Chapter 2: C2. Jealousy makes the CEO reveal himself

The next morning, Xiao Le wakes up later than usual on a weekend. He would usually be up by 8 to have breakfast with Xiao Gui but today he wakes up at 10. 

And right away, he realises that he is alone in bed. Where is Ah Ming? 

He quickly gets up and goes to the living room. Ah Ming is nowhere in sight. But, there is food on the table. Porridge with dough fritters, buns and milk. There is also a note. 

Xiao Le, I had something urgent to attend to. Here's breakfast and thank you for last night. 

Xiao Le smiles at the note. He does not know why seeing it makes him happy. He goes to brush his teeth and wash up before sitting down happily to eat breakfast. 

While biting into a bun, he gets an idea. He takes a selfie and sends it to Ah Ming. 

Xiao Le: Delicious breakfast! Thank you. 

Ah Ming's reply comes fast. 

Ah Ming: Last night was more delicious. 

Xiao Le grins. He thinks that Ah Ming is referring to the dinner. While Ah Ming is referring to something else…. 

So Xiao Le stupidly replies: Then, let's do it again. 

Ah Ming: I will hold you to it. 

… 

Gao Tian sets his phone aside with a smirk after replying to Xiao Le. That guy… is way too dumb. 

But Gao Tian could not get over what happened last night. And he wants more. He wants Xiao Le to be entirely his and he, committed to only Xiao Le. Only because it is Xiao Le. Someone who shows him what 'genuine' means in this world of hypocrisy that he grew up in. 

He is determined to make Xiao Le completely his. But right after he settles this one problem. 

Gao Tian flips the file before him with his long fingers.

Standing in front of his desk is Xie Min. He glances up and notices Xie Min looks a little haggard, which is unusual. 

"How did your date go?" Gao Tian asks, lips curling a little. 

"It was… okay." Xie Min answers carefully. 

"Oh? Just okay? The marks on your neck are rather deep." Gao Tian smirks. 

Xie Min's eyes widen as he tugs his collar higher. "Ahem." He clears his throat. "I am sorry, Boss." He is apologetic for showing such an unprofessional image. 

"What are you sorry for? You helped me to distract Xiao Gui. I need you to keep doing so." Gao Tian adds. 

Xiao Le and him can remain as best friends but there is no way he is allowing Xiao Gui to plaster to his beloved that closely. He shall be the one who takes care of Xiao Le now. 

"I doubt you will have any complaints since you spent the night with him?" Gao Tian adds. 

"...No complaints, Boss." Xie Min replies weakly. Of course Gao Tian would know such a thing and it will be impossible to hide from him.

But it is not Xie Min's fault at all. Xiao Gui… is a very determined person. Xie Min had fallen in the rabbit hole and even though he was the top, he was pressed down on the bed by Xiao Gui the whole night until his dick all dried up and his back was numb. (Xie Min is the gong but our mischievous Xiao Gui is the proactive shou) Who knew a virgin's sex drive would be that high? 

"Good, now about this report…" Gao Tian's eyes flash dangerously and Xie Min knows his boss is going into his ruthless mode. 

"Yes, we have confirmed it. The Director of the purchasing department has been embezzling goods and funds. He even swapped some goods for lower grade and takes a cut of the profits. Our loss would be about 2million."

"How long has he been doing this?" Gao Tian asks icily. 

"3 months." Xie Min bows his head. "It is my fault. I should have kept a closer eye."

"It is not your fault. It is mine as the CEO." No matter what, Gao Tian is a responsible businessman. "Call a meeting with the entire purchasing department on Monday with all other directors present. I want to set the stage."

Xie Min understands. "But your identity…" After 3 years, Gao Tian is willing to reveal it? 

"It is time. Besides, I can't hide it forever from Xiao Le. Or maybe I can since he is so naive…" Gao Tian mutters. 

"Alright. I will arrange it." Xie Min smiles. It would be good for Gao Tian to show himself. It would probably boost the company's shares with the mysterious CEO revealing himself. 

But a thought hits Xie Min. His identity as the CEO's assistant will be revealed to Xiao Gui too. He did not tell him last night, only saying he is a worker from the same company. Xie Min suddenly feels a sense of dread. Would Xiao Gui punish him? 

…. 

Xiao Le spends the weekend tidying up the house and watching TV with Xiao Gui. When he questions Xiao Gui about Friday, Xiao Gui admits that he had a date with a guy, shocking Xiao Le. Xiao Le thinks that relationship should be between opposite genders and he does not know much about homosexuality. But being the sweet person he is, Xiao Le says he will be supportive of his best friend. 

"So who is the guy?" 

Xiao Gui smiles. "A really handsome person from our office but another department. I will introduce him to you next week."

"As handsome as Ah Ming?" Xiao Le questions, not realising he is using Ah Ming as a standard for good looks. 

But Xiao Gui grins. "So to you Ah Ming is handsome? Did anything happen to the both of you on Friday?" He is curious to know since he is rooting for the guy and his best friend. 

"Hm? Nothing, we had dinner and… watched TV." Xiao Le lies.

He is not a very good liar so he quickly stands up to go and pour himself some coffee. He doesn't know why, he usually shares everything with Xiao Gui, but regarding that night with Ah Ming, he feels it is too… intimate to share. He feels that it belongs to Ah Ming and him… ah! What is he thinking? It is just two guys helping each other out! Why is his brain making it sound so special? 

Thankfully, Xiao Gui drops the subject because his favourite show comes on. And Xiao Le sips his coffee while checking his phone. Since yesterday, he has not received any messages from Ah Ming… Oh well, he will just see him tomorrow then. 

...

On Monday, Xiao Le and Xiao Gui are both surprised to hear from the Deputy Director that Ah Ming has been transferred to another department. 

"Which department?" Xiao Le asks. Does this mean he would not see Ah Ming again? And why didn’t Ah Ming tell him? Why does he feel sad… 

"I have no idea. I was informed by Human Resources this morning too. But we have another intern coming in today. His name is Wan Hai. You two are in charge of guiding him." As usual, the Deputy Director is throwing such babysitting tasks to them.

When the Deputy Director is about to walk away, he suddenly stops. "Oh, the Director called for a department meeting today at 2pm. He says everyone must attend. The CEO's office wants us to report our numbers."

Xiao Le and Xiao Gui exchange glances. In the past 2 years that they joined, they have not attended such a big meeting before but they can only nod. 

After the Deputy Director leaves, Xiao Le takes out his phone and texts Ah Ming. 

Xiao Le: I heard you got transferred. Why didn't you tell me? 

He waits for 10 minutes but there is no reply. He sighs and sets his phone aside. Xiao Gui glances at his best friend sympathetically. It seems his best friend has fallen for Ah Ming too without realising it… 

At 9am, the new intern, Wan Hai arrives. Wan Hai is good looking and tall, but not as tall as Ah Ming. He seems to be about 180cm. (Xiao Le: Author, I hate you.T.T even Xiao Gui is 175cm. Why did you make me so short?). Wan Hai has a friendly personality, more so than Ah Ming and gets along with everyone. 

Xiao Le who is also kind to everyone likes his personality and they get along well instantly. Honestly, Wan Hai thinks that Xiao Le is quite adorable. When Xiao Le smiles at him, he feels a little soft. He decides right away, he wants to know Xiao Le better. 

Xiao Gui who is very sharp, notices this but he decides not to get involved because he is happy his clueless best friend is popular. Xiao Gui thinks, It is time he finds love anyway… it does not matter who it is. 

Xiao Le, Wan Hai and Xiao Gui go to lunch together. Xiao Le finds Wan Hai to be extremely funny and keeps laughing at his jokes. It seems he temporarily forgets about Ah Ming. After lunch, they head back to the office and prepare for the meeting. 

In the large conference room, usually the management and seniors sit around the round table with the Director at the head. The lower rank executives like Xiao Le and Xiao Gui and interns would sit at a row of chairs by the wall. Xiao Le sits between Wan Hai and Xiao Gui. 

Xiao Le notices that the Director does not sit at the head chair but instead sits beside it. The Deputy Director sits on his other side. 

The Director is a man in his 40s with a bulging belly. Xiao Le never interacted with him much since he does not really care about the lower ranks. 

"The CEO's assistant is coming." The Director informs the room. Somehow, he looks a little worried and scared. 

Everyone starts murmuring wondering what this meeting is for exactly. Some of them have not even seen the CEO's assistant. 

"I wonder what he looks like." Xiao Gui mutters. (But you were riding him two days ago…)

And then the door opens and everyone is shocked. 

Xiao Gui freezes. 

Xiao Le's jaw drops open. 

The person that enters is Ah Ming, followed by a tall, handsome guy dressed in a navy blue three piece suit. Ah Ming looks extremely different. His hair is styled perfectly, accentuating his handsome face. He is dressed in an expensive looking black suit with a white shirt underneath. And his expression is… cold. Extremely cold. 

It reminds Xiao Le of the time he first saw Ah Ming.

"Isn't that our intern…"

"Yeah, isn’t that Ah Ming?" Whispers fleet across the room. 

"Do you know that guy?" Wan Hai whispers. 

"He is… used to be our intern." Xiao Le whispers back dumbly. But somehow Ah Ming does not seem to be an intern now… 

The Director stands up and greets the man beside Ah Ming. "Assistant Xie Min."

Xiao Le notices Xiao Gui clenching his fists. "Xiao Gui, what is wrong?" 

Xiao Gui's eyes flashes. "Nothing. I will tell you later."

"This man was our intern, wasn't he?" The Director smiles. "So he got transferred to your office?" 

Xie Min gives a dry smile. "This the CEO, Gao Tian." 

!!! 

Everyone feels like they have been hit by a lightning bolt. 

Xiao Le almost chokes on his saliva and he starts coughing.  Wan Hai quickly pats on his back while Xiao Gui asks if he is okay. 

His cough causes Gao Tian's eyes to move to him. Gao Tian eyes narrow at the sight of another man he does not recognise touching his Xiao Le! 

"CEO…" The Director is shaking.

The CEO is finally revealing himself! But why? Something must be wrong.

And the Deputy Director is shaking too… He was actually rude to the CEO, when Gao Tian was undercover as an intern. He just threw him to two lowly assistants! 

All the women in the room are also shaking but in happiness. To think the handsome intern is actually the CEO! Now, all the more they want to catch his attention! 

But Gao Tian's eyes are on Xiao Le and the man who is stroking Xiao Le's back gently. Gao Tian's eyes are cold enough to freeze someone to death. 

Xie Min notices, following his gaze. His eyes briefly meet Xiao Gui and he gulps softly. Xiao Gui is glaring at him. He will need to handle his new boyfriend later. If, right now, he does not soothe his CEO, Gao Tian might kill someone. And with his fighting skills, he could indeed. 

Xie Min clears his throat to get everyone's attention. This makes Xiao Le nod thankfully at Wan Hai who finally removes his hand. 

"Other than the CEO, we have invited the other Directors. Please come in." 

Gao Tian moves to sit at the head of the table as the other directors walk in. The Purchasing Director is trembling as he quickly asks his staff to give up their seats. 

Xiao Le, Xiao Gui, the other juniors and interns get up automatically to give up their seats to their seniors, choosing to stand. 

As Xiao Le finds a spot to stand, he sneaks a glance at Ah Ming… No, it should be Gao Tian now. And he realises the CEO has his eyes fixed on him! 

Oh my god. It hits Xiao Le. He cooked such simple dishes for him… watched TV and ate oranges… and worse of all, did such a thing... with the CEO… He touched Gao Tian's…. 

Xiao Le is about to faint. 

"Xiao Le, are you okay?" Wan Hai notices that Xiao Le is becoming more pale and about to pass out. Wan Hai reaches out to grab Xiao Le's arm to steady him.

Bang! 

Everyone jumps and breaks out in a cold sweat. Gao Tian had slammed his fist on the table as he stood up abruptly. Everyone watches with wide eyes as he walks up to Xiao Le, who is becoming dizzy.

And at that moment, Xiao Le faints. 

Gao Tian catches him with lighting reflexes, smacking away Wan Hai's hand, shocking the poor guy. Gao Tian lifts Xiao Le into his arms. He ignores everyone's shock and looks at Xie Min. 

"Do as planned." He orders icily, then he carries Xiao Le out without another word. 

Xie Min nods. He glances at Xiao Gui who is standing behind him and giving him an angry stare which reads: You owe me an explanation. 

For now, he has to focus on carrying out orders. 

… 

Xiao Le feels extremely comfortable. Like he is lying on a really warm pillow. And the pillow smells good too, making Xiao Le sigh in contentment. 

There is a chuckle and his pillow moves. 

Wait, can pillows move? 

Xiao Le opens his eyes.

"You're awake."

"!!!!"

It is not a pillow but…. Xiao Le jumps up and scrambles back on the large leather sofa. He was… lying on the CEO…. the pillow was his chest!! And Xiao Le had sniffed his chest… 

Gao Tian sits up with a smile. His white shirt is now a little crumpled. "You could have slept more if you want. I had a doctor check on you. You passed out due to shock, nothing serious. But you slept for an hour."

That is right! Xiao Le had passed out because he was so shocked and embarrassed he had done such a thing with the CEO… 

But why is he with Gao Tian now? 

After he passed out, did Gao Tian carry him away? 

Xiao Le glances around. This… is a really large and luxurious looking office. The floor-to-ceiling glass windows are overlooking the city. "Where am I?" He blurts out a question. 

"My office."

Xiao Le's eyes almost pop out. "You carried me to your office? In front of everyone?" 

What is everyone going to think?! 

Gao Tian nods. He adds silently: Because I was sick of that asshole touching you! 

Xiao Le jumps up. "Uh.. thank you CEO for your kindness...I should go back to work!" He will definitely need to explain to everyone… 

Before Xiao Le can escape through the large wooden doors, a strong arm is wrapped around his waist and he is spun around. He finds himself trapped between the door and Gao Tian's large body.

Xiao Le shrinks. Those dark eyes…

Why does he feel like he is going to be eaten up? Like a rabbit by a wolf… T.T

"Xiao Le." Gao Tian's voice is low and husky. It sends chills down Xiao Le's body and makes him tremble slightly. 

And Gao Tian catches it. 

"Fuck."

Xiao Le's eyes widen at Gao Tian's curse. 

Before he can even blink, Gao Tian has slammed his lips to Xiao Le's forcefully! He… is being kissed! 

His first kiss! 

Xiao Le whimpers. He does not even dare to push Gao Tian away. And somehow, as those thin cold lips rub against his own roughly, it makes his body feel weird. Feel hotter…

And when he feels something wet lick his lip, he gasps. 

Gao Tian uses this chance to plunge his tongue in and conquer Xiao Le's sweet mouth. 

Xiao Le feels his legs growing weak but before he can slide down, a pair of strong arms hug his waist and he is pulled even closer to Gao Tian's body. Xiao Le's head is getting light again as he finds himself slowly falling into the passionate yet sweet kiss. 

He wants more… 

He starts kissing Gao Tian back. But with his inexperience, he can only move his tongue slowly. But the moment his tongue licks Gao Tian's own, Gao Tian growls and kisses him more aggressively so that their saliva even dribbles down. 

He kisses Xiao Le until he is breathless before pulling back, a thin silvery thread of saliva connects their red, swollen lips. 

Xiao Le stares at Gao Tian in shock as he tries to catch his breath. 

"You…" What is going on?! Why did Gao Tian kiss him?!

"Xiao Le. I have fallen for you." Gao Tian says seriously. 

At that moment, Xiao Le almost faints again! 

"How… how… why, why…what?!" Xiao Le has broken down. "But I am a guy!" 

Xiao Le may support Xiao Gui dating another guy but when it comes to his own relationship, Xiao Le has always pictured himself getting married to a cute girl and having a kid. Not to a guy! 

"Does gender matter?" Gao Tian replies calmly. "I like you for you. And I have never liked anyone before."

Xiao Le is dumbfounded. Gao Tian's question… It makes sense. Does gender matter? 

But… "If you have never liked anyone before, why do you like me?" No one has ever liked Xiao Le before too and Xiao Le has never liked anyone too. So he is really confused now.

"Because you are the first person to put a plaster on me so seriously, take care of me even though you are being bullied yourself, cook for me, peel oranges for me and dry my hair for me." Gao Tian is smiling. 

And that smile, is so handsome, it almost makes Xiao Le melt. 

"But, I will do that for everyone." Xiao Le says honestly. It is in his nature to be kind to everyone. 

Gao Tian's eyes darken. "And that is what infuriates me. I want you to only treat me that way."

"That is impossible! I was taught to be kind to everyone." Xiao Le insists. 

Gao Tian grits his teeth. But he knows it is also impossible for Xiao Le to change overnight. 

"Fine, you can be kind to everyone but you can only dote on me." Gao Tian says stubbornly. "I want to be with you. Only you." He hugs Xiao Le tighter. 

"Wait, wait, wait…" Xiao Le shakes his head. "I… don't know how I feel about you. I have never liked anyone before." He says honestly.

But to his surprise, Gao Tian gives a wide smirk. "Then, I will be the first one you like. I am not letting you go so easily."

And he kisses Xiao Le again. This time much gentler and sweeter. Xiao Le does feel trapped indeed. It seems like he can't escape at all. 

"Humm.." Xiao Le is breathless again when Gao Tian pulls his lips away.

Xiao Le tries his best to regain his senses

"Be with me." Gao Tian says seriously once again. "Or at least try first." 

But Gao Tian really has no plans to let Xiao Le go. The "trying" is just an excuse. He plans to completely capture this loveable idiot for his own. 

"But… I am no one. I am an orphan, just a lowly assistant. You are a CEO." Xiao Le voices another problem. 

"Do you care? If I am just an intern or a CEO?" 

Xiao Le thinks about it. "I don't. To me, you are Ah Ming, I mean…" 

"Then, that is all that matters." Gao Tian smiles. He believes Xiao Le has been genuine since the first time they met. He doesn't care about Gao Tian's status.

"Be with me." Gao Tian repeats. "I don't want you to be alone anymore." His voice is very gentle and sweet. 

Xiao Le is silent for a moment. Those words… He has indeed been alone all this while. Even though he has Xiao Gui but Xiao Gui will eventually find someone else, too. Having someone to love and dote on him after all these years, and remembering how nice it felt being close to Gao Tian, it warms Xiao Le's heart. 

"...Okay."

Gao Tian kisses him again right away. This time, this kiss is fervent and too overbearing. Xiao Le feels like a fish out of water, weak in the CEO's embrace and could only submit.
