Chapter 66: Eden’s Question

Alex's sharp nails pierced Eden's right chest…. and …. Ace's sword pierced Eden's stomach.

Alex and Ace's eyes widened like tonight's full moon when they saw Eden in their midst.

"NOOOOO!!!" Alex shouted.

"NOOOOO!!" Ace shouted no less loudly.

Fresh blood dripped from Eden's mouth. Eden's tiny body was pierced by Alex's sharp nails and Ace's light sword from the front and back.

"Cough!" Eden coughed and spurted blood from her mouth.

"EDEN!!!!" The two shouted at the same time.

Eden immediately collapsed as soon as the sword of light disappeared, and Alex pulled out his fingernails. Alex held Eden's body from falling to the ground while Ace immediately jumped to Eden's side and chanted a healing spell. Ace was a white wizard, and he had the best ability in healing magic.

"Eden… open your eyes, Girl. I'm sorry!" Alex's face was tense and sweaty. He had hurt the woman he loved the most in this world with his own hands. Could you imagine how broken Alex's heart is right now?

"Please don't leave me!!" Alex's hands trembled, his black hair messed up, covering his handsome face.

Tears fell when Alex saw his palms covered in fresh blood. Eden's blood. Eden protected Alex when Ace was about to kill him. She was willing to sacrifice her life for Alex's safety.

"Please…please!!" Ace tried to treat Eden… his hands kept on shining, his face was no less tense and chaotic than Alex's. Unknowingly, the image of Edith's face when Alex stabbed her with the sword of light replayed. Ace scared. Afraid that Eden would become like Edith, die by his hands.

"Hold on, girl!" The tough man was crying.

"Stop whimpering!!! I'm treating her!" Ace was annoyed with Alex's sobs. Alex made his concentration disperse.

Red blood gave color to Ace's white robes. The heavy bleeding and her tore body made Eden unconscious. Eden fell lifeless in Alex's arms, her whole body as cold as ice.

"Please, Baby Girl. Open your eyes." Alex kissed Eden's forehead, trying to channel his soul, nothing had change. His soul couldn't be directed because Alex hadn't marked Eden yet.

"Come on, E!! Please!! Please!!" Ace growled. He let out more LUMINOS until a bright white light covered Eden's whole body.

Eden still kept her eyes closed. Nothing happened. Too much blood came out. Eden was dying, stood between life and death.

"Please, E!" shouted Ace. He added his strength, dredging the power until there was nothing left. A moment later. Ace managed to stop Eden's bleeding. Eden's wounds slowly closed. Alex continued to hug Eden and didn't move from her side at all. His heart was anxious, his heart was pounding violently, his whole body was shaking, and his muscles were limp. His mind was chaotic to the point of going mad. Alex had never felt this madness in his life, even when he lost his father and mother.

"Hmmm..." Eden began to respond. She muttered softly when she was starting to feel the excruciating pain. Her whole body was limp, cold sweat dripping down from her forehead. Eden felt her aching stomach and chest flowing with warmth. Gradually the pain disappeared, replaced by a sense of comfort.

Ace was relieved. He managed to treat Eden even though his strength was drained. Eden started to blink her eyes. The eyelids were so heavy. Eden was so tired, sleepy, and weak from losing a lot of blood.

"Get away from her, Wolf!!" Ace pushed away Alex's hand, which was still holding Eden tightly.

"No!!" Alex pushed Ace's hand away.

"How long are you guys going to fight because of me?" asked Eden in a low voice.

"Are you awake, girl?" Alex was immediately happy to hear Eden could speak.

"How are you? Is there anything else that hurts?" Ace grabbed Eden's hand. Eden shook her head. Her body had gotten better, and nothing was sick anymore.

"You're great, Ace! Just like your name. Thank you so much for saving me." Eden glanced to Ace, who had healed her.

"It's all my fault." Ace lowered his face in shame. Eden smiled shortly.

"Alex, can you carry me to my room? I'm so sleepy," asked Eden.

"Of course, Girl."

"I'll be by your side! If anything is still hurt." Ace got up.

Alex saw Eden's pale and weak face. There might not be anything wrong with leaving this wizard beside Eden for a while. His ability to use healing magic could be helpful when Eden needed him.

Alex had to thank him anyway. Thanks to Ace, Eden was able to survive.

"Fine. But leave as soon as Eden gets better." Alex took a deep breath.

Ace followed Alex into his room. Alex asked the other maids to change Eden's bloodstained clothes into clean clothes.

Alex and Ace waited outside. Alex leaned against the entrance while Ace leaned against the room's front wall. Ace folded his arms in front of his chest, his eyes sharp on Alex. Alex was also the same. He put his hands in his pants pockets, while his eyes didn't move from Ace. They looked at each other with a hateful gaze. But held themself not to fight for Eden.

Their minds were full of questions. Curious about each other relationship with Eden.

"How did a wizard-like you know Eden? Since when did you love her?" Alex asked as a fellow man. Ace would not have tried hard to save Eden if he had no feelings for this girl.

"What about you?? How can an alpha like you claim a human as his mate?" Ace asked back. He had never seen a werewolf claiming a human before.

The mate of Werewolves was fated even while they were in the womb. Only werewolves born from bites did not have a mate, but they could acquire a mate by biting humans and marking them. Unfortunately, that never happened anymore because since the wizards won the war, werewolves were not allowed to bite and turn humans into their kind.

"Did you bite her???" asked Ace.

"Did you see Eden heal herself??" Alex was annoyed. If he could change Eden, he would. Too bad, Alex once bit to mark Eden. But instead of a marking sign, it was the blood pouring out of Eden's wrist.

"…."

Both fell silent. So who was Eden? Human? Wolf? Wizard?

As the two were struggling with their thoughts about Eden, the two maids who helped Eden change clothes came out. The two of them nudged each other, discussing who would report it.

"What is it?" Alex saw their behavior and asked.

"So.. sorry, Alpha. Miss Eden wants to see Mr. Wizard. But you are not allowed to enter." They stuttered while conveying Eden's request. It was inevitable that Alex would reject Eden's request, but Eden said that only Ace could enter.

"I can't. I have to go in too!! What if this old man hurts Eden?" Alex pointed at Ace.

"Hey!! What do you think I'm healing her for if I want to hurt her?!" Ace raised his voice.

"What if he takes a chance and kidnaps Eden." Alex also raised his voice. They made the two maids shivered in fear. Well ... who was not afraid after seeing the match earlier. A match between two great powers.

"I'm a wizard, Wolf! I'm a gentleman, not a demon like you who has no manners." Ace pressed Alex's hard chest with the tip of his index finger. "I don't like backstabbing!"

"So…sorry, Alpha. Miss Eden said if you don't allow it. Then she will leave." The servant said according to Eden's advice.

"Tch!" Alex snorted and moved away from the front door. Alex had no choice. There was nothing more terrifying in this world than his little bunny leaving his side.

Ace smirked and took off his white hood. He patted Alex's shoulder as he walked into the room.

Eden lie down limp while staring at the ceiling. Eden thought about Alex's and Ace's words. Many questions started popping up in her mind.

Why was Ace looking for Miguel?

Why did Miguel have the heart to kill Alex's parents?

What would happen if Alex finds out Eden is the daughter of his parents' killer?

But the question that made Eden curious the most was, Who is she?? Human? Wizard? Werewolf?

"Hi, E." Ace went inside, Eden turned her eyes.

Eden's tears fell when he saw Ace coming closer. Ace immediately ran to hug this fragile little creature.

"Shh… sorry, I won't do it again." Ace stroked Eden's back to stop her crying.

Eden nodded. She wiped her tears and began to gather courage to get answers about her life. Eden kept hoping that the man named Miguel Grey -they were referring to- was not her father but a werewolf or another human with the same name.

"Ace. May I ask a question?"

"Of course, E."

"Miguel Grey, the man that you asked Alex, what does he look like? And… why are you looking for him?" Eden's question made Ace raise an eyebrow.

"Why do you want to know him, E?"
