day 10
I spent the past week experimenting with water bending abilities with mix results. I also made crude gear to protect my vitals, similar to my choker talisman. 'I took the time to study the choker talisman in my possession' learning how to braid in the process using different cloth strips and flexible tree vines into different basic woven protections.
'From what I remember about bending it had something to do with ki. There's water bending, Blood bending, plant bending, healing, and probably other methods I'm not aware of'.
It started by me remembering the sensation of falling at the waterfall, reaching out for the water and I practice water bending at the tide pools. I succeeded in making ripples and waves where my hand pass over, but couldn't reproduce the geyser from before. For blood bending I experimented on myself, only to succeed in making my blood pump faster, or slower at will, 'I call the abilities blood speed and blood stop'. I've tried controlling shellfishes to move on land, They bloated from there shells when I did,'maybe I should practice under the moonlight like in the show?'. Plant bending came rather easy to me and it depended on the type of plant. Thinner plants including trees and vines can bend in limited directions. I've manage to bend one tree into an arch after spending an entire day holding it in place so it remain in the arch position, 'It's a lot like doing extreme yoga for the entire day'. Healing took a lot of trial and error, I started experimenting with small cuts on my arm trying to heal it with water and without. I trigger the healing through my breathing and focusing on the effect area, a orange iridescent beneath my skin starts to glow. Inhaling causes a warm soothing sensation, exhaling causes a cool soothing sensation. Small wounds will heal instantly leaving no scar with water, and wounds will heal slower without water, 'I have the sneaking suspicion I'm using my blood, because I feel anemic after a while when I use it for a prolong time'.
Facing the jungle, I enter and headed toward the waterfall. Over the past week I scouted the waterfall and learn the badger monkeys will not come down from the top of the waterfall, but I can hear them from the bottom. I activated blood speed, the waterfall went into slow motion and what would have taken me 20 minutes to climb before now, just takes less than 2. I'm at the top, finding a tree to hide behind, no badger monkey insight but in earshot. This is the downside of speeding up my blood flow, crippling muscle atrophy. I began my healing breathing and entered a meditative state. The crippling atrophy turn to muscle soreness and I began to survey the area. There's an upward path toward the beach cliff side. The jungle canopy eventually parted away leading to a more rocky terrain area, that led to a cliff-side hanging over the shipwreck below.
Reaching the cliff top, looking over the edge and out to the surroundings. I saw coastline for miles around and rocky cliff mounds peering throughout the jungle foliage out in the distance. Only a mountain in the distance would provide a better vantage, but its too far away right now. There's no sign of civilization insight or ships over the horizon, only the shipwreck of the rocky shore below.
'I'm probably on an island or jungle peninsula. How did the that ship below get shipwreck? All I remember was that maelstrom entity when I first arrive here.'
ideas, thoughts, and plans came to me on how should I escape from this place, before I was brought out of my stupor.
"Oooh, uuuuh, uhhh" I turn around to find a dozen or so badger monkeys at the entrance of the jungle slowly creeping toward me with a murderous look in their eyes.
I looked over the edge and back to the badger monkey's, the badger monkeys started to charge at me with feral ferocity, teeth showing and all.

'Death by my face being ripped off by badger monkeys, or a 1000 foot drop on to the rocky shores'.
I leapt off the cliff, activating blood speed in the process. The world slowed to a crawl, the rocky shore below ever coming closer. With the sensation of falling engulfing my body I reach my hands out towards the sea water below. The water swirl and congeal together before rushing like a geyser at me. I felt a hard impact knock out the wind from as I was slam into the geyser and was flung into the ocean. Submerged under water, still conscious I tried swimming towards the surface making no progress. I'm in a rip current being pull deeper in the water and I'm running out of air. 'crap, what should I do? how do I get out of a rip current? why didn't I practice swimming more? I'm a water bender, theoretically I should be able to breathe underwater'.
I breathe a hand full of seawater before violently started coughing, 'wait I was thinking of mermaids'. I lost my control and the rip current took me further under slamming me head first into a large coral reef, knocking me unconscious.
I woke on the beach in a coughing fit. A streak of blood running down the sands probably from me as I examine my head, 'Is that brain matter, no I can feel bone, I'm still safe'. Running sea water over my head I felt a brief stingy pain, before activating my healing breathing. There's a scar from my eyebrow leading into my hair line.
"mhiisss, mmhissss". A instinctual fear stuck me.
I turn around to see a huge cat face snake peering at from the jungle entrance coil along the tree that head my hammock, 'fuck, why can't I catch a break. Shit, those fangs are huge and is that acid dripping from them?'. I unhooked the bone spear from my back and brought it in front of me, never taking eyes off from the cat snake. That night I spent in the shipwreck, the high tide came dangerously close from being submerge completely, I slept in a half awake state to keep the water away.
'I need to find a safer place'.
A/N you can to swim down to the sea floor if caught in a rip current. Questions, edits, and suggestions are always welcome in the comment's.
Pls and thank you.
