Chapter 7: Chapter 6- Stop lying to me!

Note: - Whenever in any of the female lead's perspectives is written 'That man' or 'The man,' they are referring to Ethan. Anyway, now enjoy the chapter~]

[Gisele's POV:]

'What have I done! '

I was the one who suggested Catherine and Sasha stay away from him and observe from the shadows, and now here I was.

Fighting for his dignity and inviting him to study together, I don't know why such a thing happened in the first place.

Back in the classroom, when Nelson insulted the man, I felt my heart clenching for some reason. More than cursing him, it seemed Nelson was shaming me and badmouthing my very existence.

I don't know when was the last time I felt such aggression but one thing I was sure of at that moment…

'I really wanted to kill that bastard… '

I know killing Nelson just because he broke some fundamental rules is totally insane. Still, somehow, when I remember him calling Ethan a man-whore and spouting nonsense about his parents, I feel killing Nelson would not be that bad.

Maybe I was getting influenced by the thing which makes me feel connected with the man and clouding my judgment?

'I better talk this with the other two….'

With such thoughts, I, along with Ethan, entered the library where I used to spend time with him. And the only place where I would be alone with him.

Yes, just this one!

There are seven libraries on the whole campus of Xyler Academy, which covers different categories of books and scripts which students find helpful to learn.

Along with grimoire to children's fairy tales, the collection Xyler Academy isn't limited by anything except for the Nations' secrets and Evil Wizardry.

There are several shelves built with appropriate distance in between them with a digital screen planted in the front of each unit which contains the list of books.

There's strict surveillance in the library to keep the noise in check. Those who get caught breaching the rules might get banned from the library for a certain period.

There are some study tables arranged in the open, but Gisele always prefers to read in the small cabin, which students borrow if they want privacy.

The cabin could be occupied by only four people, no more. One of the rules has to be followed if someone doesn't want to get penalized.

Taking seats inside one of the cabins, Gisele instantly took out some of her books and started reading one of them without giving him a chance to even utter a single word.

But she didn't anticipate that Ethan never intended to speak in the first place.

Sitting opposite her, he rested his cheek on his clenched fist, further being supported on the table as his warm gaze peeked through the book and took a good look at her charming face.

It's been a long for Ethan to see his wife. Since morning he wasn't getting the opportunity to look at her properly, but now he got only Gisele in his eyes.

Gisele tried to endure for the first fifteen minutes but not anymore!

"Didn't I say not to disturb me… ?"

Amidst peaceful silence as Ethan enjoyed his view, suddenly, Gisele spoke after she closed the book and glared daggers at him.

Even though there was a cover facing her; she could feel his gaze penetrating through and staring at her intently.

"Wha-I was just spacing out. I never disturbed you."

Ethan tried to play it cool as he spoke in an innocent tone, but just as he expected, his wife wasn't a fool to believe such a blatant lie.

"Don't play smart. I know you were looking at me. Just tell me why?"

Under heavy persuasion, Ethan felt the matter has escalated. Seeing Gisele frown and the way she asked, he concluded that she was bothered not just because of now but what happened in class.

And it was justifiable since he never before paid mind to her nor acted the way he did today.

"If I say I suddenly fell for you… "

Heading his words, Gisele sneered after turning her gaze since she could never believe those damn words he spoke.

"No, seriously. I am not joking. I indeed fell for you, Gisele. It's been quite a long since I wanted to tell, but I never found…

Ethan continued with his confession, which he had never thought of conveying in such a rushed and unexpected manner. It was just at that moment that he felt like telling her how he genuinely felt.

He wasn't a lover boy. Never had been. So knowing the perfect words and situation to share his feelings wasn't something he totally understood.

But little did he think that his words would backfire in such a way and would hurt Gisele in so many ways.

"Stop lying… "

"Huh? "

Amidst his confession, suddenly, Gisele's heavy voice interrupted him as he made a perplexed face. But as soon he saw Gisele's expression, which carried tears in the corner of her eyes, Ethan's heart fell numb.

"Stop lying to me, Ethan! I know! I know you can never love me. You don't like anything about me! My face, my body, my hair, everything repulses you; I know about that, so stop lying to me! I know I can never become a woman worthy of your love! Someone whom you can call your proudly… I can never become like that. It hurts! It hurts when you say something which could never happen…. So for God's sake. STOP LYING TO ME!! "

With her cheeks continuously getting tainted with overflowing tears, Gisele nearly shouted at Ethan, making the latter stunned even to breathe.

Ignoring the warning which came from the digital screen, Gisele got up from her seat after taking her things and wiping her face when she felt her hand limply being held by him.

"Don't go, Gisele…. "

Without turning toward him, Gisele spoke in a husky tone what came to her mind.

"If you seriously like me, Ethan…then please never show that face of yours…ever again. I beg you… "

With those words, she snatched her hand away and left the cabin.

A/N: - Hear me out.

Her partial memory is making her like this and she is not wholly wrong in the liking part aspect since Ethan never expressed his love for his wives.

But now things would change.

Some chapters might be heavy and tear-jerking, but after that….. Fluff!!
