The Crown Prince nodded. "Very well."

He drew his sword from its scabbard and raised it. Li Yingshan bolted forward, making the first move. He held his sword vertically, blocking her arced attack. But the force behind her attack was strong, and it caused him to stumble back a few steps. But she kept pursuing thanks to her qinggong.

He was well-versed in military tactics and fighting. She was well-versed in sword techniques and maneuvers. Though their strengths were different, they were well-matched to balance each other out.

Her feet touched the ground, and she glared at him. His grip tightened around the hilt of his sword. He lunged and jabbed outwards. She spun on the balls of her feet, narrowly avoiding the sharp edge of his blade. She brought up her sword and knocked him off course. He reflexively whipped around and somersaulted in the air, flying back towards her. She parried his attack and planted her feet into the ground, preventing herself from retreating. They glared at each other, and if looks could kill, they both would've been dead.

"Third Young Lady Li, my troops are well trained. What makes you think you'll win this battle?"

"I have over five thousand, rigorously chosen, well-cultivated martial artists. What makes you think you'll win this battle?"

"Cheeky," he quipped.

"Arrogant," she snapped.

Li Yingshan spun suddenly, throwing the Crown Prince off balance. She hit him with the flat edge of her blade, knocking him backwards. Surging forward, she aimed the tip of her sword straight at his heart. But he blocked her just in time. Instead of his heart, her sword sunk into his left shoulder. He grunted in pain. She yanked back on the sword, pulling it out of his wound. Flying backwards, she left his attack range.

"Your Highness, do you wish to admit your defeat?"

"Defeat? Ch! What defeat?!"

He shot forward and swiped out at her. She leaned backwards. Her eyes widened as his blade cut across above her face. She rose up and spun in the air. Landing on her feet, she pointed her sword at him. That was when he noticed the two characters etched onto the steel of her blade. His eyes widened.

"That sword. It's the legendary Wudan sword, isn't it?"

She raised her chin proudly. "Of course. My father gave it to me long ago. Without strife, without worry, one can live a peaceful lifeI made this line up, but as a reminder, Wudan means "without worry"."

He eyed her sword warily. She chuckled.

"Your Highness, would you rather I fight with my Crescent Blades? If I do, you will stand no chance against me."

To prove her words true, Wudan disappeared. Her Crescent Blades appeared in her hands. She used her Shooting Stars Maneuver to get to him in an instant. Without warning, she was already behind him. His neck was trapped between her and her Crescent Blade. At this moment, the Crown Prince realized he had truly underestimated the Goddess of Moonlight Pagoda.

Meanwhile, four different battles raged on each side of Moonlight Pagoda.

Miao Chuntao and Bai Henbie led disciples to fight soldiers in the front and prevent them from entering Moonlight Pagoda. They dashed their way through the heavily armored soldiers and slew a great many. With their freedom of movements, how couldn't they have the upper hand?

Hong Mengxin and more disciples defended the east side, protecting many of the residences. More soldiers pressed towards them, but they fought back. A fire burned in their hearts. Determination filled their eyes. No one wanted to die. No one wanted to lose the battle. No one wanted to disappoint their Goddess.

Si Nian with his group of disciples fought on the west side, keeping the Imperial troops away from the library, archives, and armory. This mission was crucial. The knowledge and power within these three buildings could bring down the world. They had to be protected. No matter what.

On the south side, Guan Hu and the disciples with him maintained the Galaxy Shield while under duress from the hidden archers. They had been bombarded, basically ambushed. But after having reacted quickly, there were few casualties. But they also knew Li Yingshan had been smart in protecting each side of Moonlight Pagoda. Otherwise, the archers would've done a lot more damage. And that wasn't something they were willing to let happen.

Li Yingshan stood over a one-kneed Crown Prince. Her sword tip was just alongside his neck. He seethed at his defeat, but she wasn't the best martial artist in the Jianghu for nothing.

"Have I won our little bet yet, Your Highness? If so, then give me Feifei and I'll let you and the rest of your troops leave. If you don't, then I will kill you. And I won't stop killing your men until I find her."

He snarled. "We don't know who's won just yet."

"Oh?" An intrigued look crossed her face as she tilted her head. "Do you have a death wish?"

"No, but you do."

He jumped up, shocking her. She knocked his blade away and pointed her sword at his heart. He froze.

"I'd run your heart through, but I'm afraid you don't have one. Pity, I think it'd be satisfying to see your heart bleed out."

"Damn you, Li Yingshan!"

Before she could react, he circled his right hand around her sword, cutting it. As blood dripped onto the ground between them, he stepped forward. Her eyes widened. She tried pulling her weapon away, but he held it steady.

"Y- you!"

He coughed, and bright red blood poured from his lips. "Li Yingshan, you tried to kill me before. Now, you've gotten your wish."

No, everything I know about Chen Kai tells me he wouldn't give up like this. What is he planning?

Suddenly, she heard the screams of her disciples. Panic filled her eyes. Leaving the Crown Prince with her Wudan sword, she flew up to the top of her pagoda. Looking out, she noticed what had happened.

"The Third Prince," she breathed in horror. "No..."

I've doomed Moonlight Pagoda. We've barely held off the Crown Prince and his five battalions. But we're tired and weakened. With the Third Prince and his fresh forces, how can we survive today?

She flew back down and stormed over to the Crown Prince. Gripping his clothes, she snarled in his face.

"You even brought the Third Prince. Truly, you're asking for death. I will never let you win."

He laughed manically, "Hahaha! This is fate! You dare to mess with the royal family?! Hahahaha!"

Fury raged inside of her. Knowing he was dying anyways, she yanked Wudan out of his chest. Li Yingshan flew back up to the top beam of Moonlight Pagoda. A sadness filled her eyes.

Hero Xu, since you wish I were still dead, I'll grant your wish.

She began a complex martial arts technique. One she had created herself.

Suddenly, her voice rang out over every inch of Moonlight Pagoda. "If you royals really think you can defeat the strongest sect in the Jianghu, think again! If you royals really think you can destroy out spirit, think again! If you royals really think I'd give up this fight so easily, think again!"

As her eyes blazed with a supreme killing intent, she launched her technique. "COSMOS RAINING HAILFIRE!"
