{So I've died, huh?}

I've never expected to say such cliched words, but I had to admit being able to say them felt good. I took a good look at my surroundings, which was completely dark, except for a man sitting on a throne in the distance.

The frivolous looking man seems to be the only object around that was emitting light, the lack of shadows on him giving him an other-worldly feeling. I instinctively made my way over to him. When I got closer, I was able to take a better look at him. The man, who I assumed to be old due to his long white hair, turned out to be a man around twenty. He was wearing a white tunic, similar to those worn by people in Ancient Greece, and on his head was a crown of laurel. Both of us stared at each other silently for a moment before I finally spoke.

{God?}

He stared indifferently at me before speaking: {Eren Yeager. 17 years old. Died while attempting to save a child who ran onto the road while playing.}

Ah right! The child! I remembered that I managed to push the kid before I was hit by the car, so I couldn't help but ask hopefully:

{Is the kid alright?}

{Although you managed to reach the child, you weren't successful in pushing him away on time.}

I felt my mind went blank. I would have collapsed onto my knees if I wasn't a floating spirit. Even so, I felt devastated.

{Alright, let's get this over with. Choose three abilities and I will send you on your way to your new world.}

Wait, what? We are just glossing over the topic?

{What will happen to the kid?}

The man rolled his eyes before replying:

{His soul will be reincarnated, just like everyone else eventually.}

Hearing what the man said, I felt somewhat relieved yet conflicted. At least the kid will get to live again, but doesn't that mean I didn't need to attempt to save him in the first place? I immediately felt messed up for having such a thought. Thus, before I had an existential crisis, I decided to empty my brain.

The man continued speaking:

{Now, let us not drag this out any further. You, who have been chosen for your braveness, are being sent to a world of sword, magic and leveling up, the type of RPG medieval fantasy people in your world enjoys. Thus, I need you to pick three abilities before I transfer you into the world.}

I brought my focus back onto the current situation. Ignoring what seems to be lip service from the way he is speaking, he is asking me to choose three abilities? Feeling that his request was too vague. I couldn't help but ask:

{Isn't there a list I can choose from?}

{Nope. Just sound off some ideas and I will decide whether to accept them or not.}

Unprofessional, I couldn't help but think to myself. I began contemplating. He didn't mention any limit to my abilities, and since I was being transferred to a magic fantasy world, isn't it obvious what I should choose.

{Weapon Creation please!}

{Hmmm? You mean blacksmithing skills?}

{No. Like some sort of weapon spawning skill where I can create any weapon I can imagine instantly.}

The man seemed to be in deep thought for a while before speaking:

{Sure, but the higher the complexity of the weapon, the higher the amount of mana needed to create it.}

Uh oh, what if the weapon I wanted to create cost too much mana? I had to fix that issue with my second ability.

{For my next ability, can I have infinite mana?}

{PFFT, HAHAHAHAHA!}

The man began laughing as I awkwardly stood there. After calming himself down, he continued speaking: {You are a greedy one, aren't you. Not the type I would expect to save a child at the risk of his own life.}

I felt embarrassed, but I still pressed on: {Is that not possible?}

{It isn't possible. However, I can give you the next best thing, a Greater Mana Pool.}

The ability, Greater Mana Pool, gives the owner 100 times the mana capacity of an average person of the same level. It's also the best ability of its kind. It's far from the unlimited mana I envisioned, but it isn't too bad.

Before I chose my final ability, I asked the man a question I should have asked from the beginning but forgot.

{Is this world I am going to dangerous?}

{Yes.}

After asking a few more times, I could feel that the man did not want to elaborate on his answer, but his answer is enough to give me an ominous feeling. And so, I decided on my final ability.

{I want the ability to master any weapon instantly.}

I wanted to train to use the weapons, but it seems that not instantly having the ability to fight once I enter the new world may cost me my life. The instant I finished my request, the man spoke with impatience:

{Very well, off on your way now.}

With barely any time to comprehend, I felt myself blacking out. When I woke up, I found myself lying in a forest. Feeling the grass beneath my body, I couldn't help murmuring to myself:

{Turns out it was all real...}

The reason I was able to be so calm while talking with God, was because I thought that it was some post-death hallucination. However, everything around me is too realistic to be a dream, at least I think so. Thinking of my past life, I did not feel the urge to shed any tears. Not because I had nothing I cared about, but because I am confident that I will be able to see everyone I care about real soon.

Taking a deep breath, I started my journey through this new world.
