Chapter 3: Ch2 Inviting guetst

At first there was confusion. Did the wolf think we can understand him without a problem? Even the other canines were mostly looking confused. Was he writting those things called novels and wanted our opinion?

A bear which wasn't smaller than the wolf finally stood up and walked towards the pond. If it understood the wolf right, wouldn't that mean?

As it neared itself and bowed it heard something in it's head.

"Bear bro! Come have a drink, you were holding the wintersleep right? Didn't see you for long!"

So began the next round of "talking" with an older monster. After a whole day did the message from the pond finally circulate in the mountain among its sapient habitants.

The pond also finally found out that there were even two more old monsters who were calling this mountain its home.

The bear was the best to communicate with. After only half an hour, they could even go one up from yes/no questions to wrong/true!

The old monsters included the wolf, the bear, a moose,a beetle, a bird and a fire? spewing serpent. The latter two did never come to drink.

The serpent was sleeping while the bird flew down the mountain to hunt at a bigger pond? That was what he got at least.

Days passed by and the pond slowly became from a place to woreship water to a place to woreship a god.

It was no wonder after the pond didn't have to look out for the animals and monsters anymore. He didn't want to scare away the only living things he encountered so he didn't have much time to experiment with his skills.

First was the Body Control skill. It found out that it wasnt like it could move every water! It seems that the body it reffered to was only the pond. Maybe it needed water control skill?

After getting it to B it was content. It could make different shapes with it and move it accordingly.

Next was the Air Control skill. At one point it made a windblow so strong that the bear who was "talking" with it fell back from sitting. Wondering how it upset the Pond God? After explaining that it was just trying out things it got even more scared.

Making such a wind was trying out stuff?

After Air Control reached C, it was contend again. The next two it wanted to try was Healing and Poison Water. It didn't need to be said that no one of the participants did it out of free will.

Luckily for them did the pond mix both properties together. It made one skill go up which it didn't know what it was though, Sanctuary Field. Several weeks later did the 3 skills reach B,C and C respectively.

During all these days the pond didn't forget to use PWoS as many times as possible.

As for the Absorb and Telepathy skill? It wasn't necessary to say that he did the best he could. It wasnt until a skill hit level A that the circle of upgrading skills finally come to a short end.

"This is slowly getting out of hand. Anyway, Life Origin Water? What will that do? Probably got it after PWoS got to level A. I just don't know if there are other factors. Let's try it first anyway. I think Wolf got the worst of ut all during my experiments. Hope this is good."

The big wolf really had it hard. At first it was more than happy to help out because the bear almost took his place as messengar. If it only knew what painful experience it was! The feeling of bordering life and death isn't fun!

The pond communicated with the wolf while it was sunbathing at a hill nearby. It wanted to feel the aura which was around the pond but didn't dare to. That was until the voice of the Pond God was ringing in its head.

"Yo Big Fellow, come here i've got something good for you!" Frankly spoken, it didn't want to! After knowing that if you drink long from the pond that you will be somewhat a part of it, it was happy. Now it could only laugh.

With a slow movement it made its way to the pond and lowered its head as a greeting. It didn't have to drink from the pond anymore. The upgrade to its sentience stoped after it finally had a mind of its own.

Pond made a tentacle out of its body and used Life Origin Water at the end of it. The wolf couls only flinch. Wasn't that how he lived through that hellish moments?!

Pond saw the miniscule flinch and sighed. Sure enough, being poisoned and healed hundreds if not thousands of times was not fun.

"No worries, this one is a new skill I got and it has a very nice name! Nothing with poison..." The wolf looked at the drop which was formed at the end and prepared itself. 

If it was a painful memorie again, he would go down the mountain and die against humans! It was better than to be killed by the one he woreshiped.

Opening its jaw it finally swalloed the liquid. Nothing happend, no pain or a feeling of joy. Was it normal water?

Not only the wolf, even the pond did question itself. With a name like that, shouldn't there be a change or something?

The wolf shock its head to say that nothing happend. Suddenly its eyes shot wide open and couldn't believe what it saw.

There was something floating in its mind. What are skills? Didn't the Pond God say something about them?

Pond saw the eyes which almost bulged out from the wolfs sockets and was contend. Now was the question, what did it do?

Several back and forth back did Pond finally understand what was going on. It made it somewhat relucant to use it on the others. It knew that in this world, it was probably the only existence to have something like a skillmenu.

It tried several times to confirm it with the old monsters. Even the big bird, was fetched by the Bear and Wolf to confirm things.

None the less to say. The bird jumped at the thought of gaining better sentience. Some humans were just to wicked!

Pond understood after the long talk with the bird that there was nothing like something called skill. Or at least it didn't know. Even humans which were many in existence didn't have more than a hundred with abilities. The numbers were just those send to kill the bird though, it wasn't sure about that either.

After some thoughts did the pond finally decide to share the skill menu with the others. It wasn't because it was a good "god". It wanted to know if there was a skill which allowed it to finally move!

It wasn't a bad life here, if it can be called that. Just to see through the linked animals and monsters what the world looked like did pain it.

Especially the bird! A month or so ago, did the bird finally become a part of it. Who knew that this place was just a lone mountain in a forest!

Even the bird needed to fly for a day to reach the shore which it hunted for fish. When the pond saw the human cities and all, it longed for it. Move body! Move!

Nothing happend sadly.

Before it could say to the wolf to gather the others, it saw through one of the beetles a welcome surprise.

Humans!!!

"Big Fellow, go fetch me some humans! Maybe I can use them!" Surprised and perplexed the wolf noded. Humans? Here? Why does Pond God need them though?
