Chapter 2: Ch.2- Shoggoth

I decided to begin my exploration of the ocean, however this time I'm not going to use drones, I want to explore by myself, after all I have plenty of time.

To make my exploration easier I will take an exoskeleton.

To tell the truth, it would be far easier to simply become a cyborg...I mean, I'm already a cyborg in the sense that my mind is connected to the ship.

But what I mean whit "becoming a cyborg" is the part of replacing body parts whit mechanical organs.

I feel reluctant...I would not feel human.

That reminds me, there was a time when most humans were some type of cyborg.

Back when we didn't have enough technology to change our appearance without replacing the flesh, becoming a cyborg was a common practice.

But this was a long time ago, at that time I wasn't even born. In fact this appearance is actually artificial, at the beginning, I was a cat-girl.

Thanks to genetical infusion we could create any type of humans we wanted.

The decision of making me a cat girl was by my parents.

After they had died, I changed to the white-aired, dream like girl that I'm today, kinda silly of me calling myself a human...

Anyway, I should probably start.

After leaving the ship, a cold air welcomes me. The cold temperature is actually simulated, the exoskeleton has a protective layer against these types of things.

The reason why I'm simulating the low temperature is simple.

It helps increasing immersion.

It's -89 degrees right now so I feel like I'm freezing, although is all in my mind, this feeling is painful, I won't change it though, after all I feel more alive like this.

Without realizing it 12 weeks have already past, I can see the ocean in the distance.

On a closer look, I can see a great multitude of microbes and microscopic creatures. I can even see a kind of plankton.

Contrary to the surface, living beings visible to the naked eye are present to. They are pretty much invertebrates.

Ok let's dive in.

The ocean is incredibly deep, According to the data collected, this one reaches 11,638 m.

I wonder what's the reason of its depth maybe its due t-...mm...I just felt a pretty sharp pain.

After checking, I discover that it is due to my exoskeleton. It seem to be trying to simulate the pain I would fell if I was in the deep part of the ocean.

Ah, by the way I'm right now at 10,000 m deep. I didn't even notice that 89 years have already past, it feels like it was just a second ago.

During all this time I didn't found anything interesting, just some microbes and stuff, it seems that the ocean is not as interesting as it seemed...or maybe it is!

Just saw another type of creature using magecraft, this one looks like a microscopic squid.

It seems to be using magecraft to protect himself from the pressure, interesting, I wonder what he eats.

I sit on the couch, feeling relaxed, after a expedition there is nothing better than just sit around and do nothing.

Using magecrat I make a glass of milk float to me, right now I can use magecraft really easily, it seems like the more atoms with dark properties, the better.

 Though I can only use the equivalent of telekinesis, anything other than that its impossible...for now.

A dron brings a lot of biscuits, I don't really need to eat but it feels good to do it.

Just in time the AI finish making the movie, it's 17 hours long, let's watch it!

Mmm..the movie was alright, I mean if it was any human from 500 million years ago, they probably rated a masterpiece.

But personally I feel that if it isn't something real there is no point in watching it.

Maybe that's why I used to be so bored before, cause there was nothing new, and everything was repetitive.

...Well, I should probably start checking on the weird squid again.

As I head to the lab a few ideas occur to me, what if I mix in the squid human DNA, maybe I can create I type of Shoggoth.

I already this a few times but compared to before this on will be able to use magecraft.

Let's do it.

Without further distractions, I recreate artificial human DNA and inject it into the strange squid. Probably in 2 years it will be completed I will wait a bit while I continue with my investigation.
