Chapter 9: Chapter 8

 Ilos: Guan-Tuan Plateau: Fort Able

December 17 145AA

Sisilica and Mathilda were at the mess hall happily eating, the food made by the chefs, with Delia and Cecil. They were newly discharged from the hospital because of the inflicted wounds from the bandits. Just like Sisilica and Mathilda who first encountered the whole fort they were also astonished by it.  They were dressed in a military winter uniform of the soldiers in the fort which was given by the staff. They noted that the clothes were soft and of far better quality than what the nobles back home could afford.  

"After eating go to Runway 5. The operation is about to start and we'll be waiting for you there" Lanrey inserted.

Sisilica nodded while shamefully slurping a forkful of spaghetti. After getting his answer he soon departed to finish the final preparations. 2 days ago after Maxwell explains their side of the story Sisilica felt pity for them despite being total strangers. In return, Sisilica explains the general basic knowledge of her world, Ilos. She explains the races, creatures, kingdoms, and notable events such as the La Latoma, or this world's version of the  United Nations Conference, which will be taking place nearby the kingdom, Los Magian. 

After learning this Maxwell asked for a favor. He wished to go to La Latoma in order to explain their situation and to make their presence known. At first, Sisilica was hesitant and many things could go wrong and all blame could fall on her. But she realized that sooner or later this fort will be discovered by somebody else and things would go south very fast so she understand the general's sentiments.

"So was he the one?" Delia asked Sisilica

"What do you mean?" Sisilica returned the question

"Don't act dumb now. Isn't he the one that carried you in the forest? Mathilda told us about it." Cecil continued

"You know what let's just go we have a long day ahead of us" Sisilica annoyingly said while her cheeks turned bright red.

After eating they proceed to the designated meeting place. As soon as they arrived they saw 31 people. They were armed with guns and the girls had a first-hand experience and wore exoskeletons which Peterson explains its uses which then again astonished the girls. Behind them were 3 Blackhawk Helicopters and ground crews are preparing it.  

"So are we riding that Helicopter," Mathilda asked Maxwell as she struggled to pronounce the word

"Yes, anyways let me introduce you to joining us. That's Major Anderson with his Delta Unit" Maxwell said while pointing at them.

He then introduced the Phillippines' Scout Rangers, Australian Airborne, Japanese alth Forces, and The Unified Korean Black Berets. After the introduction and the preparations, they entered the Blackhawks. Each Helicopter contains 12 men with the third containing the four knights, Maxwell and Lanrey. The three Helicopters soon took off with 2 Apache Attack Helicopters to act as escorts for them.

 

Ilos: Los Magian Teritorry : 7 Miles Away From Los Magian Capital

Emilia and her party along with a platoon of soldiers are marching towards the Capital of Los Magian, The Ennervae. Their original plan was was to go home to their respective kingdoms with Ronnie following Macador. It changes after a Los Magian messenger, fortunately, found them and informed them that a La Latoma will be held at the Los Magian and their fathers who are kings of their respective kingdoms are already there. As proof, the messenger gave them a scroll with the seals of their respective families. 

"What do you think happened for someone to call a La Latoma" Annie asked

"Don't know, but all I  want to do now is rest in a comfy bed," Macador asked

 "To be honest, I'm excited I can't wait to get to Los Magian. Especially their foods" Emilia said

A knight riding a horse walk up to Macador and spoke "My lord we are almost near Los--" 

He stopped his sentence as an arrow make its way to the unfortunate knight's neck. He drop from his horse and started gurgling with blood coming out from its neck and mouth.  

"AMBUSH" one of the knights yelled.

In an instant knights made a protective circle around the royals meanwhile grunts engage the attackers in battle. Swords clashing against each other and arrows whizzing around can be heard. But the hooded attackers have the element of surprise and easily cut down the weak grunts. Luckily the knights can hold on to their own and kill any attackers that come near them. Archers pick any distant targets they can see and mages supported the knights.

The battle slowly died down as the last of the remaining attackers was slain. The shield wall of the knight then slowly dispersed once there were no attackers sighted. Emilia was saddened after the deaths of their comrades. Curious about the identity of the attackers Laluna unrobed one of them. They were ghouls and Laluna realized the implications of this. 

"They are ghouls, prepare for battle. The Undead are nearby" Laluna shouted to the knights

Undead Knights then appeared from the forestry beside them. Necromancers and Dark Magic User was among the ranks. Surprised the knights prepared for battle yet again. Volleys of arrows then rained at the Undead knights. During the ruckus, Eliza noticed mana was draining from the necromancer and realized they were casting a spell. The previously dead ghouls then started reanimating. 

Now the enemy was both outside and inside the knights' formation. It wasn't looking good for them.

"They may be the Undead but they are still clever," Marie commented

"Now is not the time to compliment them," Emilia said

Macador, Ronnie, and Marie joined the knights in the melee battle while Emilia, Annie, and Eliza provided support. The sounds of battle rage on but the Undead were winning. Although many of the Undead are outclassed by the heavy professional knights they made it up in numbers. Slowly they whittle down the knights' numbers.

"The necromancers are casting another spell" Eliza shouted

"Archers, Mages focus on the enemy spell casters" Emilia shouted

They manage to kill many of the enemy necromancers but then again the Undead has the number advantage. Emilia expected the slain undead would rise again but it didn't. Suddenly the ground shook as chasms opened in the soil. From there large 2 abomonations showed up. They were large and bloated on their hands was large bladed weapons like axes and butchers knife.

With the arrival of the Undead giants the enemy now easily slaughtered the valiant knights. Eliza and other mages cast a destructive spell to the abomonations. Numerous large fire balls appeared and was launched to the giants. To their suprise it shrugged it off and continued its path of destruction.

"How can we kill that thing?" Annie yelled

"I lost massive amounts of mana casting that spell" Eliza said tiredly.

The abomonations and undead knights massacered the knights and forced them back in a corner. Meanwhile the Undead Magic Casters and range units easily dealt with their exhausted counterparts. All seemed hopeless for Emilia and even if they run now they will be easily caught due to fatigue from marching.

 Unbeknownst to them, 2 Apache Helicopters were waiting conformation to engage the Undead Giants.  

 This is Viper 1-1 to Big Daddy. Are we clear to engage" the Apache Helicopter pilot asked

"Okay who decided the Callsign for Maxwell is Big Daddy?" the Viper 1-2 pilot said laughing

"This is Big Daddy to Viper 1-1 you are clear to engage" Maxwell said

"Copy that, Launching 2 Air to Surface Missile. Bombs Away" the Viper 1-1 pilot said

The 2 Abomonatins then suddenly explode to tiny bits and it rained blood everywhere. The resulting explosions knock both the Undead and Emilia's group down to the ground. Both sides were in total shock then sudenly a strong gust of wind hit them and out of nowhere they can hear what seem to choppig sound coming high up in the air. Everybody on the ground looked up and saw a metallic beast.
