A loud sound appeared inside her mind and the transparent crystal inside her brain became bigger. Her body felt lighter and refreshed.

 

After absorbing the last zombie nucleus, she finally managed to advance to the next level and her space has undergone subtle changes. The fog covering the sky became thinner and the area surrounded by the fog became lesser. It could be said, the space became bigger, but without measurement, no one noticed this slight chance. 

 

Her space advances to level two and her healing power has become stronger. Now, she can heal others without using her blood anymore. However, she didn't know about it yet.

 

Opening her eyes, a smile finally appeared on Liu Qinghe's beautiful face. She got up from the bed and found an unpleasant smell coming from her body. She wrinkled her nose and went to her space to take a shower.

When she walked out from her room, she saw that the Chen family and Baozi were sitting on the sofa waiting for her. Taking a seat beside Baozi, she said with a smile, “Good morning. It’s good that all of you are here. There's something I want to talk to you about."

 

“Miss Liu, we also have something to tell you.” Mr. Chen said.

 

She raised her eyebrows and said, "Uncle Chen, please speak."

 

“It’s like this. We noticed that Miss Liu has arrived at the Eagle base, so it would be impolite for us to continue to stay here and use your supplies. We discussed it and decided to go out. We can't keep bothering you.” He said.

 

Liu Qinghe nodded, it's in line with her ideas. Now that they had decided, she had no other opinion. "I don't have any problem with that. However, the fee for registering as a permanent resident is five pieces of level one zombie nucleus or five kilograms of rice for each person.”

 

Hearing the sky-high price, the Chen family was stunned. Not to mention five kilograms of rice, they don't even have a gram of rice now. Seeing their distressed expressions, she said, "I can lend it to you first."

After thinking for a while, Chen Jiyu nodded and said, “Alright, I’ll join your team. Please lend us twenty five kilograms of rice. When I have enough points, I will pay you back. Regarding the help you gave to my family before, I will definitely repay you for your help. If you need anything, please let me know. I will do my best to help you."

 

“Me too. I’m a wind ability-user.  I also want to join your team." Chen Jizheng said.

 

“Then, I will bring all of you out first. We could talk about the rest later.” Liu Qinghe said while standing up.

 

They came out of her space and appeared in her bedroom. Holding Baozi's hand, she said, "Let's go out for breakfast first."

 

In the living room, Huo Yanxiao was sitting on the sofa waiting for her. As soon as he looked up, he saw the Chen family walking out of her bedroom. He stood up and went to the kitchen to help prepare breakfast, while the others waited in the living room. Not long after, Yang Liqiang and Yang Lixue came.

 

"They have already decided?" Huo Yanxiao asked while chopping vegetables.

 

"En, they want to register as permanent residents. Yanxiao, I want to form a team and do missions. We need to earn points and exchange them for supplies or zombie nucleus. Do you want to join me?"  She asked while kneading the dough.

 

"Okay. My shape-shifting ability has advanced to the third level and I obtained the metal ability, it’s currently at second level.” He said with a low voice.

 

“What?!” Liu Qinghe exclaimed in shock. He just glanced at her and smiled but said nothing.

After finishing their simple breakfast, they sat in the living room after Liu Qinghe sent Baozi to her space.

 

“Qinghe, My sister and I decided to find information about my parents and Lihua. We also will do missions to earn points. We won’t bother you any longer. For what you gave us before, I will pay you back when I earn enough. Thank you for helping us. I will repay this favor in the future.” Yang Liqiang said, while Yang Lixue looked at him with resentment clear in her eyes.

 

“Alright. If you need any help, just come find me. I want to form a team to do missions, if you are interested, you can join me instead of doing it alone.” Liu Qinghe said.

 

“I will think about it. You know I have no ability, so I won’t be able to help even if I join your team.” He said with a low voice.

 

Listening to his words, she doesn’t persuade him anymore. Since what he said is true. Without ability, doing missions outside the base is dangerous. On-base missions are still a better option.  After saying those words, they left her room. Before they left, Liu Qinghe saw Yang Lixue’s cold eyes looking at her brother with hatred. 

 

Turning towards the Chen family, She said, "Then I will take you to get your permanent residents."

 

“Alright. Sorry for troubling you.” Mr. Chen said.

 

“It’s no trouble, uncle Chen.”

 

"I will go with you. We can register our team at the same time." Huo Yanxiao said.

 

Leaving her room, they walk to the Public Hall to get the permanent residents for the Chen family and register their team. They reached the public hall in half an hour. There is a long line of people registering in front of the counter, so it will take awhile before it’s their turn. 

 

Looking around, Liu Qinghe saw a huge mission board in the center of the hall. Walking towards the mission board, she saw that there were many task sheets densely pasted on the board. Since the only source of electricity comes from the solar power system, it has become scarce. So the base uses a manual method to issue missions and only important buildings get electricity.

 

Rubbing her chin, she was deep in thoughts. Maybe if they could get the solar power system, they could build their own bases. It doesn't need to be a big base like the Eagle base. As long as their base is strong enough, it's enough for them. After all, even in the apocalypse, she just wants to live a peaceful life. She has no grand ambitions like world domination.

 

She checked the mission forms one by one and found that most of the missions assigned by the base were looking for supplies, weapons or medicines. While other missions are random missions such as finding people or doing chores. What's more, the rewards of those random missions are just some food.

 

It’s still better to get missions issued by the base. At least they can earn points on top of some supplies. “It’s our turn. Let’s register our team first before checking the missions list.” Huo Yanxiao said.

 

She was startled when she heard his voice. Liu Qinghe always feels that he is like a ghost. He always appeared suddenly behind her without making any sounds. After calming her heart, they walked towards the residence counter. The fee was the same as before, so she paid twenty five kilograms of rice.

 

After getting the permanent residence, the Chen family can finally breathe a sigh of relief. At least they have a place to live now. Two of them are ability users so they get a unit. Although small, it is also much better than living in a slum.

 

They walked towards the Mission counter after getting their ID card. This time, they could go without waiting for their turns. There are not many people taking or completing missions, much less registering new teams. 

 

Behind the counter, an officer is writing a report. Seeing them, she raised her head and asked, "Is there anything I can do for you?"

 

"Hello, officer. We want to register a team." Liu Qinghe said.

 

"What's your team name? Who is the leader and the deputy leader? Also, I need the IDs of your team members." She said in a flat tone.
