Tania was the one who trembled the most. The others may not know it but she was a rare mage. Telepathy wasn't something a human or animal was capable of! As someone who studied history and myths, she knew that it wasn't possible..

"Come nearer! No worry, I can't bite. As for those you call Monarchs out there. I told them to let you pass freely if I get to know the things I want!. So, you are humans eh? That female isn't though?"

The voice in their heads began to talk again. Before Sammy could even ooen his mouth he got elbowed into his stomach by Tania which oerplexed the other two.

"If  you dare open your mouth, I will make it so you will never again!" John was sure that Tania knew something they didn't and they soon knew what she thought.

After elbowing Sammy, Tania scannend her surroundings and finally halted her gaze at the pond. An almost creepy weird smile on her face.

"I greet thee, God. If i could be shamlesss and ask if you are the manifestation of the God of Water?"

The trio beside her went pale. God? They were before one of the gods?!

The pond was surprised of her conclusion. Was it a god? What was a god exactly though?

"You are called Tania, right? Why would you believe I was a god? What exactly is a god in your humans view?"

The conter question made Tania also pale, was she to presperous? How should she answer that? Before she could say something did the pond before them make a sillhoute of a human appear on itself.

It was just an outline but it looked human.

"Maybe this makes you more at ease? It's the first time I see your race. I'm not to experienced with making me look like this." The ponds Body Control was high enough to make himself shape as all animals and monsters in the mountain.

The quartet instantly kneeled before him. Water talking, water moving on its free will? If it wasn't a god it would at least be a higher spirit! The latter was known to the all of them. They were guardians of life.

"So? What is a god?" The pond questioned again. Tania was silent and the others too. They had the intent to let Tania answer that.

"A god is...a god is a being which isn't bound by mortal rules? A being which can take and give life on a whim? I don't know, I only read texts about beings which were described as such."

The four of them could only wait for the one before them to speak. Was it contend? Did Tania seal their fate?

Luckily enough for them did the voice not sound angry or mad. It was more of a judging.

"Hmm, I see. Not bound by mortal rules. Well, you could say that I am a god than. At least for the most part."

They all sighed in relief after hearing that. It seemed that their end didn't come yet.

"Here is the deal. You will answer my questions until I'm satisfied. If not, you will be nutrition for me?"

Pond didn't really care about their life. He knew from his folk that humans were cunning and evil. He would decide their fate after he was finished. He thirsted for knowledge. He couldn't leave yet, so why not get to know the world?

Tania was the silently agreed spokesperson of them, she knew it after feeling their gaze on her. She also knew that she couldn't deny that entitiy's wish.

"We would be honored to do so! But may I ask how long it would take? Not only do we need food as we have only a little left, we were also here to fetch a flower and save lifes."

The trio gave her a mental thump up! Now they just hoped that whatever she said and will in the future. Won't piss this being of.

"Hmm, I see.. the nutrition isn't a problem. I would even say you can't die if I don't want you to. What is that about saving life? Humans would enter this place to save lifes?"

The pond was questioning itself if the humans before him were those which the monsters talked about. Friendly humans. They had weapons on them so it was hard to believe.

Tania didn't know how to answer. Those sentence sounded, like it couldn't believe that humans would save lifes? As she rememberd where they were she finally understood.

They were on a mountain full of animals and monsters. As if those living here had one good word of their race!

"I don't know what you heard about our race but..but... I can't say most of us aren't greedy or evil.. there are humans who just want to live and be happy with their loved ones though. I can't talk for Sammy or Miss Wer here but John is one of them!"

Tania began to talk from her heart. She didn't know why but since being here she had a feeling of warmth. If the others who lived on the mountain knew what she thought about they would all agree. Since their god awakend there were no more killings, all lived in harmony.

"Is that so? That can be easily proven. The human called John. Who of the three should die so I will let the rest go?"

They were shocked when they heard the question. Before Sammy could even stand up he was bound by water tentacles.

"Don't try it. If you are even scared of the big ones out there you don't want to trouble me." Pond was trying somwthing. Humans are cunning, can't trust the wrong ones!

As John saw the "bound" Sammy he got pale. He was surrounded by water and couldn't even breath! For a moment did his life flash before him before tears came down his face.

He looked at Tania and smiled. "Please look after Anastasia and Eli..." He stood up and walked towards the water before saying. "Kill me but let them go! I beg you oh mighty spirit!"

Johns words came from his heart. They all were here to help him save his daughter and wife. Except Wer but even she was dragged into this because of him.

Sammy was released and he slumped to the ground with heavy breathing. Tania had tears swell up in her eyes. She knew very well that John wasn't one to talk empty.

They were stunned for the next words which came in their minds.

"Yo Old Bear, what do you think?" As those words rang in their heads did the bear walk towards the pond and bowed. He made some gestures with his paws and grunted several times.

"Hmm, I see. I trust your judgment. I still have some experiments to do else..." It was the bears turn to became pale. Why?! His god was even more cunning than those humans here!

"So little humans, we can make an agreement. Those three stay, you can go and bring those you want to save here." The pond pointed at everyone except John and waited for his answer.
