Todd Reed is a young man with a problem. The day before the Change, he was the king of the small hill of his school’s nerds and outcastes. The day after, left with no fantastic Race and a sex-activated Class nobody believed, he had nothing. Now eighteen, he sets off for college, hoping to make a new start in a world gone mad. A way to keep himself going, away from painful memories.

Events will not simply let him go. A chance encounter with one of those unfortunate memories will push him along the path to develop his abilities properly. Larger forces are at work around him, women dealing with pain of their own, organizations trying to gather power, and a school with goals unknown. How is one kid supposed to make it through all of this?
