The days passed as I felt like a prisoner inside my own palace, my very own bedroom! Then, nearly an entire week later, I heard the voice of one of my captors. “Hey! The boss wants you!” The Harpy I still hadn’t learned the name of informed me.
I was told to go to the royal court where Maou the Demon King was waiting for me. I arrived there with defiance as I tried my best to show that I wasn’t afraid. Once I got there Maou was sitting in the highest seat chuckling as he watched me watch inside. “Oh, glad to see you didn’t cry yourself to death!” Maou said theatrically as I entered the room.
I held my ground as I tried to make it look like I didn’t care. “Ah, don’t be like that!” Maou continued as I frowned. “A face like yours shouldn’t frown like that, it makes it less stupefying!” He says before leaping down to join me on the floor as he then walked over to me.
“So is that it? Did you call on me only to comment on my appearance?” I said as he gazed into my narrowed eyes. “I know you plan to make me your wife after you defeat Amati but I will never accept. Not like you would get the chance to pull that off.”
Maou frowned before stepping back and summoning a floating circle that revealed Amati traveling with a group of two others. “Amati!?” I shouted out in shock and fear at the implications. “You have been spying on Amati this whole time? Does that mean she is near, is that why you called me here?”
Maou nodded his head before he dispersed the circle. “Yes on all accounts, ever since a year ago I have been sending my minions to try and wipe out Amati. Unfortunately, all I have sent have failed utterly and were punished dearly for it.” Maou said with a disappointed sigh. “Here is a gift, so you can watch my elite generals stomp Amati and her weakling friends.”
Maou handed out a mirror that spied on Maou’s ‘elite generals’ and Amati and her allies. She looked to be traveling with a mage and a bearded warrior. “Now, we shall head to the royal bedroom where I will defeat Amati. Or we will watch her and her lowly friends be defeated, either way, we will ‘celebrate’ by a proposal and taking your virginity.” Maou said with a lecherous smile before he teleported me away.
As the royal bedroom faded in I jumped back as I saw a frightening sight. It was my mother, still petrified yet in an entirely different position and even her clothes were changed. “Mother! I swear he will pay for this!” I cry out as I regained my composure.
As I was recovering from my shock and sadness I heard the door open and close. “Uh, I forget to warn you about your mother. Apologies.” Maou said as he looked upon me as I turned to him with watery eyes. “I tried to ease her pain for you but she just wouldn’t calm down. So I had to put her back in regrettably.”
“Liar!” I shouted back which caused him to flinch as this was the first time I shouted so loudly since the day we met. “If so then why is she wearing different clothes!?” Maou looked back at my mother and then back at me. “Answer me!”
“I told you… I tried to ease her and she wouldn’t calm down. Be thankful I decided to keep myself clean for you. Though I admit after I make you my wife I will still use my harem and perhaps add even more to it, though you have my word that your mother is no longer planning to join that group.” He explained as if he was doing me a favor. “Now enough of the unpleasant past, let’s talk about the pleasant future. Stay here and enjoy the show.”
With those parting words, Maou teleported away to an unknown location inside the palace. After a few minutes where I lay frozen, I did as he suggested and pulled out the magic mirror and watched Amati as she and her helpers stand outside the Dark Castle. “You ready? Frank? Cynthia?” Amati asked the two with her.

The bearded warrior answered her first. “Hahahaha, do you need to even ask!? We followed you around the world and we aren’t going to stop when we finally have arrived at where we were working towards all this time!” The warrior who I supposed is named Frank laughed. “Cynthia thinks the same, right?”
“Of course.” Cynthia said shortly and to the point. “I may have not followed you as long as Frank here has, but I assure you I am as loyal as he is. My loyalty is as undying as a flame you could say.” Cynthia seemed to be a mage as she started a fire in her palm before extinguishing it.
“Heh, you always say the most cryptic stuff Cyn!” Amati shouted before patting the woman on the back to which Cynthia jumped before pointing her head away as her cheeks became tinted. “Now let’s go and save princess Sonya! Who’s with me!?” Amati yelled out before she was joined by her friends.
‘You’ve changed I can tell since two years ago… Almost as if you are two different people.’ I thought to myself as I watched them head into the palace. As they entered they came face to face with the first of Maou’s generals, the Earth Elemental. ‘That’s the one who made herself into a boulder to crash through the palace gates!’
“So you are the heroine and her entourage has finally arrived. I have to say you have done well to defeat Maou’s weaker soldiers, but I am a whole other story.” The Earth Elemental taunted. The three heroes wordlessly agreed that Frank should stay behind to distract the Earth Elemental as the others tried to rescue me. So Amati and Cynthia began to circle around the monster and as she went to strike at them Frank attacked with his large hammer that the monster avoided.
“Sorry rough cheeks, but your opponent is me!” Frank reminded the monster as he went to attack the monster girl. The two circled each other looking for a prime time to strike. “You know, you aren’t as tough as you look!” Frank shouted out as he swung his massive hammer and hit true sending the monster girl flying.
“Damn it all!” The monster cursed as her body made a large crater in the palace wall causing the whole building to shake. As Frank was rushing toward where she landed to finish her off the monster caused a stone pillar to emerge from the floor to block his path. Frank just kept running and swung his metallic which easily crushed the pillar as if it was made of weaker stuff. “How could you be so strong!?”
“Amati may be the heroine but I am the one who taught her how to wield a weapon! I haven’t lost a step since!” Frank shouted as he swung his hammer into the Earth Elemental crushing her deeper into the wall before she was forced through it! She landed in the opposite room as the light in her eyes faded. “Now, I need to regroup with the others!”
The mirror then switched to show Amati and Cynthia rushing through the palace, easily dealing with any monster that tried to slow them down. That was until the two of them ran into the giant the Demon King called Eulises. “YOU SHALL GO NO FURTHER!” The giant yelled out his voice echoing across the entire palace to which I didn’t even need the mirror to hear it. “I SHALL CRUSH YOU, WANNABE HEROINES!”
“Amati go ahead and rescue the princess! I will burn away this ugly giant!” Cynthia told Amati, Amati looked back at her and after a moment nodded her head in affirmation. She then slide through between the giant’s legs as Eulises was distracted by Cynthia’s fireballs. “They say the taller they are the harder they fall, let’s test that theory!” Cynthia shouted out as Eulises approached her with malicious intent.
Cynthia then built up magic in her throat before bellowing our fire from her throat as if she was a dragon burning the giant's face. "ARGH, YOU WILL PAY!" The giant screamed as it brought his massive hand and gripped Cynthia's clothes before lifting her up with ease as she tried to struggle out of it. All that did however cause her clothes to rip making her fall to the floor with a thud. "HAHAHAHA, HOW DO YOU THINK YOU CAN FACE THE DEMON KING WITH SUCH WEAKNESS!?"
