Chapter 1: Prologue

Gather around my children, deities of light and dark, and those who are neutral.

Today I ask you what it means to be a supreme being over all other living creatures. Does it fill your heart with joy and make you smile? Knowing that you are the very thing that these races look up to in awe?

They all sing your praises when you're merciful and cower in fright, when you're enraged. You shower your blessings and favor on the ones you deem worthy and crush the ones you deem rebellious. We've been doing this since the beginning of time.

Without any issues, the races rolled over like good pets and went with that very system.

Now let me ask you, how would you feel knowing that this very system caused humans to rebel against us? I am sure you'll just laugh it off, because what can a mere human do?

However, it would be a grave error to think that way. Humans are known as vengeful beings, and crossing the wrong one may spell the end for you. Nine years ago, during the great disaster of Esbeth, one of us made that very same error.

That grave error sent one of them on a long path, all in the name of revenge. Whoever you are, I hope you take pride in the monster you created as we sit back and look at his story.
