CHAPTER 6
“Ugh, I need a bag to put some of these sunberries in. Who knows when I’ll find any food again? Not to mention I don’t have any money at all.”
“You don’t need a bag,” said the purple kangaroo nonchalantly.
“What do you mean, I don’t need a bag?”
“Simple, access your interface, then click on <INVENTORY>. Once that is done, just start tossing sunberries into the screen, which will store them in your inventory. You’ll be able to access the berries whenever you like.”
My jaw dropped, and I accessed my inventory just like Fozzy instructed. I reached toward the nearest sunberry in the bush and picked it. “So I just drop it on the screen?”
“Yes, that’s it.”
I held my hand over the screen and let go of the berry. There was a minor flash when the berry reached the screen and it disappeared. I noticed that a new folder appeared in the inventory immediately.
Food
When I clicked on the <FOOD> folder, I saw another folder within that one called <FRUIT>. When I clicked on that, I saw the sunberry in the inventory.
Sunberries [1]
“Awesome.”
Fozzy predicted what my next question would to be and answered. “You can access the item by grabbing the berry back out with your hand. Try it.”
Everything worked as the kangaroo said, and I was holding the yellow berry in my hand again. “Amazing. How many items can I store in my inventory?”
“At S-Rank, you can store an infinite amount of items. Food and materials will not spoil or deteriorate while in stasis in your inventory. I still can’t believe you are S-Rank. It’s super rare. I can’t wait to see what you can do in battle.”
Battle was the last thing on my mind. I began picking sunberries like a madman and tossing them in my inventory. I continued to eat almost as much as I saved. I paid the price as well. I became nauseous, and I regretted binging on the delicious fruit. Eventually, I cleared all the berries on the bush.
Sunberries [84]
“Next on the agenda is learning to fight,” Fozzy interjected as sunberries traveled from my stomach back to my throat. I belched, swallowing them back down.
“Excuse me, I’m not feeling well.”
“You ate a lot of them. I didn’t take you for such a glutton. Luckily, at S-Rank, your metabolism is insanely high so you will have to try extremely hard to become obese.”
I ignored the jab from the purple creature and exhaled. “You were going to show me how to fight?”
Fozzy nodded and snapped his fingers again. There were six flashes, followed by the appearance of the tried-and-true dummies that gamers run into when they start a character.
I chuckled and shook my head. “You’ve gotta be kidding me.”
“Why would I be kidding you? You’re a peculiar guy. Now, punch!”

I nodded and threw my enormous fist at the closest dummy and obliterated it with ease. “Damn!”
“Damn is right. You have to be insanely strong to destroy one of these training dummies. They’re equipped to handle everything so people can train on them. Sheesh. You’re going to need to learn to hold back a bit when you hit things. Try again, but hold back this time.”
I threw another punch, but with half the amount of force as the one before. The dummy shattered.
“Dude, I said you needed to hold back.”
“I did hold back. Let me try again.”
The next punch I threw wasn’t hard enough to destroy the dummy. “There,” I heard a crack a second after that word left my mouth, and the dummy fell over like a cut tree. “Well, shit.”
“Hold–”
I cut off Fozzy before he could finish. “I got it this time. Watch and learn.” I struck at the next dummy with a little less force, then paused. There was no crack, no nothing. I succeeded in not destroying the dummy with my S-Rank power. “Boom, did it. Didn’t do it is probably the better way of saying it.”
“Nice. It’ll take you some practice. Very few people on Solaire have to learn to hold back because they are too powerful. Make sure you strike only the bad guys,” Fozzy joked, “Now, let’s see you use one of your special abilities. You won’t be able to hold back with these. This should be fun to see. Pick one ability you want to try.”
I accessed the screen in my interface and looked over the outlandishly named attacks at my S-Rank disposal. Why not just try out the first one?
Ultra Titan Smash—Powerful hammer fist attack that will obliterate a single opponent at 200% attack damage. Cooldown of 20 seconds.
“Let’s do Ultra Titan Smash, I suppose. What now?”
“It’s easy. Let me stand back first. I feel sorry for this dummy,” Fozzy hopped away a few feet and took a deep breath, “Focus on the dummy and say the skill.”
“That’s it?”
“Yup, that’s it.”
I nodded and placed my eyes on the dummy directly in front of me. “Ultra Titan Smash!” It was as if an unseen ghost forced me into action. I lunged at the dummy with my fist raised in the air and dropped it on top of the dummy. The dummy disintegrated, and I left a small crater in its wake. “Good, God almighty!”
“Holy moly!” Fozzie exclaimed, then laughed. “You’re even more powerful than I thought. Like I said, you’re the first S-Rank guy or gal that I have seen. Why don’t you try your other attacks out later? You’ve got the idea.”
“All this power is overkill. Why does someone need to be this strong? I don’t get it. Why me?”
“You’re complaining about too much power? Really?” Fozzy fell on his back laughing then rolling around.
“Glad I’m able to entertain you. Psh.”
After a couple minutes of irritating laughter at my expense, the kangaroo stood back up and gained his composure. “I’m sorry, you’re a unique dude.
“Whatever. What I’m interested in right now is cooking. Show me how to do that.”
