Chapter 3: Chapter2 ~ The New first-year students

The janitor gives Hotaru a long lecture because he was late on the first-year students' celebration, and Hotaru apologizes for it.

The Janitor is a short, bald man with a distended belly, who wears a blue suit and hat of the same colour. After he finished scolding Hotaru, he brought his mouth close to his ear and then whispered;

"So, what is your special power?"

A serious look appeared on Hotaru's face, thinking;

'No matter where I go, in this world, strength is everything. This high school is supposed to be a regular high school, and I thought it wouldn't be necessary to talk about the super powers. Why is it so difficult to find normal people in this life?'

Hotaru removed his sight from that man's face and started walking towards the school building, saying;

"It's the power of friendship."

The Janitor smiled and said;

"Well, it doesn't matter how much you try to hide it, because I'll see you using it someday. This isn't just an ordinary school as the rumors say, I'm sure you know that."

What happened now was that the Janitor wanted to know what kind of power Hotaru had, but for some reason, he refused to tell the Janitor what kind of power he had.

Hotaru walked toward the school building but felt a little curious, so he stopped and asked the Janitor;

"Why are you interested in what kind of strength I have?"

The doorman answered him smiling;

"I get excited when I see a new kind of power that I've never seen before."

Hotaru was silent for a while, then said;

"I see, good luck with your work."

He continued walking toward the school building, but he was somewhat unconvinced by the doorman's answer to his question. Then, after a few steps, he started to hear the sound of applause coming from the large hall on the school campus.

Hotaru quickly went to the hall and when he opened the door, he found all the students sitting in their seats, more than the two hundred students who were present in that hall. In the front part of the hall there is a large wooden platform, in which there is a pulpit with a loudspeaker. The person standing in that pulpit was a girl.

It's the same girl that Hotaru saw before few minutes, Hotaru could know that she was giving the speech of the new first-year students.

Unfortunately for him, the door he entered was in the same part as the wooden platform, meaning that everyone would see the door of the hall when he opens it.

Hotaru was ten minutes late for the opening ceremony. Everyone looked at him with contempt. It's impolite behavior for a student in an elite high school like this.

While everyone was looking at Hotaru, that girl in the podium continued her speech trying to get people's attention to her. Something that gave Hotaru a chance to blend in with the background and escape the gazes directed at him.

Hotaru walked to the last part of the hall and found some empty seats, but the stage seemed too far away.

And this wasn't the thing that made him upset, it was the person in front of him.

Empty seats are in the last row only. There are exactly four seats, but someone is sleeping on those four seats.

Hotaru had no other way but to wake that person up, so he touched his cheek twice as if he was slapping him with a very weak force and said;

"Excuse me, I want to set"

That young man opened his eyes and looked at Hotaru for more than ten seconds, then went back to sleep, saying;

"I'll think about doing it if a prettt and cute girl said that."

He was a young man with white skin and brown hair, who had a bruise on his cheek and had a slightly muscular body.

Hotaru walked over to the last seat in the row with the young man's feet on it, picked it up, and sat down without saying a word.

He had been waiting for a heated reaction from that young man, but he suddenly started to hear him snoring.

'Did he really fall asleep that fast?'

That girl continued her speech for a few minutes, and Hotaru couldn't hear her because she was so far away, even the speakers weren't in the back part of the room.

'Seriously, how can I hear her from this distance? And they say it's an elite school...

Hmm, But I guess I'm lucky because her pretty features are out of my sight. And why are the students sitting near me pretending to be able to hear her voice? 

Well, I think I'll act like them and blend in with the background'

The situation continued like this until the celebration ended, after this the students started to leave the hall, but the person next to Hotaru was still asleep.

'Should I wake him up? Hmm, no. I'm going to act like the rest and get out of here.'

Hotaru walked towards the door but suddenly on his way, he felt as if he had bumped into something. But nothing was present around it. The benches, the walls, the students... they were all a few meters away from him. But he was sure he had bumped into something.

while Hotaru looked puzzled, as if he was searching for something that didn't exist, a young man came from behind.

His hair was dark blue with eyes in the same color, and he had white skin. His physique was normal, just like Hotaru's.

His glasses slid a little forward, that's why he put his finger and pushed it back and then said;

"What are you looking for? first-year student!"
