Chapter 16: [Arc – Little Explorer] Chapter 15 – The red flare is clearly visible! Emergency situation in the southern part of the tower!

13:04 p.m.  The altitude is 235 meters above sea level.  The eastern part of the Reliquia tower.

It's useless for us to bother building this pitiful tent, it turns out that the rain didn't fall, the cloudy clouds just passed by and slowly disappeared into the wind. The scorching rays of the main star again shone on us who were standing under one of the tall and fruitful trees.
 
I've wasted a lot of my energy to build something that ended up in vain, now I feel so hungry, my stomach rumbles loudly.  I really wanted to swallow food to relieve the hunger that made me suffer, but our ration stocks were running out, I was confused about what to eat, there were no animals to hunt here, there was only a small eight-legged insect walking on the ground.
 
The insects that walks on the ground is very different from ordinary insects, it is unique in shape, black in color, has skin that looks thick like steel, a wide mouth, two small antennae, and there are fine hairs all over its body.
 
These insects are so disgusting, I want to step on them, but according to a book that discusses the creatures in the Reliquia tower, this insect named Manla, has a very deadly venom, this insect has two sharp fangs that function to inject venom. If humans are bitten by Manla, they will experience severe convulsions and die slowly. However, Manla is not an aggressive insect, Manla will attack if it feels threatened, so I gave up my intention to step on Manla who was walking leisurely at my feet, I didn't want to die silly.
 
“Mom, Ristia’s stomach is rumbling.”  I pulled my mother’s white coat with my right hand, showing a pitiful face.
 
“You can climb this tree and eat the fruit, kid,” my mother said, her eyes drooping.
 
“I don’t want to. That blue fruit looks disgusting, very odd shape, bumpy.”  I shook my head in denial.
 
“Although the shape is ugly, the Limu-limu fruit is quite delicious and has vitamins,” explained my mother, she removed my right hand from her white coat.
 

“Are there any caterpillars in the Limu-limu fruit?”  I asked, tilting my head to the left.
 
“If it depends on your luck, kid...” My mother looked away as she said that.
 
I had a bad feeling that my mother had turned her gaze away. However, I had no other choice, I took a deep breath, exhaled slowly, then I said doubtfully, “W-Well, may luck be with me.”
 
I leaned the big bag I was carrying on a large rock near the bush, then I took off my gloves and shoes, instantly the cold temperature hit my hands and feet, after that I warmed up, then climbed this tall tree to eat Limu-limu fruit  .
 
I am experienced in reading books and sleeping on a soft bed, I have absolutely no experience climbing trees, at first I was hesitant, but after I tried, it turned out that climbing the tree was not too difficult, I was able to climb to the top and pick a Limu-limu which is still fresh.
 
I opened my mouth wide and took a bite of the Limu-limu fruit which was the size of an adult’s fist, then chewed it, it turned out that my mother’s words were true, Limu-limu was very delicious, very sweet. I picked five Limu-limu and ate them one by one.
 
“Mmmmm. Yummy. This fruit is soft and has a lot of water in it.”  I talked to myself, while chewing the fruit slowly.
 
“Ristia! Please drop one Limu-limu for me!”  My mother shouted.
 
“Eh? No, you have to climb if you want to eat Limu-limu!” I refused my mother’s request.
 
“Ah, then I will cut down this tree with Roseliet!”  Threatening my mother, she pulled out Roseliet from the scabbard.
 
“WHAT!? Don’t mom, Ristia will fall later. O-Okay. Ristia will grant your request, just a minute, a minute!”  I panicked after my mother made a really annoying threat. I picked one Limu-limu and dropped it down.  Without looking up, my mother was able to predict the falling position of the Limu-limu fruit and managed to catch it with her right hand.
 
“What kind of ability is that!? I want to learn it!” I exclaimed, astonished at my mother’s extraordinary action.
 
Suddenly, I heard a loud voice from the south, the voice was clearly heard in my ears, when I looked down, my mother was enjoying the Limu-limu fruit, as if she did not hear the loud sound. After I looked carefully, my eyes caught a red flare that was airing in the south direction. I didn’t understand what the flare meant, so I decided to report it to my mother.
 
“Mom, I saw a red flare in the south, one o’clock!”
 
“Red flare? That means something emergency is going on. The south is the path we’ll be taking, maybe we’ll get involved, depending on the situation. Ristia, brace yourselves, we’ll  move!”
 
“Understood!”  I descended from the tree in a slumped manner, then I put back on my gloves and shoes, then carried a large bag that I leaned against a rock.

The two of us ran towards the location where the flare was launched. We went through various kinds of gripping obstacles. We climbed steep hills, jumped puddles of boiling water, crawled through mossy rocky crevices, and clung to vines to cross fast-flowing rivers.
 
After traveling for 2km, we finally reached the point where the flare was fired. We didn’t appear there right away. We hid first behind the bushes. My mother scanned the surroundings using binoculars, she wanted to make sure that the flare was not a trap set by a demon cult. Meanwhile, I also looked around, but used my left hand as fake binoculars.
 
“You found something, mother? Ristia found nothing but grass and shrubs,” I asked, whispering slowly.
 
“You won’t see anything from a distance with the fake binoculars from your hand, you stupid kid,” mocked my mother, she is upset
 
“Hahahaha...” I'm laughing, “Mom looks cute when she's upset.”
 
“Shut up. I can assure that this flare is not a trap. There, in the clearing, I found a group of explorers who were attacked by a legendary monster, Zentanis,” my mother replied, putting the binoculars into a large bag.
 
“Monsters? Mom said there are no monsters at 0-299 meters. We’re still at 250 meters, right?”  I asked, confused.
 
“I don’t know either. How strange. How could that monster not catch fire while crossing the invisible magic barrier at an altitude of 300 meters? It’s most likely that the monster was deliberately spawned using summoning magic.”  My mother touched her chin as she speculated.
 
“If that’s true, then someone summoned the monster. What does that person want?”
 
My mother glanced at me with sad eyes, her right hand touched my hair crest, then she said in a firm voice, “Of course that person wants your life, kid. Summoning magic is a forbidden magic that requires human sacrifice to be used. Ristia, which group do you think the person who summoned this monster came from?
 
“D-Demon worshiping sect....” I was drenched in sweat as I said that.
 
“That’s right. It’s possible that the people we fought in the valley earlier were the victims. Damn, the situation there is getting chaotic, more and more victims are falling. Don’t go anywhere, kid, hiding behind this bush. I will beat that monster as soon as possible. Got it?”
 
“Yes, I understand, mother.”  I salute.

Zentanis, a legendary monster that inhabits an altitude of 11,000 meters to 22,000 meters above sea level.  This monster looks like a male lion, but has a larger body, about 7 meters high and 14 meters wide.  Zentanis has steel thorns on its four legs that serve to immobilize prey.
 
Zentanis has black eyes, but when at night his eye color turns red, this change is a sign that Zentanis is able to see in the dark. In addition, on the creature’s back, there was a gray magic that had quite a lot of power. The number of Zentanis in the Reliquia tower is not much, according to calculations taken from the explorers’ reports, there are around 50 Zentanis hanging around this large tower. Even though they are few in number, one Zentanis is capable of claiming the lives of thousands of professional explorers. Only a person with magic control skills could injure Zentanis, because the monster’s skin was too hard and difficult for ordinary weapons to penetrate.

“Help me! Please help me!” A young male explorer screamed in fright, he crawled back in a hurry as Zentanis walked up to him and intimidated him.
 
When the hideous monster was about to lift one of its legs to claw at the young explorer, suddenly Roseliet slid fast towards the monster’s head. Zentanis noticed the presence of my mother’s flying weapon, the creature quickly dodged backwards. After I analyzed, the monster was able to double the speed and lightness of the body through the magic on its back, so that the creature can lighten its heavy body.
 
My mother’s weapon landed on the ground and arise a pink rose tattoo on it. My mother used the mark to shorten the time, she sped up and instantly was at the point where the rose tattoo was.
 
“Mrs. Lestari!?”  The young explorer was surprised and happy, he felt relieved because of the Commander.
 
“Oi, the Commander in Chief has come to save us!”  exclaimed a 40-year-old male explorer happily.
 
“We’re saved!” exclaimed a 25-year-old female explorer.
 
“Thank you, God....” The heavily injured explorer raised his hands to the sky, he expressed gratitude to the ruler of the universe.
 
Other explorers who were at the scene were also happy with the presence of the Commander in Chief. Their morale immediately rose. They cheered. Their spirits are burning. They took up arms with the intention of helping defeat the monster named Zentanis.
 
“Retreat all of you! You won’t be able to fight Zentanis! I don’t want the number of casualties to increase again!” My mother called out for orders, swinging her right arm to the side, shooing the group of explorers away.
 
“Understood!” The members of the Skyscrapers shouted and saluted in unison, then they evacuated their dead and injured comrades to a safer place.
 
Zentanis suddenly launched an attack, the creature roared and ran towards my mother. Not staying still, my mother flew Roseliet in hopes of hitting Zentanis’ body and injuring him. However, Zentanis dodged to the right, shot fast, and suddenly the monster was to my mother’s left. The creature spread its sharp claws and swung one of its legs to shred my mother.
 
“What a terrible move! That monster is so agile, my eyes didn’t get to see Zentanis shifting to my mother’s side!” I screamed with panic.
 
My mother turned to the left, glanced at Zentanis with sad eyes, she was just silent, she didn’t do anything, as if she was letting the monster hurt her.
 
“What are you doing mom!? Why don’t you dodge!?” I screamed, holding my head in both hands. I am very worried. I’m afraid something bad will happen to my mother.
 
SWING!!! Zentanis claws tore my mother’s body.
 
However, it was not the blood that was pouring out of my mother’s body, but a thousand of flaming pink rose petals. Before long, my mother’s body melted into a pile of roses.
 
I am surprised. I understand the strategy my mother used. She made a kind of artificial body that resembled herself, then she brought Zentanis into the attack range, she used her power properly, she was really experienced in fighting.
 
I stood up, stepped out of the thicket, pointed at the bastard monster with my right hand, then shouted and smiled broadly, “CHECKMATE!!!”
 
My mother appeared from the sky carrying a big pink magic ball in her right hand.
 
“DIE YOU!!!”  My mother slammed the magic ball into Zentanis’s back with great force and there was a huge explosion that caused a rush of strong winds.
 
Zentanis suffered a heavy wound to the back after receiving a powerful attack from my mother. The creature’s back was charred, its skin crushed, and its flesh peeling off. However, Zentanis wasn’t dead yet, the monster just weakened and collapsed without being able to move.
 
Not wanting to lose momentum, my mother call Roseliet back and jumped on top of Zentanis’ head, when the weapon was in her right hand, she brutally slit Zentanis’ throat and threw the creature’s head away.
 
Red blood gushed from Zentanis’s body, staining my mother’s body, she cleaned the blood from Roseliet and put it back in the scabbard. My mother descended from the lifeless body of the legendary monster, then she gave the explorers a code by fiddling with her fingers.  The code contains an order to launch a green flare to call the medical team from the city of Samise.
 
A leader of the explorer group saluted to my mother, before he finally shot a green flare into the sky using an automatic launcher.
 
I left my hiding place, ran to my mother. I grinned widely, then exclaimed, “My mom is the best! Good job mom!”
 
The moment I appeared, the Skyscraper members who were at the scene immediately put on a confused look on their face. They watched me from a distance. They wonder each other. They asked about the color of my hair, eyes, and my status as the daughter of a Skyscraper Commander.
 
I ignore them all. I kept running to my mother. I really admire her way of fighting which is really clever.
 
 Suddenly....
 
“ROARRRRR!!!”
 
From within Zentanis’s body, a large demon with five horns emerged. The red-eyed demon stood mightily on top of Zentanis’ corpse while holding a large spear.
 
“W-What!?  W-why can a demon appear from within that monster’s body!?” My body instantly paled when I saw a terrifying demon.
 
“....” My mother was taken aback.
 
“OI! WHY THERE IS A DEMON!?” The members of the Skyscrapers who were at the location were so shocked, they screamed in fear and their bodies were shaking violently.
 
The demon looked at me, he pointed at me, and said a sentence in a broken voice, “Zo-lo-ta-ya Ro-za.”
