"San, we should've gone with Oa. Why are we going with these bunch." Cassandra was joined the others ignoring Casanova's pleading eyes.

"Cause, she wasn't interested in us tagging along. We would have only slowed her down. Else she wouldn't have ignored us like she did back there."

Their party went towards the west while Owen went to the east. Owen wasn't interested in babysitting the players. While the two sisters argued, Owen was busy killing the elite bosses that had pinned down a few survivors from the hunting party.

"help." As he was checking out the surrounding area, a weak sound reached him from behind a boulder. Owen approached the boulder only to find a female hunter leaning over a body of another. The woman was weeping quietly hugging the torn body of her partner.

Owen waited for her to calm down. From the way the body was mangled, it looked like the guy was trying to block some beast from getting past him, probably trying to buy time for the girl.

"Where you the one he was trying to protect?" Owen's voice woke her up from her sorrow. The woman looked at Owen in a daze and soon recognised him.

"Lady Owen! If only you were a little early!"

She let go of the body and tried to get back up only to be forced to fall back. Her legs were injured. Realising her plight, she suddenly panicked.

"Don't worry. I can heal you." Owen cast a minor heal that slowly helped her recovered her muscle strength. "You didn't tell me. Where you the one he was trying to help?"

"No, I wasn't in his party. We split up after we entered the meadow. I went with a few other to find some bird meat. My husband and daughter went with the others. They were supposed to keep an eye out for mutated beasts."

"Ok." Owen looked around the place and found nothing significant apart from a few footprints walking further away the boulder. "It looks like some survived. Where is your party, by the way?"

"We were attacked by a direboar. I split up when it became too difficult to handle. We had lost three fighters to that thing."

"Direboar? Alright then, you husband isn't going to comeback. Now, either you wait here and become mutant food or we could go looking for your daughter."

It was rude but the man had made a choice. If the little girl was lucky and survived, then his sacrifice wouldn't be in vain. Owen had already wasted too much time considering the clock was ticking.

"I'm Sara. His name is John. We were the first settlers in Naglorent. Now, a that remains is me and maybe my daughter if she survived." Sara walked right behind Owen making sure she always looked behind her back ensuring that nothing was following them.

"Good to know. Looks like the they haven't gone too far. I can already sense some nether aura around the place. Be careful." Owen could clearly see the girl and a few other survivors further ahead thanks to his mana sense but Sara being a low level hunter wouldn't be able to understand the mage skills. Owen had no reason to show his cards.

The prospect of rejoining he daughter make Sara more perky and her pace quickened. As Owen said, the two met a few the other party buddy defending themselves from a bunch of low level monsters. From the looks of it, they were loosing.

"Why are they not teleporting back to town? Did they not buy the teleport scrolls from the town hall?" It was always a curiosity for Owen who had spent the better part of his teenage years in the game world why the NPCs never used the teleport scrolls to get out of trouble. Any player would immediately rip one of they thought they were going to die.

"Teleport scrolls? I'm not sure. They takes 60 seconds to activate. You could die in 10 seconds let alone 60 if you stand still when facing a beast."

"60 seconds? Why, mine are an instant teleport scrolls."

"Those things cost too much money, lady. Most of us can't afford to buy those items and they are also on limited supply. I heard only those at the very top are given such teleport scrolls."

Owen was surprised but soon understood. Creating space artifacts cost a ton of mana and even if it's a single use, the scrolls were dealing with space magic. Even at his current level Owen wasn't able to unlock space magic path which started making him a bit jealous of those with the space magic talent.

Owen couldn't bother anymore and released his mana. This was enough to scare the mutant beast to stumble and paste it's assualt. Gripping his mace he jumped in to the meds and instantly vaporised the poor beasts.

"Lady Oa, thank you for saving our lives." His name was spread through the town and almost everyone knew her identity. While most looked at her with disgust before, the few around he had turned their attitude to worship almost becoming fanatics watching his strength.

"You can just call me Oa. I'm not a noble after all. Calling me a lady would be against the kingdom's rules."

"Even if lady isn't a noble, to us common folks you are a hero. How could we possibly deny you this status. What nobles? When have they ever cared about us. Our lady is the only noble lady."

'Is this the effect of the HERO tag?' Owen wasn't sure if this was a good thing or bad. If the people started revolting against the nobles with him at the helm, then there was a change the kingdom's army would come looking for her. Even with her current growth, the possibility of defeat still existed and the chances of failing her special quest would increase.

To Owen a noble title wasn't worth the risk at the moment. He had the strength to become an emperor let alone a noble. But the era of players hasn't reached yet. The NPCs still held most power.

'I will leave the town after finishing my quest anyways. It shouldn't be a problem.'
