By the time I woke up, the sun was rising. The bed was empty, the spot Xavier slept was cold and empty. I was glad he wasn't here, I wasn't ready to face him after the sex last night. I didn't know where that leaves us now, I still hated him for everything he's done. That fact that we had sex didn't change anything, it was a weak point in my life and I gave in.

I sat up, just as I heard Amelia muffed cries. Shit, how long has she been crying? Picking up the robe from the floor, I need to go get some of my clothes for the apartment. I didn't know how long I would be staying here. I pause when I hear light footsteps in the corridor, was Xavier here? Heading over to Amelia's room, her cries had stop and the door was wide open. I freeze by the door when I see Cara's blonde hair and Amelia in her arms. Fuck! Was she here last night? Does she know about me and Xavier?

"What are you doing?" I seer angrily, moving to take my baby out of her arms.

"She was crying when I got in," Cara explained, eyeing the robe I had on.

"I heard," I say holding her on my waist.

"Xavier explained why you were here," I look her waiting for her to continue.

"I agreed to this because you are Amelia's mother, once the situation is dealt with I want you gone." I laugh when she says that's.

"I can never be gone Cara, I am the mother of his child. I will always be in his life," I remind her scoffing.

"It doesn't matter what you say, I know how much he loves me." She flicks her hair. I was contemplating whether or not I should tell her we fucked last night.

"Right," I decided it would be better for Xavier to be here when I tell her. Leaving her in Amelia's room I make my way to the guest room, so I can feed Amelia without her being there.

"How did you sleep last night?" I freeze as she calls after me.

"Amazing, Xavier was very welcoming." I spin giving her my best fake smile.

"I thought him everything he knows," Cara says proudly, she knows. She knew we had sex, it says it all over her face. I shouldn't be surprised she doesn't care, to her this was probably normal.

"I'm not as stupid as you think Vanessa, Xavier is a man. He has needs, It's expected of him to want to seek pleasure elsewhere once in a while." frowning at her. She was okay with this?

"Cara, that isn't how it's supposed to works. A man who claims he loves you wouldn't need another woman, Xavier is a piece of shit who is taking advantage of your stupidity." I explained they have filled her head with so much bullshit.

"You don't understand our ways, you never will. He needs someone who does, he can't be with someone who thinks like that. You can never understand him."

"Is that why he left everything for me? Why did he betray his family?" I asked,

"He did what he did need to do to get that child for us," I clench my fist wanting to punch her face, did she just confirm what Mary told me.

"Listen, Cara, as long as I'm alive you will never be the mother of my child. So get that into your fucking sick head," I growl at her.

"Not for long," she smirks turning my blood cold.

"What did you just say?"

"Maybe this time Josh will succeed at his job," she spins on her heels walking away. Did she just threaten me? That bitch! It does make sense, she wants me gone. What's to stop her from helping Josh kill me? Did she help him the first time at the cabin?

Turning around into the guest room no longer feeling safe in this house, I locked the door behind me. Dropping Amelia on the bed, unplugging my phone for the socket. I dial Xavier number, I need to get out of this house. With Cara here, I knew I wasn't safe.

"Hello?" I almost relaxed when I hear his voice

"Xavier?" I breathe, images of last night fills my head.

"What's wrong?"

"You need to come to get out of this crazy house, Cara just threatens me. She wants Josh to kill me, she wants me to be gone." I rush out

"Calm down, Vanessa. Cara would never do anything to hurt you." He signs

"She wants you all for herself, she knows we did it last night." I hesitate at the last part.

"Of course she knows, you weren't exactly quiet." He chuckles

"I'm being serious Xavier, I can't stay here with her here."

"Cara would never disobey me, I will be home later tonight. You two try to sort it out,"

"Xavier! I swear to god if I get killed by her I will come back and fucking hunt you."

"What do you want me to do Vanessa? I need to keep you and my baby safe, the only way I can do that is knowing where you are."

"I want you to get rid of her Xavier, I want her gone."

"Stop being silly," he groans

"Your daughter or your whore?" I raise my brows

"For fuck sake Vanessa, she's not my whore."

"I beg to differ,"

"Do you want to keep seeing your daughter or have someone to sink your dick in,"

"Cause we can also go back to rock crest." I knew I was pushing it,

"Remember who the fuck your talking to Vanessa, I owned you. You don't get to give me an ultimatum, your mine to do as I please with." He growls into the phone.

"Cara fucking stays!"

"Do you love her Xavier, cause I need to know?"

"She never left Vanessa,"

"So what did last night mean?" I ask sounding pathetic.

"You needed someone to take your mind off shit and I needed something to sink my dick in," my face twists in disgust.

"I hate you,"

"That's wasn't what you were screaming last night,"

"I can still taste you on my tongue, baby." I hear his licking his lips.

"Your disgusting," I was disgusting for sleeping with him, I know better.

"Last night meant nothing Vanessa, I was there for you when you needed me. Don't beat yourself up thinking about something that doesn't matter."

"I knew that, but I'm still not staying in this house with that woman." I snap

"Fuck, fine."

"Really" clearing my throat to hide my surprise

"You're being fucking difficult. The next safe place will be the beach house."

It is as I retreated inside of myself; when Xavier said that. It's as if the phone far, far away and somehow disconnected. The fear shackles me as I remember that night at the beach house.

"Vanessa?" Xavier calls

"I can't go back there," I tell him.
