It was spring in Medini, the birds were chirping joyous songs and flowers were dancing due to the spring breeze. The smell of fresh air carrying subtle hints of wildflowers and the upcoming summer could be felt all across. Fields were full of crops swaying in the breeze and the farmers were busy preparing for the harvest. The whole town of Doina was in a festive mood.
Residents of the town have gone beyond themselves and decorated the town to welcome the merchants and traders, who will be visiting them in a few days to trade the harvest and other handicrafts.
With all the excitement in the whole town, everyone was happy and enjoying every moment except Satvik. He was tucked in a makeshift crib with his eyes shut in deep thought.
It has been a week since Satvik's parents sacrificed their lives to pave a path for Satvik's mission given by the gods.
A week of anguish and rethinking the task he has been assigned with.
Aisha and Dhruv, the couple who had adopted Satvik have been showering him with all the love in the world. Especially, Aisha, she had been constantly around him 24*7 not letting him go away from her sight.
She found a bracelet on Satvik's name engraved on it, so they thought it would be appropriate that his name remains the same as decided by the dead parents. Both of them became parents for the first time, so they tried extra hard to take care of Satvik.
Though Satvik never created a lot fuss and it was easy for the rookie parents to take care of two week old kid. But he deeply missed his parents.
Although it was a short reunion he was thankful to the gods for providing them another chance to see each other once again.
Before parting away his mother had granted him ability to see things which was not visible to normal eyes and his father has granted him a illusive shield that conceals his presence to beings who intent to harm him which in his case is the Ashaanti and his minion followers.
He had somewhat idea how to activate the skill that his mother has granted due to his father's explanation but there was no information regarding his father's skill, which is a passive one.
When he was mulling over his thoughts, someone entered his room. Satvik's gaze fell on the intruder or so he thought.
Aisha was standing near the door. She had brown curls that went very well with her blue porcelain eyes. After being enraptured by her eyes one would notice her smile that seemed to be infectious. She had dusky skin tone and stood at 160cm, which was average height for woman of this world. Over and all she was a small town beauty.
Aisha came next to him and picked him up from the crib and went out for a walk. This has become their daily routine.
People first use to feel pity towards her, all of her friends especially felt sorry for her when they discovered the fact that even after 7 years of marriage she couldn't become a mother.
But from the past 7 days, Aisha has been boasting about how wonderful her child is. This annoyed her friends a little but deep inside they were really happy for her. They all knew how wonderful of a person she was.
Satvik also had formed some attachment towards her and slowly but surely was able to accept the fact that she was her mother from now on.
"Look Sati, there are so many food stalls and rides because of the festival. I am hoping we can enjoy them together as soon as you grow up" said Aisha with the beaming smile of a kid.
Satvik was having a hard time dealing with his new nickname granted by her energetic mother.
Aisha's friends who were also with them started laughing in unison. Satvik didn't mind these strolls and has grown to look forward to them daily. This is something that his mother used to do as well.
"Ais, Saati has to be at least 4 years to enjoy the festival at the fullest. Don't be that impatient girl" said one of her friends.
Aisha sighed and said, "I know that. But you guys have already done this with your children, so you know what I'm going through."
Others laughed dryly while reminiscing the old days when their kids use to be obedient unlike now. They all had kids in varying ages who have grown up enough to become more troublesome than they were adorable.
"You once he grows old enough he will become nothing more than bundle of problems. You would want to throw him out of the wall so the monster could scare the sh*t out of them" said another lady in the group with a smile and dead eyes. She was a mother of two annoying teens.
Everyone gulped after listening to her. "There she goes again with her blabbering," said one of Aisha's friends.
"My saati would never be like that," said Aisha while embracing Satvik.

When Aisha came back home from her evening walk, Dhruv was already waiting for the duo on the couch.
Dhruv had a well-built tan body due to the labour he had to do in the fields. He had short black hair and green eyes and his height was 175 cm. Aisha and Dhruv together were a handsome couple and had a very happy marriage.
He was very busy these days due to the harvest season, but he still came early to spend some time with the newest member of his family. Dhruv, like Aisha, showered Satvik with attention and love.
Aisha handed over the child to her husband and went to the kitchen to cook supper. While looking at his wife who was happily humming songs while cooking, Dhruv felt that his heart was full and finally at ease.
He had seen the sad look in her wife's eyes when she use to look at another woman, happily holding their child in their embrace.
Then he looked at Satvik and said with a smile. "I don't know why things happened this way, but I'm forever in the debt of your parents to leave you to us. I don't know how long it had been the last time I saw my wife this happy and energetic."
Satvik looked at his adoptive father and his eyes glittered with red mana. He had somewhat got the hang of his ability now.
His father's aura had a faint silver hue. So he came to the conclusion that silver aura means people who are a believer in a neutral deity or atheists who isn't hostile towards the pantheon which had sent him to this world. He still had a lot to learn about his abilities and what the auras meant.
"Dear, dinner is ready. Please put Saati back in the crib" said Aisha from the kitchen.
Dhruv accepted his wife's command and after tucking Satvik in for the night went for dinner.
While his adoptive parents were having dinner, Satvik was mulling over his future plans.
He had 18 years which were granted to him by sacrifices. He had to gain enough strength so, no more sacrifices need to be made in the future by his loved ones.
He would be facing many powerful foes in the near future which might endanger the lives of his adoptive parents as well. So he decided to do what he could do, for now, training his unique ability for now. But its full capabilities were still restricted due to its locked status.
So he came to the conclusion that for now, he can't do anything other than be dependent on others.
With the feeling of helplessness, Satvik fell asleep.
