Chapter 6: Rescue 2

Ryu's hands blurred as he performed the required hand seals, kneaded the right amount of chakra, and globs of sticky gold poured from his skin before transforming into four Sticky-Gold Clones; each held a Golden War Bow; unlike his, these weren't treasures, but near its potential, these were pseudo-treasured weapons.  

The hooting and howls of man-apes grew closer. His clones darted away, using the trees to spread out, forming a triangular position. War Bows pulled back, golden arrows pushed from their sharp-fanged mouths.

Ryu stood in anticipation. Beasts were about to explode from the darkened wood. His thumb tingled, and a glistening web vibrated, alerting him to the oncoming wave. He drew his hands into a prayer motion, and his cheeks ballooned; he reared back and spat. 

Hiden-Spider Web Unravelling.

An expanding web unraveled as the man-apes leaped from the woods, unsuspecting of an ambush. Ryu sliced downward, signaling the clones to attack. Never chase a spider, even if it's in your natural habitat,' he thought as he flashed a devilish small, showing off his prominent fangs.

The more the beast struggled, the tighter the spiderwebbing became. The beady black eyes of the man-apes held traces of horror and resentment as in horror as the meter-long golden arrows zoomed across the distance, peppering and penetrating the small tide of man-apes. 

He looked on as the beast became golden pin cushions. He sent a clone to collect the loot. He wouldn't miss out on the cores, especially since the system could extract them for him.

His chakra was getting low; even at Jounin level, he didn't have unlimited reserves. He would have to be careful and refrain from using big chakra-intensive techniques. He couldn't keep up with seemingly limitless apes that seemed to spawn from the forest's darkness. 

He withdrew the pilfered Bō from his back, where it sequestered neatly behind his gourd. 'This Bō is pretty decent,' he said as he deflected a similar one before sweeping the apes' legs from under it and slamming the studded end downward, cracking its head like a nut. 

'It's a pseudo-treasure, unlike your bow and gourd.' Akatsuki said.

Ryu had pulled what he knew of treasured weapons from Aido's mind; even though he didn't know much, he knew treasured weapons, artifacts, and equipment were found in archaic places or dungeons, but he didn't know much about the latter. Still, Ryu being from Earth had read and learned a lot about fantasy worlds and unique areas where beasts and monsters congregated. 

Body Flicker Technique

Using the Body Flicker Technique, a ninja can move short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed. It is accomplished using chakra to vitalize the body and temporarily move at extreme speeds. The amount of chakra required depends on the distance and elevation between the user and the intended destination. To the Man-apes, it appeared as if the human had teleported. He had learned that his Jutsu responded differently than they did in the manga and anime. With Akatsuki always reading his mind, she immediately explained the theory behind it. He didn't quite understand the math behind it, but he understood enough to say it was Dimensional rules being applied.

Minor clashes continued as Ryu raced through the forest. He refrained from Justus and used his clones. He sent the remaining shadow clone ahead, and as he stayed behind, he originally wanted to swap with his clone. Yet, Akatsuki mentioned he needed to practice appropriately and not depend on a much weaker clone to do the work. 

Two man-apes hooted in hot pursuit. Ryu darted ahead. He performed hand seals before leaping from the high branch, his cheeks expanding before an explosive gout of superheated flame emanated from him in a scorching fire.

Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique

The trees splintered into kindling, and the beasts roared as the fire impacted the two pursuers, instantly immolating them and scorching the unlucky stragglers behind them, and causing the other apes to scatter. 

'Wow! That's worthy of any Uchiha,' he said inwardly as he watched the superheated inferno.

'Indeed. Your Sharingan naturally affords you a fraction of your innate ability. Looking at your attainments in Fire Release, you'll understand why you're capable.' Lectured Akatuski as the transparent scroll unraveled before his eyes.

Ryu didn't daddle; he performed another set of hand signs before slamming his hands into the Earth; right before the top of his head submerged underground, a two-meter-tall white ape exploded from the blaze, wind rippling around its body as its beady black eyes landed on him. He felt the beast was a peak rank, one magical beast and one with control of an element. 

Earth Release: Earth Military Movement Technique.

Some miles away, He put the powerful beast out of his head; he figured he had made a clean escape. Ryu was hurriedly traversing through the treetops. He wished he could continually cross through the Earth, but the distance and the cost of the technique used for traveling were unideal. 

'Akatsuki, what about my other sub-stats?' He asked the system as he knew shinobi had more than just Taijutsu, NinJutsu, and Genjutsu.

'Hmm. I can put them up if that's what you require; since you haven't trained much in the others, I decided not to show them.' She replied before another screen unraveled before him.

MedicalNinjutsu: 0.3  Deals with healing and the manipulation of their own or another person's body with extensive knowledge of herbs, medicine, the human body, and poisons.

Shurikenjutsu: 0.8 Deals with shuriken, kunai, senbon, and other bladed hand-held throwable weapons.

He scanned over the updated info and nodded his head. He liked what he saw but understood he had a long way to go and needed to further his training. 

He paused, tilted his head, his eyes activated, and he looked behind him, his two tomoe Sharingan spinning, his fingers began to twitch rapidly, and the ground started to rumble. 

'Your shadow clone has discovered the village. But, it seems you infuriated the man-apes because many of them are about to fall atop you.' Akatsuki added internally. 

Ryu was squatted on the branch before a rush of wind began to grow near him. He immediately tried to lend back as his eyes began to track the beast speeding forward, its clawed white hand open to grab him. Out of desperation or the subconscious's intent, his Sand emerged from the gourd attached to his back. The white man-ape hand slowed, Sand rushing forward, wrapping around the sizeable deadly paw; unfortunately for Ryu, the beast's elemental ability allowed it to disperse the Sand long enough to punch Ryu from his perch and send him careening into the ground. 

He grunted, tanking the blow as he flung his hand forward, his Sand reacting to his will and impacting the beast sending it backward into a tree, as Ryu hit the ground hard and tumbled a few feet before he leaped upward, blood leaking from the corner of his mouth.

His silky gold clones appeared above him, war bows out and arrows emerging from their mouth. The white man-ape stood up; the Sand dispersed around it. Ryu felt he could manipulate it with a thought, but he shelved it as the two eyed each other. Soon other man-apes began to emerge from the woods and circle around Ryu and the apparent boss magical beast.
