Chapter 3: C3. Face changing demon ah!

Xiao Le still feels dizzy and his cheeks are flushed as he goes back down to the Purchasing Department with Gao Tian walking beside him. They kissed for so long! 

Gao Tian hugs Xiao Le's waist in the lift. Xiao Le peeks up to glance at Gao Tian's face. This guy, when God made him, he clearly doted on him. Tall, handsome, smart. 

Xiao Le still can't believe this guy is now his boyfriend! And Xiao Le will never be alone again. That makes him smile again. 

"Why are you smiling?" Gao Tian notices.

"Uh..ah… I just.. feel happy. I have never been in a relationship before." Xiao Le says honestly but shyly. 

Damn, Gao Tian feels like kissing him again, or maybe do more but since this is not the right place, he controls himself. So he just squeezes Xiao Le's waist and smile. "I am happy too."

"Wait, why are you going back to the Purchasing Department again?" Xiao Le suddenly realizes. If he goes back together with Gao Tian, the CEO…how is he going to explain? 

"The meeting has ended. But Xie Min is still there. I need to talk to the new Director." Gao Tian answers.

"New Director?" Xiao Le is shocked. 

Gao Tian smirks. "You will know later."

They arrive on the floor the purchasing department is at. Xiao Le steps away from Gao Tian and Gao Tian frowns.

"Um… if we go in together…"

"I don't plan to hide our relationship. Do you?" Gao Tian asks quietly. His voice sounds a little dangerous… 

"Ah! No!" Xiao Le shakes his head vigorously in alarm. "I am just wondering how to explain to others that I’m dating the CEO…"

Gao Tian, "Just tell them you are dating me. Simple." Then, he pinches Xiao Le's cheek. He has been wanting to do this for a while. "Being kind is one thing. Being a pushover is another, understand?" 

When he acted as an intern, he was very angry Xiao Le got bullied. But he knows it is also because of Xiao Le's personality! 

"Um.." Xiao Le knows that Gao Tian is right because Xiao Gui always scolded him for this too. But he still firmly believes in being nice. "I just think if you are nice to people, they will be nice to you too in the future."

Gao Tian takes a deep breath. With his character, he wants to say some ruthless things to this loveable idiot: You have been kind to so many people but have they been nice to you?! 

But somehow, Gao Tian can't bear to be mean to Xiao Le, especially with those large doe-like eyes. So he decides silently he will just protect this idiot. But he adds before releasing Xiao Le's cheek, "Just think of yourself too sometimes."

Xiao Le only nods stupidly. In his head, he is thinking, it feels nice having one more person look out for him, other than Xiao Gui. 

They walk to the Purchasing Department together and Gao Tian insists on holding Xiao Le's hand. 

The moment they step in, all eyes turn to them instantly, especially on their hands. Some of the ladies are even frowning in jealousy. How did Xiao Le land the CEO?!

Xiao Le freezes in fear. He knows they are judging him…But Gao Tian just sweeps his cold eyes across the room.”I am not paying you guys to stare.” 

Immediately, everyone quickly turned away in panic. But they are all thinking one thing: Hell!!! The CEO finally shows himself and he is like a demon… How did a small rabbit like Xiao Le snag him? 

"Come on." Gao Tian talks to Xiao Le in a gentler tone and tugs him along. He leads Xiao Le to the office for the Purchasing Director. On the way, Xiao Le spots Xiao Gui and Wan Hai looking at him curiously. Xiao Le and Xiao Gui have been best friends long enough to communicate silently with their eyes. 

Xiao Gui: Update me later!! 

Xiao Le: Okay! 

Gao Tian pushes the door open and Xiao Le enters with him. Xiao Le is confused to see the Deputy Director and Xie Min sitting on one of the couches. The Deputy Director looks nervous.Where is their Director? 

Both Xie Min and the Deputy Director immediately stand up at the sight of Gao Tian. 

"CEO." Xie Min greets Gao Tian politely. 

"C.. C…EO.." The Deputy Director is stammering in fright. 

Still holding Xiao Le's hand, Gao Tian walks to another couch and sits down. He makes Xiao Le sit beside him. Xiao Le can only do so quietly. 

"Sit down." Gao Tian orders the other two men while he crosses his legs leisurely and one of his hand is still holding on to Xiao Le's hand. 

They both quickly sit down. Gao Tian turns to Xie Min first. "All cleaned up?" 

"Yes," Xie Min nods. "We will deal with him legally on the funds he embezzled. All the other directors have taken it as a warning." 

"Good."

Xiao Le understands it now! Their Director had embezzled the company's funds! No wonder the CEO chose to reveal himself at such a time..

Gao Tian turns to the Deputy Director. "Congratulations, you have officially been promoted. Unless you have any complaints?" 

"No sir!" The Deputy Director or we can call him the New Director now, quickly shakes his head. "It is an honour!! And I will do a good job."

"You better." Gao Tian smiles dangerously with that soft threat and the New Director shivers. This CEO is just like what the rumors say...ruthless! He would never dare to cross this guy. He pities the old director for even thinking he could get away. 

"And as a new Director, I need you to do some things at hand." Gao Tian adds.

"Definitely, sir!" New Director bobs his head enthusiastically. 

Gao Tian turns to Xiao Le. "I need to speak to them privately. Do you want to go and look for Xiao Gui first?" 

The tone Gao Tian uses is so gentle that the New Director's eyes almost pops!! He knows by now the CEO is completely smitten with his little administrative assistant. Now he regrets bullying Xiao Le before… He can only pray the CEO is magnanimous… (snorts).

Xiao Le nods. Of course he wants to look for his best friend. Gao Tian gives him a smile. 

New Director: God, please save me…

"Okay, I will look for you later." Gao Tian lets go of Xiao Le's hand.  Xiao Le gets up and says, "Excuse me" awkwardly to the New Director and Xie Min before leaving the office quickly. 

Once Xiao Le is gone and the door closes behind him, Gao Tian's smile fades and his gaze is back to icy. 

New Director: This guy is a face-changing demon ah!! 

Gao Tian gives his instructions immediately, "First, transfer that intern, Wan Hai."

The new director is confused and asks stupidly. "Eh… why?" 

"Because he likes what is mine." Gao Tian answers shamelessly. The New Director gulps. Poor Wan Hai too.. 

"...Yes, Sir. I will have HR transfer him immediately."

Gao Tian continues, "Two, stop assigning Xiao Le babysitting duties."

The New Director gulps. "...Yes, sir."

"Three, all those that have been bullying Xiao Le, they will not be allowed any promotion for the next 2 years and no bonuses for this year. After all, their work has been done by someone else." 

The New Director is now sweating. In this case, other than Xiao Gui, it is the entire Purchasing Department…. 

And Gao Tian knows it, that is why he is enforcing such a rule. 

"... Yes, Sir."

Gao Tian adds,"And lastly, review Xiao Le and Xiao Gui's performances. Whatever they have been owed, be it a promotion or bonuses, fix it." 

"....I will get to it immediately." 

"Good. I expect an update by the end of the week." Gao Tian stands up and the New Director and Xie Min quickly follow suit.

Gao Tian exits the office with Xie Min following him, leaving behind a New Director who is about to collapse.

Xiao Gui immediately drags Xiao Le out of the office and to the end of a quiet corridor. 

Xiao Gui asks right away, "So what happened between Ah Ming… I mean, the CEO and you? The way he carried you out was so suave!!" 

"Well…" Xiao Le scratches his head and he tells his best friend everything, including what happened last Friday. 

Xiao Gui is in disbelief and amazed. "Wow. So you are now dating the CEO?" Xiao Le nods. Xiao Gui squeals happily and hugs his best friend, "Finally, you found someone else who can protect you!!" 

Xiao Le smiles as Xiao Gui pulls back, "I am just happy… and feel lucky someone like Gao Tian wants me…"

Xiao Gui scolds him, "Don't say that about yourself. You are just too kind but other than that, Gao Tian is the one who should feel lucky to have you!" 

Then, Xiao Le remembers something. "Oh yes, earlier why did you keep staring at the CEO's assistant, Xie Min? Do you know him?" 

Xiao Gui purses his lips. "He is the one I had a date with. He did not tell me he is the CEO's assistant."

Xiao Le eyes widen. But before he can say anything, a low voice interrupts them. "Xiao Le." Both of them turn to see Gao Tian and Xie Min walking towards them.

Xiao Le does not know why but seeing Gao Tian makes him feel shy again. 

Gao Tian reaches out his hand. "Let's go and have dinner."

"Oh… um." Xiao Le glances at Xiao Gui who is glaring at Xie Min. 

"It is okay, Xiao Le. You can go. I need to talk to him anyway." Xiao Gui says quietly. 

Xiao Le has no choice but to nod and takes Gao Tian's hand. Before Gao Tian leads Xiao Le away, he says to Xie Min. "You two can get off work early too."

"Thank you, CEO." Xie Min bows his head slightly to his boss. 

After Gao Tian and Xiao Le walks away, Xie Min turns to face a furious Xiao Gui.
