VANESSA

The days starts to blend, I wasn't sure what the actual date was. I had the same routine; wake up to an empty room, Xavier was usually gone. Eating breakfast with the other freaks, spend my afternoon watching Amelia through that fucking glass. But my evening was way worse, Khaleesi is determined to 'save my soul'. We had lessons. Lessons on how to save the lord and the order. The lessons were Consist of her reading from their holy books and questioning me later on.

I hardly see Xavier, I wasn't sure if he was avoiding me. But every night I would hear him getting into bed after hours of me waiting up from him. I had questions. Where does he go all day? How is the plan of us escaping this alternate universe going?

It was late in the evening, I was coming from my lessons with Khaleesi. As I walked down the white corridors, trying to get back to the room before dinner. The door on the other end opens with a hiss as someone presses the button. Air left my lungs, my keens went weak. I'm not sure how I was able to hold myself up when I see them. The two of them looked like old buddies (which they were). Xavier in his white pants and shirt walked beside Josh who was dressed in all black. They haven't noticed me yet and I didn't want them to.

Before I could escape, Josh's head turns my way. His eyes glisten with joy, his lips widen into a sickening smile. He had aged, you could see the tight lines around his eyes and he grew a beard. Xavier's lips stop moving when he sees Josh was no longer paying him attention. The walls start to close the longer I stare into Josh's eyes. The tears came without warning, he killed Stephanie, he was going to kill me and Xavier was talking to him. I turn running the opposite way, Xavier screams my name but I let my feet carry me. My eyes blurs the further I ran but I didn't stop. When I finally reach the courtyard, I fall to the concrete floor. My skin scratched on the hard and rough ground. Gut-wrenching sobs leave my mouth, it was an ugly sound. But all I could see was Josh killing Stephanie over and over again, him tormenting me.

"Vanessa." I turn my head, I could see Xavier staring down at me. Clumsily getting off the floor, ignoring my burning skin. I took a few steps away from him. Josh wasn't here. I stare at Xavier trying to read him, was this want he was doing these past few days? Getting cosy with Josh.

"Don't." I wipe my tears when he tries reaching out for me. "Don't speak to me." I squeeze my eyelids. I trusted him, all the while he was hanging out with Josh. I should have known, this was all part of his plan. Trying to ignore what my gut was telling me, trying to ignore the feeling I had alone was stupid.

"First my father, now Josh?" I asked, "Do enjoy seeing me like this!"

"How could you! Doesn't it make you sick knowing the man who killed Stephanie is here! Does Alan know what you're doing! He trusted you, we trusted you!" I close my eyes, all I could feel was his arms grabbing mine.

"It's not what you think," he sighs. "I told you to trust me, I only ask you one thing, Vanessa. Trust me. You can't react like this all the time, I need you to trust me." Xavier begs, I open my eyes and sees his dark eyes pleading with mine. Searching his eyes, for what, I don't know. I wanted to trust him, I needed to trust him but I couldn't. I was scared, everything he's ever done was for this moment. For me to be here with him, to be trapped here. I open my mouth but he speaks first.

"I love you."

"Xavier...." Was he just telling me what I wanted to hear at this moment? Or did he mean it?

"You're the mother of my child, you're my wife and I love you. I need you to trust me." Looking up at him, speechless. So I stand there, unsure of what to do with what he just said.

"I have always loved you, Vanessa, I know you think this is a trick but I do. It's the truth, I hate that I love you. You left me, you left me Vanessa and I deserve that. But I still love you and I know you love me too." He cups my cheek, staring into my teary eyes.

"What about Cara?" I whisper, dropping my head to his chest. I hate saying her name, but he was with her for years. Xavier wraps his arm around me.

"It's always been you, Vanessa." He pulls away and kisses my forehead, his hands slid up my back, searing hot. Pressing his thumb gently into my throat, he tips my head back. My hands leave his chest and find his back, his muscles tense beneath my palms as he till his head down and kisses me. Hard. I felt his lips come against mine so hard I gasp. I kissed him slowly, his unshaven face rasped my skin. His mouth Skimmed my throat and I felt his touch of the tongue, causing my knees to go weak. Caught in the moment, I ran my hands under his shirt, remembering how his body felt.

"Sorry to interrupt this beautiful moment." My body goes rigid and I pulled away from Xavier. Josh stood behind him, smiling at us. He waves at me, I wanted to kill him. I want him to beg as I did. But I was too weak to do anything to him.

"Your business here is done, Josh." Xavier turns to face him, his stance intimidating.

"I was just heading back, waiting for your decision. It's good to see you, Vanessa, after all the years you still look the same." My grip tightens on Xavier when Josh says my name.

"Don't fucking look at her. Don't even breathe the same air as her." Xavier snarls causing Josh to raise his hands in surrender.

"Yes, boss," Josh says in an almost taunting way at me. I stayed hide behind Xavier like a coward. I held my breath waiting for his boot's sounds to disappear but it doesn't, I hear a couple of more coming. Looking up at Xavier worried, but he won't meet my eyes. My blood chilled and I took a step away from him.

"What have you done?"

An unknown hand grabs me from my back, looking back at his face. I didn't know him, struggling to get out of his grip but he was too strong.

"Xavier?" I whisper his name, what the hell was going on? But Xavier wasn't looking at me, he nodded once at the man holding me. I felt sick, my stomach turned, my chest heaved.

"Xavier, look at me!" I screamed that's the least he could do. "Xavier!" I cried, I fell for it again. I fell for his plan. "Please!" I begged, Josh smiling was now reaching his ears. Trashing against the arms holding me, something pinches into my neck. The man injected me with something.

"I won't ever forgive you, this is your last chance! I'm begging please don't do this." I begged as my eyes grew heavier. "Xavier! Xavier!" I screamed, he was walking away. My surroundings go blurry, I couldn't move my body. I fell limp against the man and my eyes closed.. The last thing I saw was Xavier's back as he walks away.
