Bito sipped his tea lightly, warm jasmine tea with a slight dip of honey, just how he liked it. While his oldest daughter in law is useless when it comes to making worthwhile heirs, he will admit that her housekeeping skills are second to none. He really wished his other two daughters-in-laws would take lessons from her, especially the youngest.
"Great as always." the dried voice echoed as the old man set his tea cup down. Looking to his left, he nodded at the maker, "Could you give us some privacy?"
"Yes sir." The eldest daughter in law, a seductive beauty with an equally seductive body barely covered in her usual maid outfit. Walking past the guest she again offered her-no him-a beverage but he simply shook his head "I will be off then master."
"Please give my grandkids my respect when they come home." He laughed, not missing the ever so slight, nearly imperceptible, flinch from the head maid. "I heard they did well in their training."
"I will,Master." she answered, giving a quick bow before exiting the room leaving the two monsters to themselves. "Now onto you."
"Yes?" the white haired male said, taking a break from eating the breadsticks he summoned.
"I would appreciate it if you didn't oggle my daughter in law like that." The old man ordered his smile doing nothing to hide his annoyance. "I tolerated it when you were fourteen but now you are twenty-one. Please conduct yourself in a respectful manner."
"I apologize, Elder Bito." Micha apologized fearful of what could happen to himself if he didn't. A toothless lion is still a lion. "I will try to act better."
"Words are cheap," the former agent mocked. "Speaking of cheap, why are you still eating those breadsticks? Didn't you like steak and burgers when you were younger?"
"Still do, just not in the mood since I can't taste shit for dick." Micha replied sarcastically while rolling his eyes "but that's what I get for copying your power."
"After I warned you not to take it but you did anyway." Bito laughed, adjusting his glasses before taking a sip of his tea. "I lost my sense of touch because of it."
"I think that touch is better than taste, I can still feel pain." Micha whined, leaning back in the soft chair "so how's Richin been? you said he was doing well in training."
"He is actually proving himself worth the effort." Bito nodded, cracking a devilish smile. His oldest grandchild was quickly approaching level four. Maybe by adulthood he will be level five? "When Tief gets here you can ask her for more details."
"She's the one you gave 'Parasyte' to?" Fortune wondered trying her best to recall the doctor.
Her name is Tief, one of the select few who were regarded as gods of medicine, or better known as Valhalla Rejecters. Known for her life- and youth-extending medicines, she is a medical legend.
"How has she been?" Micha asked, his impatience rising slightly. "I hope she likes the ability I gave her."
"It still shocks me that you are able to come up with the rarest abilities." Bito laughed with a malicious glint in his eyes. Truly the blessings this boy had given his gentle natured friend and his grandchildren were rare or even ,dare he say, mythic. Those children were blessed with abilities that were out of this world. They might reach level five.
That, however, is exactly what he is concerned about. "You might just catch the eye of some powerful people."
"And blow my whole operation?" Micha laughed, seemingly, without a care in the world "Like hell that'll happen to the 'disgraced esperonica'."
"You kids always think you're invincible." the retired agent sighed while shaking his head. "You might get someone from the public safety board knocking on your door. I think I told you before how ruthless they are?"
"I do believe I told you that they have my aunt-slash-cousin as their chief attack hound." Micha retorted, causing the old man to sigh in exasperation. "I'm still not inclined to join them. It would ruin my business."
"an illegal business." A new voice interjected as they closed the door. The voice belonged to a towering man accompanied by a young woman. "One that you're lucky I don't mention to the authorities, boy."
As Micha looked at the man, he laughed. "And endanger your primary source of research?" The man simply scoffed while walking to a chair in the lower left corner, the farthest from the boy. In stark contrast to his heavily scarred and burly appearance, the mountainous man wore proper lab clothing.
Bito glanced at the figure, who had a revolting expression on his face aimed at the young man sitting at the other end of the table. The old man was not enthused by the face he was making. His daughter-in-law spent a reasonable amount of effort on the steaming hot tea but this rude guest was focused on someone else? Disgraceful!
It would seem like Bito had to re-educate this youngster in manners.
"You know you should greet the owner of the home when you enter into a meeting." Bito reminded kindly, not bothering to hide his anger causing the large man to shiver which only intensified as he felt a grim presence surrounding himself and the others in the room. "I thought most people knew that?"
"Please give him a pass." The young lady requested, placing down her tea and giving a soft glare at Bito "he hit a roadblock for the thirtieth day in a row. You've freaked out over dry streaks before."
"fine" Bito grumbled, closing his yellow eyes from the doctor's stern gaze "just make sure to teach your students about proper etiquette that's not lab related, will you?"
Micha laughed, never even imagining that the request could be fulfilled. In an effort to add insult to injury, Micha continued with a haughty remark. "If his choice of partner and focus are any indication, he doesn't have what it takes to show excellence. It just enters through the left and comes out through the right."
"What did you just say?" the man growled, taking to his feet only to be forced back down by bug-like appendages. It was the woman, exercising her ability she sat her student down with a surprising amount of force while her face gave a silent warning.

"Glad to see you two are working in harmony." Micha congratulated his tone carrying a silent respect which contrasted with a curious gleam in his eye. "At least that useless bitch contributed something to me, other than heartbreak."
"Why am I not surprised to hear that from you?" The young lady passively sipped another sip of tea. Her eyes were fixed on the person whose words brought the group together. "So we're all here. Do you need the keys?"

What is a soul?
That was the new question that plagued the experiment's mind as it toiled away at the rainbow-colored cubic toy. Apart from killing its creator and controlling its own gates, this simple contraption made for entertainment long before it was ever born presented the greatest challenge.
"Subject: rubik's cube. This is far too complex for something so inexpensive." A robotic voice echoed throughout the building's darkness. Around them were holographic screens showing the progress of their ongoing experiments.
The focus was on enhancing the humanoid body and mind through psychological torture and drugs. Doing this would lead to the body being able to take artificially transplanted blessings. The most recent and painful procedure.
"Subject: Project SOUL's evaluation, so far, shows a ninety-nine percentile failure rate among female humanoids ages nineteen to thirty." it coldly recited to itself turning a set of blocks right "however among subject: male humanoids, ages nineteen to thirty it has been seen that the failure rate is less by 0.0045 percentile."
It paused before increasing the speed at which it solved the object in its hands, and further considered its question. As a result of the "favor clause," it had come into contact with the blood of the student of the immortal potion maker. The creator called the power 'soul corpse manipulation' because of its ability to revive the dead as zombies.
This was a truly disgusting force that needed to be eliminated if it was to kick off its vision of a reborn Warring states era. However, that was so far in the future, it wasn't of much significance yet.
"My Lord." a figure appeared, teleporting into the building with a pair of ladies. The figure was also a female clad in a deep black outfit that looked to devour all light within the world. "The informant has given her report."
This lady was the main reason for It questioning the concept of a soul. This female was created in a similar way; she was an artificial soul capable of using a very powerful blessing. Through a combination of powers, It created an artificial soul to be its companion throughout this war.
"Subject: Informant report: What did they report?" It requested, completing the entire face of the cube.
Would it mean that an artificial soul would have no value in its life if it was so easy to create one through a long process of combining powers or a process that combined many powers at once?
"X-96 has been found at the YH Academy," the figure announced calmly.
"What? Repeat." It ordered rising from its crouching position and turning to the figure who trembled heavily at the sight of it.
"X-96 was spotted at YH. He was associating with two unknown females and his relative 'the hound'" the figure stated much to Its annoyance. The figure was fearful as it looked at the thing in front of them. Another sentence was supposed to follow, but the figure was too scared for their life to say it.
However, if they kept this a secret they would likely die in a much more painful and unflattering way. Their left arm began to ache as the memory of it being forced off resurfaced, but they swallowed their trepidations and pain and continued their report. "It was also gathered that P.A.T.R.I.O.T is looking at X-96."
The windowless room was filled with deathly silence like no other. It was silence that weighed down on one like a boulder, promising only death if broken incorrectly.
Those monsters? Now they were involved?
"COULD THIS GET ANY AMNDJONRJBROEKEDSMDXW?" It roared, the well-made body glitching like a faulty program. Blinding lightning bolts filled the room, flooding it with light as the first gate was nearly opened.
With a powerful force, the bolt blasted the figure, sending them flying as their body repeatedly disintegrated and reassembled. It began to think without any emotion as the wrathful scream ended.
It was too soon. If those demons were to inquire about anything having to do with X-96, the war would likely be exposed. Thus, both the creator and his work would be immediately sequestered, and he would likely be sent to the Null.
Neither it nor the creator wanted that...
Still, it was far too weak. The battle for the title of 'monarch' was still raging in the shadows of the empire, and the surrounding lands. It didn't need more unknowns on the stage.
The smart choice was...
"Yes that's it." It laughed evilly. A plan was forming and if it succeeded, all would be well."Mathers, summon S.E.E.S for me."
"YES SIR!" the figure shouted, eagerly taking the chance to run from their wrathful master.
