Chapter 10: Rules of the first test!

As soon as the Robot mentioned that he was going to explain the rules of the first test, everyone stopped what they were doing, and paid attention to him, the Robot smiled at this, then said, "As I said, your first test will be called, "The Delivery", you only have one chance to win, multiple people can win!".

"If you happen to fail, then you will need to register again before trying, remember, you mention anything from what's happening inside here to anyone, and your head will explode!".

"So, you all see the numerous shacks beside you, right? inside every shack, there is a small puppet, I will be waiting there!", the Robot pointed at the horizon, about 900 meters in front of where everyone was, existed a throne, a giant silver throne, and the Robot was pointing at it.

"Your only task is to deliver the puppet to me! that's it, that's the first test you will be taking!". Everyone looked at each other, not sure if the Robot was joking or not, they couldn't believe that the test would be this simple, but that really was the main point of this test.

"You have one hour to do so! even the slowest out of you, should be able to make it, right?", Emily raised her hand, as if she was a student in class, though this time, she didn't wait for the Robot to give her permission, as she asked him, "Could you please explain all the rules?".

The Robot looked at her for a second, and a sound that shouldn't have been possible for him, was made, he clicked his tongue, even though he didn't have a tongue, "Hmm! okay, well, you need to form a group, there have to be at least two members, one chosen as the captain, and the others as subordinates!".

"The captain will earn more points upon the delivery of a puppet! they will earn 400 points, and then the rest of the group will get 200 points! ahh! and you can also steal other teams' puppets, to gain double the amount of points, killing is allowed, you don't have to bring me the puppet you start with, any puppet will do, and the test will start in 3 minutes, is that good?", asked the Robot looking at Emily.

It seemed like she had ruined the fun for him, still, she noded, the Robot then immediately left inside a small blue portal that had just opened beside him, if you looked closely, you could see him appear sitting on the giant silver throne.

The people who had some questions were angered by this. Crow didn't pay it any attention, as he remembered that they will be given all the rules when the test starts, and so, he just waited patiently.

'Hmm! I will be needing a team, just as I had predicted, who should I get through? well, I guess it doesn't really matter, with my strength, I just need someone, doesn't matter if they are strong or not!'.

He looked around until his gaze fell on the orange-haired guy, he said loudly, "Hey you, what's your name?". The guy that was still shivering a bit, as he had been thinking about that "killing is allowed" rule, turned around, to find that it was Crow who had just asked him.

"A... it's Martin Vain!...but you can call me just Martin!", he didn't seem to be intimidated by Crow, since he didn't feel any kind of bad intent from him, the same couldn't be said for the prisoner Saul though.

"Okay Martin, let's make a team, me and you! I will be the captain of course!". Not just Martin himself was shocked, but everyone presents here, since whenever Crow had spoken, everyone paid attention to him, scared that he would also go on a rampage.

If that did happen, they wouldn't have a slight chance as they did against the prisoner Saul, they would just die instead, the difference between a D ranker, and a C ranker was vast, just like Crow was considered an ant when facing a B ranker, like the supervisor of this first test.

Many people talked in hushed voices, to not let Crow hear them, "Is he insane? why would he choose someone who couldn't even move when that crazy psycho started killing?", another said, "If it's like that, I will try my chance as well, being on his team is a guaranteed win!".

Martin's body stopped in its place, he couldn't believe the offer he was giving, he started thanking the healing card he had, if it wasn't for it, who knows what would have happened to him by now?

"Ah! I accept, I don't mind you being the captain in the least!!", Martin was smiling, and his body seemed to relax even more, now that he had joined the strongest team here.

Some people said, "Why did the strongest choose the weakest?", others went up to try and ask Crow, but they cowered down before they reached him, his gaze sent shivers down the spine of anyone that looked at him.

They were scared he wouldn't just refuse them, but kill them, after all, they had seen him throw a man to his death because he didn't like what he had said to him. And so, they decided to form their own teams, everyone wanted to form a team before the three minutes were done.

No one wanted to wait until the beginning of the test, they didn't know if there would be a strong team that would accept them by then. It was almost everyone that turned away from Crow, there were still two people left, that had just reached him.

They were both girls, one of them had green hair wrapped in a ponytail, she was quite beautiful, and had a sportive body, Emily. The other one looked stunning, had long blonde hair, and wore a white dress, Zafira.

"Hey! can I join your team as well?", asked Emily, a beautiful smile had appeared on her face, "Don't listen to her, let me join, and I promise you that I will pay you 1000 points in the future, we can even make a contract if you don't trust me!", said Zafira.

Emily looked at her, her smile seemed to disappear for a second, but then quickly returned as she said, "I can pay even more if you accept me, 2000, no, how about three thousand?".

As the both of them started fighting over who should join Crow's group, another person arrived on the scene, this guy was covered in blood, and his aura was terrifying, it was the blonde-haired prisoner, Saul.

He had an as crazy smile on his face, as he looked at the two there, he didn't pay them any attention, as he looked at Crow, who had a cold expression on his face all this time, and said, "I would also like to join your group!".

Crow looked at him for a second, then simply said, "No!".

Saul didn't know how to react, as he looked at him and said, his smile fading away, "Han? you're joking right? I am the second strongest person here, you will need me to win this test! how about I throw in 2000 points as well?".

"Are you deaf? I said no, and that simply means no, also, did you say that I need you? why is that? I can win by myself! you know what, I will take these two in my team as well, but not you!", answered Crow.

His C ranker aura started rising up as well, Saul felt his entire body shiver, he knew that he wasn't welcome here, and so, he made one last effort, as he said, "Okay, then can we make a contract, that says, "I will pay you 2000 points so that you don't steal my puppet?".

Crow looked at him for a second, then he said, "Okay, I like this offer more!", with that, the both of them established the contract, and 2000 points were transferred to Crow. He smiled deep down, as he thought, 'Hah! with just my strength, I already gained so much!'.

'Ah! maybe I shouldn't have accepted those two, in the end, still, they will be paying me points, and this test just needs me to be strong, so it isn't like I am losing here! in fact, I am winning!'.

"You two said that you would pay me for this, right? 1500 points, by the end of this week! I don't know what's outside this establishment, and I don't care how you manage to acquire that sum of points, that is my condition if you want to join my team!", said Crow, as he looked at Emily and Zafira.

They looked at themselves for a moment, before they both nodded their heads, in the next second they made a contract with him, the punishment would be cutting off a hand for each one of them.

As for the punishment for the contract he made with Saul, it was paying him 10 thousand points, for the first puppet he stole and for resigning from the test for the second.

When only 10 seconds were left, the Robot appeared high up in the air again, he looked at everyone, and said, "Are you all ready? I am just joking, I don't care in the least! and now, your first test inside the Reader's Challenges! the Delivery, STARTS NOW!".
