Chapter 51: Summer Camp

"Don't be naughty and get lost from Jack's sight!!" Alexander said his advice to Eden.

"You already repeated it a hundred times, Alpha." Eden snorted. She was boring listening to Alexander's nagging.

"Okay. I'm leaving." Alex kissed Eden's forehead. All the maids refrained from being surprised by Alex's gentle attitude towards Eden. The alpha, who was usually so harsh and very cold, could show a sweet and loving expression to this girl.

"Take care of Luna for me, Jack. Take Maxi with you. He can help you track Eden's scent if something bad happens." Alex gave Jackson orders.

"Okay, Alpha. I will take good care of Luna. Save trip, my lord." Jackson put his hands in front of his chest. Then turned to Kai, "Don't let alpha get hurt, Kai."

"Opposite, Jack. They should be the ones who get that words if dare to challenge the King." Kai smiled before getting into the car.

Eden sighed inwardly. Jackson was so different when he was in front of Alex. He was very obedient and didn't dare to show his hate towards Eden even though Eden could already guess that Jackson would nag at her as soon as Alex's car door closed.

And… sure enough. When the luxury car left the front of the Ethereal mansion, Jackson immediately turned to Eden.

"No, you have a much more important position in the alpha's eyes, Miss. That's enough to make me respect you."

"You guys have so much respect for Alex. What's so good about that pervert?" Eden giggled.

Maxi giggled. "I am a half-wolf, born from a human womb. I'm not a great fighter like Mr. Kai or Jack. I'm just a weak wolf who my father often belittles. I can't even turn into a wolf form. But, Alpha didn't give up on me. He trained me to be a great tracker. After I grew up, he bit me. Alpha continued to accompany me in every second of my first transformation. When the alpha poison turned me into a true wolf, he was always by my side." Maxi told Eden about his past.

The lush forest along the way. Spruce trees were towering—a vast lake on the edge of the woods. Mountains siluet looked wonder in the distance. Eden didn't blink when she saw all those beautiful sights. It had been a long time since she had gone out to enjoy the natural beauty of the mountain area.

A yellow school bus stopped at a campsite. The expanse of green meadows was so vast. Eden rushed off the school bus. The girl stretched her arms as she breathed in the fresh air.

"She enjoys her freedom." Jackson and Maxi watched Eden from a distance with binoculars. Maxi was silent, still unable to guess who Eden was? Human or werewolf? Or even neither?

"Ah, I want to sleep! Watch out, Max. I'll take your place at night." Jackson threw the binoculars at Maxi and got into the car.

"Okay."

Maxi looked back at Eden while eating his favorite meat bun. Every fifteen minutes, he would lift the binoculars and make sure Eden was safe.

Eden, along with her classmates, started to build a tent. They worked well together to sleep tonight without seeing the stars or catching a cold from the cold mountain air at night.

"Thanks, E. You brought me here." Bianca looked happy. The two of them were busy holding the tent rope on the wooden mooring.

"I'm glad you came."

"Have you expressed your feelings to Ace like I suggested yesterday?" Bianca asked again.

Eden shook her head, not yet saying anything to Ace. The days she spent with Alex made her forget about Ace, including her love for this man.

Eden was perplexed between choosing to be with Alex as his Luna. Or together with Ace as his girlfriend. Eden was standing on the halfway line. She couldn't decide which side she would go to.

"Hurry up, or Ace was taken by someone else. Look, many girls are approaching him, E." Bianca pointed at Ace. The girls in his class invited Ace to chat. Eden turned around. She smiled faintly.

"Hurry up!" Bianca insisted. Eden got up and headed towards Ace, who was also walking towards her place.

"Hi," said Eden.

"Hi, E. Did you have a good trip?"

"Yup. but I fell asleep on the bus."

"You're right. Luckily I woke up when we got to the mountain's foot. So I still got a chance to see it."

"You're not helping your class?"

"It's done. I've pitched the tent well."

"Hey, E!! Get some firewood with Bianca!!" Eden's friend shouted too.

"Looks like we have to split up, Ace."

"Right, see you tonight at the bonfire." Ace smiled and ran towards his class group.

Bianca approached Eden. Both of them got a share to get firewood. Meanwhile, Nina, from a distance, looked at Eden with a look of hatred. Her hand gripped the bucket to find water. Jimmy saw Nina's code to follow her.

"I'm going to go get some water." She said to all the girls in the class.

"Okay."

Nina had a sneaky idea to avenge Eden. She didn't want to waste the opportunity to repay Eden. With Jimmy's help, Nina would make Eden lost in the woods.

Bianca and Eden collect dry branches on the ground. They explored the edge of the persevered forest. The teachers had warned not to get off the track marked by forest officers.

"Is this enough?" asked Bianca.

"That's enough. Let's go back to the campsite." Eden replied.

"Alright, let's go back to camp." Bianca stepped.

When they were about to step back, Jimmy suddenly grabbed Eden from behind and dragged her into the forest. He silenced Eden's mouth.

"Hmph!" Eden couldn't breathe.

"I will repay you, arrogant girl!" Jimmy snapped. Nina smiled.

"I'm going back to the tent, so everyone doesn't suspect anything." Nina grabbed the firewood in Eden's hands and returned to the tent.

"E??!" Bianca felt something had gone wrong. Eden was missing. Suddenly, Nina came with tree branches and smiled at her.

"What did you do to Eden?"

"I didn't do anything. She just came to me and left these firewoods. She said she wanted to pee." Nina handed the firewood into Bianca's hands.

Bianca stared at Nina in disbelief, but there was nothing she could do. It was getting dark. The sun was starting to set. Bianca sighed and returned to the classroom tent. If Eden hadn't been back in an hour, she would have reported it to Mr. Timothy.

Meanwhile, Eden struggled inside Jimmy's grip. She continued to move to free herself from the man's grip. Jimmy dragged Eden deeper and far into the forest. Jimmy only wanted to scare Eden by leaving her in dark woods.

"Let go of me, you bastard!" Eden cursed.

"Hehe, I will leave you frozen here!!" Jimmy laughed. Eden's eyes widened. She was scared.

"Let go!!!" Eden struggled again.

The sun began to disappear. The cold made Eden's body tremble even more. Jimmy took Eden to the hills. Unbeknownst to Jimmy, Eden's movement made them slip on a wet tree root.

"No!!!" Eden screamed out. They both fell on the hillside and curled up in the dry leaves.
