weep, and it is also what she is renowned for. For the time being, as the second movement comes to a close, Patrik feels as though both of his parents are guiding him. As if saying goodbye and promising to meet again in the future. Furthermore, he just started weeping while performing the entire action, so in the end, it feels like they were told their parents were dead. But he must embrace it as a reality he must confront right now. Going so far as to combine both of his parents' piano playing to create a unique piano sound. Armin was taken aback by this, believing that they were saying farewell to him; Joana feels the same way, having known Anita since they first met. Abigail suspects that someone other than Patrik was present. Sybil, after seeing everything, concluded that the show was being given by his prior trauma. Patrik's pals, who have known him since he was a child, concur with Sybil's assessment. Jane took notice of it and made a mental recording of it. As they finished playing the 2nd movement.
Armin was now sure that he was a product of David's family tradition, that he was gifted like his father and mother. But he was still impressed overall, and he looked at Patrik one final time to nod at him again. He noted that he altered a little, shifting from grief to accepting reality. The orchestra then performed, and when he came in, the piano section felt joyful and welcoming of moving on to a new area. Patrik noticed that he was alone and gave his interpretation; it was joyful, as Chopin intended, but perfect in every way. This would be his father's way of teaching, but it is his way now, and he is fine doing it because it is his passion, and his parents raised him to be like this to honor family traditions. Apart from the orchestra and piano working together to resolve that they needed to move on to the present, Armin and Patrik were also present. But, when Joana listens to this, she is transported to a new world where nature and humanity work together to create a utopia. In Sybil's situation, she was either accepting that she had to leave her former home or accepting that Patrik had chosen Abigail over her. It doesn't matter anymore that her sentiments are repressed; she wants to establish a name for herself in the music industry. Other people, such as Jan, were even more astonished by the transition from a sorrowful to a happy tone. Jan was also writing additional notes for his work, thinking about what he heard from Patrik's keyboard. Abigail is just delighted that Patrik accepted her as his girlfriend despite her fears that she would be rejected immediately away, but now look at him accepting it. Patrik believed all of his hard work had paid off now, he feels at home doing what his parents would do, giving concerts everywhere, and he is now officially recognized by everyone in his university or class as the pianist who drew everyone's attention. He feels like he's making his parents happy by playing the piano at the festival. He has Abigail as a girlfriend, but he perceives her talents as lacking in polish, but he loves her as a lover, and she has brightened his life once more. He has Abigail as a girlfriend, but he perceives her talents as lacking in polish, but he loves her as a lover, and she has brightened his life once more. The last movement finished everyone gave applause even the orchestra put down their instruments and did the same with the audience, he stood up Armin gave him a hug and a warm handshake. Aside from blowing and sitting back at the piano, the audience did not expect him to perform a Chopin Waltz in D-flat major, Op. 64, No. 1 or known as Valse du petit chien. It wasn't on the program, but everyone stopped cheering and sat down to see Patrik perform one more time before leaving the stage. Besides, neither Joana nor Armin expected this, but Abigail knows that previous to this, he would most likely do an encore of a Chopin waltz that she enjoys. And there he is, playing it. Measure for measure, he nailed it and did his own version, which everyone enjoyed, even Sybil. But Armin has a feeling this isn't the last time he'll hear his old pal David perform this. The Waltz was 140 measures long, and boy did he play it fast; everyone was amazed at how fast it was. Everyone began clapping again, and Patrik exited the stage to the chamber where Abigail was waiting for her time. Abigail walked out and waited for him, expecting him to congratulate him on his performance, but she was next in line. She was apprehensive as usual, but after hearing Patrik's playing, she felt secure. Her hands were shaking, but she just let it go because it didn't matter to her; all she cared about was playing the piano. When Patrik arrived to take a break from it, she kissed him right away. Patrik was stunned since she didn't really expect her to kiss him after playing the piano, but he was happy and wished her luck as she was called to the stage.
