Every disciple of Moonlight Pagoda stopped fighting and saluted towards the main building, paying their respects. They all knew that Cosmos Raining Hailfire was the ultimate skill of Moonlight Pagoda.

The Imperial soldiers gaped at the sight above them. The Third Prince's eyes widened. The Crown Prince was furious.

As Wudan circled in a full rotation, hundreds of balls of blazing red fire began to fall from the sky. They exploded all around Moonlight Pagoda, targeting the Imperial soldiers. In all four directions, scorched armor marked the deaths of thousands of men. The disciples of Moonlight Pagoda gaped.

Truly this was the ultimate skill their Goddess had invented.

Above them all, Li Yingshan shook from the massive drain the technique took on her internal force. Swaying, she struggled to stand straight on the top beam.

But what no one knew was that Cosmos Raining Hailfire could only reach its greatest potential if the user was willing to sacrifice their life. Li Yingshan had used up all of her internal force and strength to give as much power to the fireballs as she could.

As her eyelids fluttered, one thought pervaded her mind: Hero Xu, I've fulfilled your wish. We don't owe each other anything anymore.

Her body toppled from the top of Moonlight Pagoda. Wudan fell out of her hand. As she fell, her eyes closed. Halfway to the ground, a figure appeared out of nowhere. A strong pair of arms wrapped under and pulled her against a sturdy chest. Seeing the events happening, Miao Chuntao left Bai Henbie and dashed inside. Wudan clanged against the ground in front of her. She reached the two just as the man landed softly on his feet.

"Goddess!"

"Careful, Ms. Li is gravely injured."

The man held her bride-style in his arms. Miao Chuntao bowed to him respectfully.

"Your Highness, Goddess didn't think you'd come."

Chen Chengxian looked down at the woman in his arms. "Is her husband here?"

Miao Chuntao shook her head. "He's back in Longxin City. They had a falling out."

Anger flashed in his eyes as he growled, "Is he not man enough to fight at her side? What husband won't protect his wife?"

She lowered her head. "He didn't want her meddling in political affairs any longer. But she insisted, so they had a huge argument. It ended in her leaving and going back to find you in Nanjing."

He held onto Li Yingshan tightly. "Where can I take her to recuperate? Her pulse is very weak. If I don't transfer some internal force to her soon, she will die."

Miao Chuntao's eyes widened. "Come with me."

She flew up, and he followed. They landed on the balcony of the top floor. She headed inside first, and he entered a moment later.

"Is this her room?"

"Yes. Though she's rarely ever lived here."

Chen Chengxian set Li Yingshan down on the bed. Sitting behind her, he began to transfer some of his internal force to her.

He murmured quietly, "If you were mine, I wouldn't have made you fight alone. I'm sorry I doubted you before, Ms. Li. If you wake up, I won't push you away again."

Miao Chuntao saluted. "Your Highness, I'll go get some medicine prepared."

He nodded, and she left. Concentrating, he continued to transfer his internal force to her. When he had given her half of his internal force, he ended the transfusion and laid her down. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he took her pulse. This time, it was much steadier than when he had first caught her. A sigh of relief escaped his lips.

"Don't worry, Ms. Li. My men are here now. They'll take care of my brothers' soldiers."

Miao Chuntao returned a little while later and handed it over to Chen Chengxian. He swirled the spoon in the bowl before blowing on it. Reaching over, he opened her mouth slightly. Then, he began to slowly spoon-feed Li Yingshan the medicine.

"Your Highness, thank you for taking care of Goddess."

"It's nothing," he replied. "She's helped me. So if I can repay her kindness, why wouldn't I then?"

When the bowl was empty, he set it aside on a small square table. Then, he stood.

"I'm going to go meet my brothers. Keep an eye on her."

"Yes, Your Highness." Miao Chuntao bowed respectfully.

Chen Chengxian leapt down from the top floor of Moonlight Pagoda and walked over to find his brothers. He entered a medical tent and found his third brother, Chen Erxing陈二星 chén èrxīng - given name meaning "Second Star", nursing his seventh brother. His eyes narrowed.

"Erxing. You have always hated Kai. Why suck up to him now?"

Chen Erxing looked at him. "Chengxian, you've chosen the wrong side."

He groaned before sitting up. After yawning, a smile broke out on his lips.

"You're finally awake."

"Did you save me?"

Chen Chengxian nodded. "I gave you half of my internal force to stabilize you. Otherwise, you were going to die."

"If dying means saving my sect, then so be it."

"Then you sacrificed too soon."

Her eyebrows furrowed. "What do you mean?"

"My fourth and fifth brothers will be here tomorrow. Can you still fight? Otherwise, I'm afraid even my men are no match for four of my brothers all at once."

"The Crown Prince isn't dead?"

"Erxing was nursing him. I don't how badly you injured him."

"I ran his non-existent heart through," she growled. "How is that bastard not dead yet?"

He held her hand in his. "Ms. Li, I'm sorry. I let my generals talk me out of helping you. If I had come earlier, perhaps your losses wouldn't have been as great. I also won't let you fight alone anymore. Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere until my brothers are thoroughly defeated."

Her heart swelled with gratitude. "Thank you, you have no idea how much your words mean to me."

"What was that technique you used today?"

Biting her lip, she replied, "Cosmos Raining Hailfire. One can do it without much consequence, except for the loss of some internal force. But for the greatest effect, one has to be willing to give up their life."

"Did you create it?"

She nodded. "Long ago. I never thought I'd use it."

"Is there anyone else who is strong enough to do it and survive?"

"There's only one person I can think of. But he's not here."

"Who is it?"
