Asher didn’t show any surprise. Instead, he chuckled and said, “I just figured.” He turned his head to Lu Tao, who was sitting on the bed. “My old buddy seems to be getting impatient because we’ve been talking for a long time.”

Cheng Jin looked at Lu Tao’s face and saw that his husband indeed looked a bit impatient. Ever since he lost his memory, he would show different kinds of expressions, and he seemed much more lively.

But Cheng Jin wasn’t used to it.

As he walked to the bedside, Cheng Jin subconsciously apologized under Lu Tao’s dissatisfied eyes, “Sorry, have you waited a long time?” But he felt it inappropriate to ask this, after all, Lu Tao had never waited for him before.

He’d always wanted to pursue him, but he didn’t know how to properly do it. Instead, he had pushed Lu Tao farther and farther.

To his surprise, General Lu Tao said in an aggrieved tone, “I’ve been waiting for a long time.” He reached out his hand, grasped Cheng Jin’s clothes and tugged it. “Didn’t you say you’d come to see me early in the morning? And instead it wasn’t you who came in first, and there’s also the soup you promised?”

His reaction left him speechless. Cheng Jin stared at him with widened eyes. Asher let out an amused smile and thought this image was very funny.

Cheng Jin shook again, and even his face was beet red. Both his hands and feet fumbled as he hurriedly took out what he’d brought. “I brought the soup, now you can eat.” He uncovered the lid.

Because he could feel Lu Tao’s burning gaze, he was even more nervous than when he tried to fool Lu Tao with someone else’s achievements as his own labor.

After the lid was lifted, the aroma of fish soup overflowed, and its thick, white color seemed appetizing. Cheng Jin handed over a spoon. “Try it, although I’m not sure it tastes good. It’s still a bit hot. You have to blow it before drinking.” Asher had suddenly popped up in his mind, who was still standing next to him. He asked, “D-Do you want one, Mr. Rigel?”

Asher originally didn’t want to try it, but when he saw the protective look his old partner and boss had with the food, he said maliciously, “Can I really? Then I would be really honored! Thank you, Mr. Cheng.”

Cheng Jin was surprised. “No, don’t mention it,” he said. Actually, he was just being polite, because Asher looked like he wouldn’t eat just anything. He didn’t expect he’d actually have a taste. But the words had already been said, so he couldn’t take them back. He could only be glad he had cooked enough soup.

But he was willing; General Lu Tao, not so much. As he stared at Cheng Jin’s action of giving Asher soup, his eyes were full of accusation, and with a little bit of distress.

Every scoop Cheng Jin took, his eyes followed back and forth. Cheng Jin originally wanted to scoop some more, but his stare kinda gave him the feeling that he was robbing children’s food. He felt like he couldn’t move his hands, so in the end he only gave Asher half a bowl.

The blond man had a gentle smile, but his eyes were full of interest. Cheng Jin felt a little embarrassed, so whispered, “You, you taste it…”

Lu Tao nodded and drank a second mouthful of the soup. “It’s really delicious!”

Asher also said with a smile, “Yes, it is delicious. Mr. Cheng is a great cook!”

After tasting the soup, he laughed at Lu Tao’s guarded gaze directed at him and said, “Well, I’d better get going. After all, the lord general doesn’t seem inclined for me to stay here either.”

Cheng Jin hurriedly mumbled, “H-how canー”

“I can feel it.” Asher smiled widely. “Although the general doesn’t remember me now, I think he’s cuter now than he was before.”

Cheng Jin was dumbstricken, and an alarm rang in his heart. “C-Cute?”

“Yeah ah, cute.” Asher waved to Lu Tao, “I’ll go first, old man. I’ll come again next time.”

Lu Tao looked at him expressionlessly. Asher also didn’t care, and took a few steps out, but then he suddenly thought of something so he paused. “By the way, Mr. Cheng, if the lord general is discharged from hospital, I’ll pay a visit to your home. Is that possible?”

Cheng Jin nodded hurriedly, “Of course!”

As soon as a certain someone left, Lu Tao seemed to feel that the crisis was over, and his action of eating the soup slowed down, both refined and in line with etiquette. The Lu family was also a part of the “native” families, but they weren’t as old as the Rigels, nor do they have permanent residency.

Their family’s previous title disappeared after his grandfather’s death, and the remaining grandmother and her grandchild became ordinary citizens who could be deported if they did not have enough money. It wasn’t until later when Lu Tao became an officer that their balance wasn’t restricted.

So Lu Tao had learned good etiquette since he was a child. Even when he drank the soup on the sickbed, he’d also revealed a temperament that would make people steal a glance. But when he finished his soup, he turned back to his lively amnesiac self. “Why did you agree to let him come home?” He suddenly screwed up his eyebrows, and he looked cautious. “Are you trying to jump off the rail?”

When Cheng Jin, who was cleaning up the container, heard this sentence,  he knocked over the spoon. He scrambled to pick it up, and his face turned red. “I’m not!”

“Lieutenant General Rigel said he was coming home to see you. It has nothing to do with me,” he added.

“But I didn’t agree to it ah.”

“But isn’t it bad behavior to refuse since the other took the initiative to mention it?” Cheng Jin finally put things in order, but his face was still a scarlet shade. “And how do you know the word ‘jump off the rail’?” If one of them would jump off the rail, that person would be General Lu Tao, okay? He silently murmured in his mind.

After all, he was so in love with his husband that it had never crossed his mind to be affiliated with another man, even during his long ‘solitary boudoir‘.

Lu Tao lit up his light screen, and in the huge screen, he could see the questions he had searched for. Cheng Jin scanned from top to bottom. The more he looked, the more he felt it was unimaginable, because all Lu Tao searched for were marriage and love problems.

—— Marriage law of the Imperial planet.

——What’s the reason for not having children even after seven years of marriage?

——What is an extramarital affair?

——What are the characteristics of cheating?

——What behaviors make your partner more satisfied?

The next were presumably auto-suggested entries, that increasingly turned yellow, such as ‘the best way to have sex’, ‘where are the sensitive spots of new females’, and ‘what is a new female’. Cheng Jin increasingly grew bright red, and in the end he was so ashamed he couldn’t lift his face. He whispered, “Why are you reading these….”

“The doctor said I’m currently ill and there’s only so little knowledge in my brain, so I need to learn.” He spoke very righteously. To illustrate, he picked up an object nearby and asked Cheng Jin, “What is this called?”

Cheng Jin was stunned. “Wu fruit.” It was a kind of berry, and said to be anhydrous. In fact, it was full of juice and very sweet. It was a kind of fruit that most people liked to eat.

Lu Tao said, “You see, you know what this is called, but I don’t.” He clicked his own light screen.

“I only found out after searching. Although my condition would only last six to eight months, I can’t live with an empty head. I have to study. And my secretaryー I was told he’s my secretary, Fei Li said that I don’t have to go to the battlefield now. I’ve also been given eight months of paid leave. I’ll be spending the rest of my life with you, so I’ll have to relearn how to live with you all over again.”

And then he added, “Fei Li also explained the meaning of paid leave to me. I couldn’t understand it, though I could say it.”

Cheng Jin’s eyes widened, and Lu Tao concluded, “So, you still think I shouldn’t read these?”

Cheng Jin was completely convinced. The man raised his eyebrows again. “Or perhaps, you can teach me something?”

His tone was low and ambiguous. Because his voice sounded too magnetic, when it passed Cheng Jin’s ears, it had a tantalizing effect, which soon made him blush again.

So Cheng Jin spent almost all day doing a Q&A with Lu Tao. After another breathtaking parting kiss, Cheng Jin got on the bus home and spent the evening working on the expensive dress.

General Lu Tao was in good physical condition. After another week in the hospital, he had no physical problems other than his amnesia, so he was told he could be discharged.

On the day he was discharged from the hospital, his grandmother also came with a strong desire to take him back to their ancestral house, but Lu Tao refused, so she had no choice but to watch her grandson walk away with Cheng Jin.

Cheng Jin sold all his valuable assets, so he had no means of transportation. Fortunately, Fei Li also came, and he drove over. After stuffing all the luggage in the back compartment, Cheng Jin thanked him apologetically, “Thank you. If you hadn’t come here, we would have a little trouble going back.”

Fei Li threw a glance at the tall man who had sat in the back seat and said in a calm voice, “It’s nothing. It’s originally my job.”

Cheng Jin was a bit curious. “Do you still need to go to work even when he’s on vacation?”

As if he had heard something funny, Fei Li couldn’t help but laugh. “Of course, Mr. Cheng.” He paused, then said, “In fact, the lord general asked me to order a car more than three months ago.”

Cheng Jin looked at him with an unknown gaze.

“It’s a private car,” said Fei Li.

There were three types of plates on the Imperial planet: One for public transport, one for military use, and one for private use. Lu Tao had a title and the rank of a general. He had both a car and a small spaceship, but all his vehicles had military license plates. Strictly speaking, only he could use them, not others. Accordingly, he couldn’t own private vehicles.

Cheng Jin froze when he heard his explanation.

Fei Li also seemed to find it difficult to speak. After a moment’s hesitation, he said, “The car arrived ten days ago, and because the lord general didn’t say who he was giving it to, I don’t know what to do with it. Since Mr. Cheng is in a bit of trouble, I wonder if I can put the car in your and the lord general’s home first?”

The secretary absolutely had good intentions, but Cheng Jin only felt sick.

Given Lu Tao’s previous hatred for him, he certainly wouldn’t be a narcissist and think Lu Tao ordered the car for him.

But to whom was it for?

“Okay, thank you.” Cheng Jin was too shaken out of his wits. He pursed his lips and in the end couldn’t help asking, “You really don’t know who it’s for, Mr. Fei Li? Is there….anyone…in your mind?” Lu Tao didn’t love him, but that didn’t mean he didn’t have anyone he loved. Cheng Jin had imagined it a lot of times, but when he really had to face it, he was still hurt.

Fei Li’s eyes gradually grew calm, and his voice steady. “I don’t know,” he said. “I’m sorry, Mr. Cheng.”
