After dinner, Yu Xinyue went to the desolate corner at the back mountain before going to her space. The time in her space is much longer, and the spiritual qi is thicker compared to the outside, so she prefers to cultivate in her own space.

She spent everyday training, cultivating, and having her meal with Qi Xiu. And before she knew it, two months had passed.

Her current cultivation is at the seventh level of Qi Gathering Realm. In the eyes of others, she is a rare talent and a genius of cultivation. In just two months, she advanced from the first level of Qi Gathering Realm to the seventh level.

But for Yu Xinyue, her speed is too slow. She has practiced in her own space for a long time, and with her space conditions and those spiritual foods, within a month, she should be able to break through to the foundation establishment realm within a month. Not to mention she practices the Void Lightning cultivation manual which is one of the best cultivation manuals since ancient times.

But for some unknown reason, every time she cultivate, she would find that half of the spiritual qi accumulated in her dantian would disappear within the next hour. She read a lot of jade slips in her library, but still couldn't find out the reason. This problem bothered her and she was worried.

Today, she went to the mission hall after her morning class. Before the new disciples are officially accepted, they cannot receive any mission that requires them to leave the sect. However, they can accept small missions and earn points to exchange with spiritual items. So in the past few months, Yu Xinyue has been taking some small missions related to herbs or alchemy.

Walking to the counter, she clasped her fists and said, "Greetings, Senior sister. I'm here to report my mission."

“Oh, It’s Junior sister Yu. You completed the mission so quickly. No wonder Elder Wen always praises you.” A cheerful girl said while writing on the bamboo slip.

“Senior sister over praises.” Yu Xinyue said with a smile.

“Here is the item you asked about before.” The girl said while giving her a wooden box.

"Thank you, Senior Sister. Then I'll take my leave." Yu Xinyue said after she put away the wooden box.

Inside the wooden box is the demon core that she redeemed with her points. Recently, she is practicing a new alchemy technique, which allows her to refine the demon beast core into pills. Using this technique will increase the potency of the core and allow cultivators to absorb spiritual qi contained in the core more effectively.

What's more, it has lower risk when cultivators refine the spiritual qi contained inside the pills compared to refined the demon beast core directly. She walked to the back mountain and went to her space after making sure no one was around.

In her space, Yu Xinyue is busy making wine. Since the fruits in her space were matured, she decided to make more wine. She likes to drink wine whenever she has a meal. Her wine can help her improve her cultivation faster. What's more, Qi Xiu would buy her wine every three days. After brewing wine, she went to cultivate. She doesn't have much time before the exam.

Demon Realm. Fox Tribe.

"I don't know what kind of wind brought this rare guest to me." Inside the stone hall, an enchanting voice was sounded.

A beautiful girl wearing revealing clothes with a lithe figure came in and sat on a stone chair covered with white fur. She looked at the man wearing a half black mask sitting on the chair below, lust and desire flashed in her red eyes.

Playing with his thumb ring, he said with a sneer, “Keep looking and I’ll gouge your eyes out.”

“So hateful, You won’t even allow me to look at you.” She said while licking her plump red lips.

The next second, a heavy pressure suddenly crashed on her body.

Bang! Crack!

"Cough!" She coughed up blood as her bones were crushed by the pressure. Her body trembled as fear filled her heart.

"Lord, please… please forgive me… This servant dares not." She stammered.

“There is no need to apologize." He said with a smile.

"No.. no.. This servant will do anything.. Please spare this servant." She begged as she cast her charm spell.

He got up from his chair and walked leisurely towards the fox demon.

Step.. Crack! Step.. Crack! Step.. Crack!

Every time he took a step, the pressure increased, and she could feel her dantian being crushed bit by bit. She can't even beg for mercy now.

Seeing her lying on the floor, he said, "You think your little tricks can control me? So naive."

There was regret and fear in her eyes when she saw him raise his hand. The next second, black flames flew towards her body. Black flames engulfed her body and soul, burning her slowly. Leaving only a demon beast core on the floor as it disappeared. With a wave of his palm, the beast core floated towards his palm.

Another month passed and the day for the exam arrived.

Dong! Dong! Dong!

As the bell rang, all the new disciples came to the open field with anticipation, excitement and nervousness at the same time. Today will be the day that defines their future. Standing under the stage with neat lines, the new disciples looked at a young man standing in the center of the stage.

With his hand on his back, he said, “The test for the new disciples will be held for three days. There will be a few courses for you to choose from. Sword, Spell, Alchemy, Herbalogy, Beast tamer, Blacksmith, Formation, Soul Tune, and Divination. Each Disciples must pass at least two courses to be accepted as an outer disciple. The top three disciples in each course will be rewarded with a demon beast core.”

When the new disciples listened to the exam’s rules, their faces ashen. Each course was hard to pass, not to mention they needed to pass at least two courses before they became the outer disciples. ‘This.. isn’t it too cruel?’

Looking at their pale faces, the young man smiled and said, “Cultivation is a bitter and lonely road. Without enough talent and hard work, there is no way you could reach immortality.”

He looked at the sky, and when the sun rose higher, he said, “The test begins!”

When his words fell, the new disciples went to the platform and registered their name. Yu Xinyue walked to the platform and looked at the banner. She plans to take a course in swordsmanship, spell, alchemy, herbalogy, and formation before.

But since they only need to pass two courses, she went to the alchemy and herbalogy table to register her name. There are fewer competitors in these two courses, so her chances of passing the test will increase. After getting the wooden sign, she went to the Alchemy Peak.
