Chapter 1: What Happened?

Every morning I wake up full of dread. Knowing that my end is possibly coming near, makes it hard to get out of bed in the morning.

"I guess I have to get ready now." Said Rin miserably.

I suppose I should clarify why I'm full of dread. It all started 5 years ago when my parents were in a strange accident. I was also in the car when it happened, but I can't seem to recall anything. My uncle is taking care of me now, but I have had strange dreams of a clock counting down ever since then. My uncle is involved with a cult, so after he started to take care of me, I got involved too.

Rin is putting on his clothes and socks and suddenly hears a loud knocking on his door.

"Who is it!?" Rin yelled while struggling to put his pants on.

"It's me, buddy!" Said a grown man's voice on the other side of the door.

Rin quickly got the rest of his clothes on, and opened the door, to see his Uncle standing on the other side.

"Does the leader need something?" Rin said while frowning.

"He does, he just wants you to tell him how much time is left, it isn't anything bad I promise." Rin's Uncle answered oddly cheerfully.

"Well let's go then," Rin muttered.

While walking to the leader's cabin, they overhear multiple of the other members chatting about some ritual. It seemed important.

"A ritual? Do you know anything about the ritual Uncle James?" Rin asked curiously.

"Oh you'll have to ask the leader about that Rin, I'm not sure." Said Uncle James with a creepy smile on his face.

I should probably explain what this cult is all about, the people of this cult believe in the merging of two worlds. Supposedly the merging would make a better world. I have heard many things over the 5 years I've been here, such as the mention of other children, yet I have never seen another child here except for myself. I have also heard that many of the children went missing after supposedly failing rituals, though I'm not exactly sure what to believe anymore.

"We are finally here, go on ahead Rin, I got some other matters to deal with right now." Said Uncle James.

"Oh alright, I'll see you later," Rin said while waving goodbye.

Before heading in, Rin reassures himself. "Everything will be okay, nothing bad will happen, stop worrying so much," Rin thought to himself.

Then Rin heads inside.
