Chapter 180: Not In The Present, Not In The Future

Five days passed in a blink of an eye. 

Xia Sha has been trying to keep herself from contacting Guan Xian by moving house. Yes, pretending to be busy is the only way for her to remain sane these days. Thus she decided to fixed her mind on her new apartment so she could divert her attention. 

She had no issues left with mother Shen, but she found it hard to act like before after she knew the truth. On one side, she is glad her mother could survive and healthy as ever. But on the other side, she had this uncomfortable feeling hidden deep inside her heart. 

She doesn't understand what happened to her relationship with her mother. It was confusing before, and it remains confusing after. 

She might need that little getaway from everyone and calm herself. So moving out from the Shen residence seems like a good idea for now. Mother Shen is a little upset by Xia Sha's decision, but she respected her.

These past five days, Xia Sha had decorated and made her apartment comfortable now. Thanks to her overworking nature, Xia Sha had successfully turned her new home not only pleasant for the house owner but also presentable for welcoming guests. 

Hence, Xia Sha, whose officially living alone right now, is throwing a housewarming party with her closest friend. 

By mentioning her closest friend, she means Kai Xin and Zheng Shuang only. 

There is no way she could invite Guan Xiao Ni after what she had done to Guan Xian. Even though she wished she could join her little party. 

And for Ruan Jing Tian, she won't felt comfortable pretending to be alright before they clear the air between them. It just that she could never expect that two uninvited guests would join her little house tour. 

"This is the guest room," Xia Sha said before she chugged a mouthful of champagne from the glass on her beautiful hand. 

"Xia Sha! Are you out of your mind? How could you make this happen?!" Xiao Ni let out an excited squeal when she saw what Xia Sha has done to her guest room. 

"I told you, she is often not human. How could a normal person finished decorating a newly bought apartment this fast?" Zheng Shuang murmured and followed Kai Xin examing the guest room. 

"My Lord! Xia Sha!" Kai Xin's eyes got redded once she sees a little crib on the sides of the wall. She fastens her steps, taking out a soft little pillow inside the small bed. 

"Has I told you how sweet you are?" Kai Xin pouted while resting her head against the pillow she holds. 

Xia Sha's lips curved into small smiles as she looked at Kai Xin's sincere gaze. A mixed feeling of guilt and happiness filled the hallow on her chest. 

"Well-" Xia Sha is about to say something when she catches Ruan Jing Tian's figure from the corner of her eyes. The moment Xia Sha realized she stood next to Ruan Jing Tian, she immediately averted her gaze and walked into the room. 

"Everyone is welcome to sleep here. Including my precious nephew," Xia Sha fixed her focus on Kai Xin, the happy mommy. 

"Hm, this place is convenient indeed," Ruan Jing Tian suddenly mumbles as he followed Xia Sha to get into the guest room. 

"Ruan Jing Tian! What are you thinking? You can't sleep here before you changed your sex!" Guan Xiao Ni widens her eyes in panic. The protest and fury in her tone are palpable to everyone. 

Her bright, big eyes shot straight at Ruan Jing Tian as Xiao Ni become alerted. Guan Xian's sad face come upon her mind as soon as she heard Ruan Jing Tian's voice. 

Oh no! She almost forgot her goal of coming to Xia Sha's new house today. She needs to carry on her mission and help Guan Xian keep an eye on Ruan Jing Tian. 

Gosh! How can she forget about that? 

She remembers being panicked when she read their group chat. 

Ruan Jing Tian volunteering to drive to Xia Sha's new apartment as soon as Zheng Shuang asked them about it. Xiao Ni is pretty sure Xia Sha did not invite her to the housewarming party. 

And judging from Ruan Jing Tian's fast response, he most likely did not get invited either. 

As Guan Xian's good little sister that he had doted his whole life, Xiao Ni would never let Ruan Jing Tian steal Xia Sha from her brother. She passes this information to Guan Xian at an instant. 

That is also how she could thicken her face to attend a party without an invitation card :) -It's not like she never did this before. 

So, She should not let her brother down like this! Never in her watch.

"Guan Xiao Ni, what are you thinking? I'm talking about the baby and Kai Xin," Ruan Jing Tian let out a dry laugh, raising his eyebrow at Xiao Ni.

Xiao Ni almost wanted to roll her eyes in front of Ruan Jing Tian. But the other party pretend so well. It would be a shame as an actress if she could not outshine his performance. 

"Oh, you are? I'm talking about you tho," Xiao Ni posed beautiful smiles that said 'being shameless in my expertise. I learned from the best.' 

Ruan Jing Tian: "..." 

"Well, even it's never really a big matter before. Ruan Jing Tian sometimes stays over at our places. Don't worry, Xiao Ni," Zheng Shuang gives a reassuring smile to Xiao Ni, not knowing it would make Xiao Ni's eyes contracted and grew wider than before.

"WHAT??? Ruan Jing Tian sleep around your places?" Xiao Ni's jaw dropped to the floor before she gives Ruan Jing Tian a stern gaze.

"Why did you sleep around people's places? Don't you don't have a house? Do you sleep-driving?" 

Ruan Jing Tian: "..."

Ruan Jing Tian suddenly regretted he ever had crushes on Guan Xiao Ni. He should have known that crush, is better left as crushes. Sometimes we only like someone because we don't know enough about them.

"They were throwing a sleep-over party! Without me! How would that make me feel? Of course, I should stay over. I don't want to miss out and look like an idiot the day after they had the sleep-over," Ruan Jing Tian furrowed his eyebrow. 

The only way to deal with impossible people is being impossible as well.

Xiao Ni gasped and looked at Ruan Jing Tian with an exaggerated disbelief face. She turned to Xia Sha and pointed at Ruan Jing Tian. 

"Xia Sha, no matter when, how, what, if Ruan Jing Tian is going to stay over with you, I am going to tag along!" 

Xia Sha about to opens her mouth to say something when Xiao Ni stopped her with her index finger that she put on her lips. 

"Nah, I don't accept any excuses for rejection." 

The four of them were utterly speechless upon hearing Xiao Ni's exclamation. Her face fills with dissatisfaction the more she looked at Ruan Jing Tian. 

"Xiao Ni, did senior Guan Xian said something? Why does it sound like he used you to say the things he could not say himself?" Zheng Shuang suddenly raised her eyebrow. There is a trace of playfulness in her facial expression. 

Kai Xin is smiling to herself while she sat on the bed where Xia Sha followed her. 

"My brother? He had nothing to do with this. I'm just worried about the three of you. No matter how gay Ruan Jing Tian could be, he is still a guy who could produce you-know-what," Xiao Ni tried to avoid her eyes to Ruan Jing Tian's secretive part, but it's unavoidable. 

Xiao Ni quickly averted her gaze when she met Ruan Jing Tian's flushed cheek. 

"You! How could you woman bully a man like me? This is part of sexual harassment for men, aren't you aware of that?" Ruan Jing Tian's face turned as dark as Zeus's angry cloud. 

Xiao Ni suddenly felt his words were reasonable, hence feeling guilty for the things she said to him. Brushing her hand and pressing her lips, she apologized to Ruan Jing Tian. 

"Well, that sounds right. I'm sorry. I should not say that" Xiao Ni swallowed her pride and apologized. 

Xia Sha feels the uncomfortable air surround the room as Xiao Ni and Ruan Jing Tian stared at each other without saying any words. Ruan Jing Tian was probably surprised by how easily Xiao Ni set aside her pride and apologized. But he could not mention it as casually as before since he knew that Xiao Ni knew about the things that happened with Xia Sha at the airport. 

Ruan Jing Tian cleared his throat, prepared himself to reply to Xiao Ni's apology.

"Well, your argument is logical. I understand. But don't worry, Kai Xin, Zheng Shuang, and Xia Sha were almost like a sister to me. I would not possibly do anything to harm them.. Not in the present, not in the future."
