*Warning Depictions of Gore*

Vivien’s throat throbbed as her roar flew above the soldiers, guiding them like the sun illuminating the world. Standing on the wall, she overlooked them as they bustled there and here with this and that. Satisfied, she turned her head over her shoulder, paranoid about any unannounced monsters. That gray wall stood still, touching the heavens; it spawn random pixels of different colors here and there only to get devoured by that wall. It still stood still, calm as ever. Nothing erupted from it.

‘I know he's right, he always is…’ Vivien thought. Nothing will happen today. ‘He’d be so much more if it weren’t for that bed warmer!’ Vivien wanted to scream. Scream at Sebastian, scream at Aiden.

Scream at the world.

But she can’t. She sighed, facing forward again, admiring her men soon clearing out the wall. ‘At least they can do something instead of playing in bed all day.’ The sun soon stepped over the horizon.

He is right. As usual. Nothing happened.

The butler stepped forward waiting for Vivien’s blessing.

“What is it?” She asked, judging the sun as it slipped under the horizon. Pathetic.

“Um… There's a messenger from Strafer City. I showed him to that room.” Vivien turned her head only to see his eyes studying the floor they walked on. “Tsk,” she snapped her fingers, “lead.” A set of stairs soon appeared descending to that room. She reached out her hand and the butler placed both of her cold weapons into her hands. They jumped and shaked within her hands.

He still didn’t make eye contact. “Coward,” she said, descending the stairs.  “At least it's announced. Prepare a bath for me.“ With each step, the solid darkness cracked and shattered, leaving nothing behind besides shards. She walked , and soon arrived in a room. A room without doors or windows.

No hope of escape. A solid square. Nothing humane.

Including the ‘messenger.’

He readjusted his purple clothing with his long bony fingers. His waist boasted a baton with a shimmering icy aura. “Ah, hello ma’am Vivien. I came bearing news from Strafer City!”

“Hmm.. what of?” She said, eyeing the creature. It paid no attention to her rattling firearm.

“Yes, there was a monster raid that was about to flatten the city.” He said gleefully, its smile itching his eyes.

‘A raid the Prophet didn’t predict? Or maybe we were packing too slowly? It's only been a week since he gave the order. And he didn’t predict it since Aiden’s scheme actually caused something?’

“Who sent you?” She strangled her weapons, driving away any life they did have. There is a time and place for everything, now's not the time.

“Alyssa and the nobles of the city requesting reinforcements.” His chin lifted as he placed his boney fingers behind his back.

“And?” She said, loosening her grip. She shifted her firearm into her left hand as she smoothly caressed the hammer. Her whip flipped about as she lost the tension.

A foreboding feeling washed over the messenger as he looked down at her hands, understanding his unwelcome presence. “That’s all.”

“... You're dismissed.” He turned to leave just to noticed,

There is no door. The firearm rammed the bullet outward like a goring bull, just to flatten against ‘it’s’ frozen body. He turned to face her, only to witness her whip outstretching its arm, clawing into ‘it’s’ chest. ‘It’s’ body thumped, falling over. The whip pulled back its treasure, a black throbbing human-like heart.

“They always send gifts,” she said, snapping her fingers. A butler stumbled out behind her. “Clean it up.” She said, placing her weapons into his hands, as they went into a frozen slumber.

“Yes Ma’am,” he said, slightly bowing.

She halted, “And?”

“...And your bath is ready.”

She nodded as she snapped her fingers as she walked into the wall. She stopped again, ‘he led the monster here.’ She turned her head glaring at Howard who still stared at the floor. She sighed, “Pathetic. Figure out what happened with Lilly and Alyssa,” she continued walking into the dark swirls that donned the walls.

“But I'm just a butler…”

Vivien sat in the bath wrestling her hair with several shampoos and conditions. Soon her hair sat lavishly on her shoulder glistening as the dark night sky. She stroked her hair, admiring her efforts. Her eyes soon fixated upon the scratches and dents in her skin, she rubbed them up and down, as if she could erase such markings.

But it’s impossible; they’re scars.

She leaned back onto the bathtub as it held her steadily in place. She looked through the tinted window, normally opened as the fresh air refreshed one's health. ‘But there's so many perverts here..’ She thought, her eyelids sheltering her eyesight, “...Aiden is lucky…,” soon falling asleep.
