Gorin stood by a river that passed through the forest. He squatted down and looked down at his reflection in the water. Staring for a while, he sighed and put his hands into the cold river water. He used the water to wash his face.
He took out the rag of before and soaked it in the water, then washing it. He brought it out squeezed the water out of it then dried it with his hand that glowed red. He fixed his bandana tied around his head and stood up. He turned around and walked in the direction behind him arriving at a clearing where a house stood.
The house was quite big. It was made out of wood gotten from the trees around and was a storey building. Gorin walked through the main doors of the house into the spacious living room that was well furnished.
He looked around to discover that there was not a single soul to be seen. He walked to the breadth of the room westward and opened a door. The door led to a railed balcony, he didn't find anyone there either so walked back inside.
He walked to a door that was opposite the main door and walked through it. He arrived at a courtyard that had a big plant at it's centre. Around where rooms joined together at their breadths.
Sobbing sounds could be heard coming from the first room at the west side. He walked towards the room to see it's doors wide open. In front of him was a boy and two dead bodies.
The boy sat on the ground holding the sleeves of a man. The man sat on the floor next to him with his back against the bed and head lowered.
A few centimetres away, was a woman. Her long light brown hair spurred on the ground, her face pale with a line of blood coming out of her mouth.
He walked closer to the boy who kept on crying.
" Dad ... wa...ke up." He sobbed shaking his dad's sleeve.
Gorin looked at the child and walked up to him. He knelt down facing the child. He then placed his hand on the child's head. The child tried to move away but when he looked at the owner of the hand's face, he stopped struggling and hugged him. Gorin was surprised for a second but hugged him back.
" Big brother Gorin." He sobbed.
At this moment Ashli arrived at the front of the room door. He looked at the scene in front of him and examined closely. Then walked out the room into a room at the far side of the courtyard.
He opened the door, and entered into the room. On the ground sat an old man with a similar position as the man before. His back was rested against a desk, his hands and legs spurred out. Out of his mouth and nostril came out a trail of blood. His dark brown eyes wide open. His light brown goatie stained with blood and his head bald and shiny.
Ashli walked up to him, knelt, clasped his hands and shut his eyes muttering a few words. He then opened his eyes giving a bow. Then proceeded in examining the injuries on his body. On his chest were claw marks which leaked blood.
In his abdomen were four puncture wounds that seemed to be made by claws. Corrugated blood were around the wound and fresh blood dripped down from the wound. It stained his clothes and there was blood on the floor. His face was pale and body cold. Ashli put a hand over the dead man’s eyes closing it. He gave a bow and then walked out the room.
He came out to see Gorin standing in front of the kid who sat at the door of the room where his parents lay. He held his elbows round his legs, his head on his curled up legs crying. Gorin looked at him then turned around and walked towards the direction where Ashli stood. He passed him and walked into the room where the old man was. Ashli turned around and looked at him.
" He seems to have been killed by a wild beast considering those marks." Ashli said.
Gorin looked at the old man's wounds, examining closely. He then turned him on his stomach to show his also injured back. He saw that the claws pierced all the way through his stomach and out his back living an injury. Then after almost over looking it, he noticed a tiny needle at the centre of the old man's back.
He pulled out the needle drawing blood. Then he examined it, there wasn't anything weird about it's appearance. So he brought the needle to his nose and smelt it. He carefully laid the man's back on the desk and stood up leaving the room. He saw Ashli waiting outside the room.
" Find anything?" Ashli asked.
"Hmmm." Gorin replied.
He went to another room, searched but found no one in it. He checked around but the other rooms were empty. He then went to meet the child who was crying.
" Huga, do you know where Icilan is?" He asked him.
The child shook his head, Gorin wanted to stand up but Huga, the kid, held his sleeve.
" Big brother Gorin, why was my family killed?sob sob... Why did they die." Huga sobbed crying in a loud voice.
Gorin put a hand on his shoulder as Ashli walked over.
" I'll help you find who did these." Gorin comforted.

Ashli knelt on one knee and put a hand on Huga's shoulder.
" Don't cry anymore little kid, I'll also try my best to help you avenge your parents." Ashli said
Gorin looked at him for a moment then looked at the child.
" Huga I promise as long as I find the person who caused this they wouldn't go free. I promise to make them regret ever doing this." Gorin added.
" Come on let's go build a grave for them so they can rest peacefully" Gorin said as Huga looked at him with teary eyes, nodded as held back his sobs.
Gorin and Ashli dug graves for the dead, buried them and carved wood for their headstones. Huga knelt down in front of his parents' and grandfather's graves paying his respects and saying his goodbyes, sobbing as he did all these. Gorin and Ashli also payed their respects to the dead.
They then headed into the living room and took a sit. Gorin and Ashli sat opposite each other with a table between them. Huga sat some inches away with his back on the wall, crying. Gorin and Ashli where silent for a while.
" Thanks for your help." Gorin said.
" Happy to help." Ashli replied.
" More importantly, from my observations it seems as though they were killed by a beast considering the claw marks on the bodies and floor. And it's not uncommon for some wild beast to kill and not eat the victim, as some kill for pleasure." Ashli said.
" It wasn't a wild beast." Gorin said putting down the needle on the table.
" I found this on the old man and it contains poison." Gorin said as Ashli picked it up examining it and smelling it.
" It does smell funny. Do you know what kind of poison?" Ashli asked.
"It's a kind of Heart poison¹ called the Heart Melting Poison. As the name implies, it is a poison that makes your heart melt once inside the body. The speed of the poison depends on the amount taken." Gorin said.
" A needle like that fully coated with poison, takes about a minute and half to complete his effects. So it's quite dangerous and not easy to come by." Gorin continued.
" So how did the killer get hold of this poison and why make it seem as though a beast did it." Ashli wondered.
" Aren't you going to watch your hands, there's probably still poison on that." Gorin commented
" Yeah, right, thanks!" Ashli said as he stood up and went to wash his hands.A minute or so later he came back.
" Now that I think about it, was there any poison used on the others?" Ashli asked.
" No." Gorin replied.
" Then the poison might have been used as a last resort." Ashli muttered.
" That's more likely." Gorin said.
" But how did they get it in the first place." Ashli pondered.
" Well, the poison might be rare but it's not impossible to obtain with enough resources. But those who have access to it are the Poison Assassins Organization, the Black Assassins and some high class people who secretly purchase them from these organizations." Gorin said.
" But the poison assassins organization only use poisons, so it most likely won't be them. While the black assassins are quite unknown, but it's known that they use any method ranging from brutal force to poisons as required to complete their mission. So it might be them." Ashli said.
" It might be a rich folk though, probably doing this to steal their land and property." Gorin said.
" Probably." Ashli agreed as he sighed. He looked at Huga then at Gorin.
" By the way who's Icilan?" Ashli asked.
" He's his brother." Gorin said pointing to Huga who just stared blankly at the wall opposite him. Ashli looked at who he pointed at then looked at him again.
Gorin looked at Huga again then stood up and went to meet him. He brought a circle bread out of his storage ring and extended his arm to give him.
" Here, have it." Gorin said as Huga shook his head implying no.
" Take it, you've probably not eaten anything this morning." Gorin said, but Huga was unresponsive.
Gorin knelt down in front of him. He placed the bread beside him and stood up going back to his sit. A growling sounded from Huga's stomach and a few moments later Huga was munching on the bread while crying.
Huga soon fell asleep and they took him to bed and kept on discussing. They didn't go to sleep until late at night.
