Chapter 2: First Day

I'm confused.
This situation is confusing.
As a whole, this is unexpected.
How could i have expected something without existing?

I feel like i am much more intelligent than i was a minute ago.
I'm going to try to exit this hole.
... How?

I have a solution.
Extending myself to a destination, then collapsing what remains.
I am proud of myself.

What is this place?
Why are these (tables) so high?
Was it designed for something tall?
Or am I the first thing here, and it's just inconvenient?

I have figured out a way to make myself tall.
It's not as creative as movement was, but it may be nearly as useful.
Now what are some of these objects?

I have decided that the marks and engravings on so many surfaces must be on purpose.
Communication?
Or something I do not know of?
I assume there must have been multiple of the taller things, and that they existed.
I wonder why they left?

There are only (26) glyphs, what is their meaning?
Labelled containers may be useful eventually, but why are all those with the four glyph combination of f-o-o-d empty?

I have found a knowledge repository.
There are not many (books) here, but perhaps one may explain the language?
I wonder what the dark shiny surfaces scattered around are?
Portability makes them potentially important.

I am beginning to feel weaker.
Can I not move without something i have been using recklessly?
I hope it can be replaced.

I have remained still for some time.
The mysterious resource continues to disappear, but slower.
I am glad that I picked such a beautiful room.

There is a hole in this wall.
Unlike the rest, there is no floor on the other side.
I have been careful not to leave, after realizing I could.

The outside hole showed many pinpoint lights, like me, but small.
Now there is only one, and it seems much larger.
I wonder if these are related?

I rejoice!
Remaining in view of the brightest light has entirely replenished my energy!
Even better, the longer I do, the brighter I get!
How much can I hold?

Once achieving a certain brightness, I've began to grow bigger.
I will now leave, with a size I find comfortable.

I have made two amazing discoveries, in a matter of seconds!
One, what appears to be a learning book for this language!
Two, I can divide!
Amazing!

There are now three of me.
We can communicate while any of our wavelengths are in sight.
I have sisters I can interact with!

While leaving one of us to learn the language and one to absorb Big Sister's light, me and my third sister will explore.
Such efficiency!

I have learned the language in its basics, and can now understand almost all of the labels!
I've been spreading the knowledge to as many as possible, and we will be regrouping in the first room soon.

I'm here now!
There are so many of us...
But we can make that more manageable!

We've made a map of the entire station, with help from some emergency escape pamphlets.
One of the wall-mounted computers seems to still work.
While being so unified is efficient for knowledge transfer, I miss my sisters.

We have returned to a count of seven.
This is enough, and they agree.
I will be attempting to use the computer, as a pair.

The computer seems to be an emergency system.
We agree that however we started, it must have killed any live electronics.
The failsafe seems to be trying to get our attention.
