The heart in his chest beating out. In the corner, his sword sat there waiting for him to take her back. It trembled bodily enough for him to feel it from the distance. Sweat rolled down his face causing him to sit up.
"Aylin!" Lian shouted.
Rolling to his feet he ran to his sword sitting out before him only to be met by the tiny legs of Effie dunking down to meet him face to face.
"You still want her after all this time?" Effie asked.
"How did you capture her?!" Lian yelled.
"I know her name…she is mine alone now." She smirked.
"Aylin…please don't do anything to her." He begged.
"That is why you will obey me." Effie smiled.
"Where are Reaper and the rest?"
"Even if I knew I wouldn't tell you…"
He couldn't tell if that was actually a threat or not or if she actually had no real idea what happened to them. His ears opened to the sound of a drone dripping noise smacking against the already bad wood in this threadbare home.
A trail of blood was seen near the edge of the door leading out. Darting to his feet he raced out to follow the path being made to traverse the small hallway to hear knocking in the room over.
"Don't!" Effie shouted.
"You aren't my sword!" Lian yelled back.
Thrusting with all his might into the door as the doorknob wasn't willing to turn for him. He sprints back into the room for Effie to bash into him knocking Aylin over and pulling back her fist as Lian caught it kicking her off with his feet and reaching for his weapon.
She quickly stretched to move it further away from Lian's hands. The hate on her face was apparent that she really wanted nothing to do with Aylin in her life instantly regretting allowing the blade to stay in the room.
Putting all her weight down on his body. She hunched over contorting. Her stomach, fingers, arms, and legs grew longer in an attempt to force him down to the ground. Digging her nails into his hands he cried out.
"Everyone will die, but you Lian!" Effie screamed.
Pressing his hand against his chest he could see a ball of light crawl from his digits. A warmth that came with the vision of his father's smile.
She was repelled by being knocked against the wall. Her skin burned to curl away to a bleeding mess as chunks of skin falling.
"What are you.." Lian whispered.
Struggling to his feet he strained to clutch Aylin with his own hands. Effie howled in pain dipping down to pick Lian up by the collar of his shirt gasping for air. His legs punt her away as fear welled inside him.
He recalled in shows when people spoke of having they need everything inside of them. Her lower jaw lowered displaying fangs upon fangs like that of a shark causing Lian to scream out hitting her with his foot despite how strong she was.
The metal of Aylin's blade shivered against the rotted wood. She was trying to free herself from hearing Lian distressing her.
"Please only a touch!" Aylin begged.
"AYLIN!" Lian shouted.
Effie couldn't manage to contain him swinging him against the wall. The device on his back melting into his skin started to blaze and started up being knocked so hard it made his hands and legs numb.
Lian squirmed little by little watching his weapon vibrate. One eye opened concentrating on getting a hold of Aylin. The door slammed open by Tremain shocked by the sight only to have Ares jump in whipping Effie.
"What the fuck is wrong with you woman?" Ares shouted.

Gemma charged helping Lian sit up. He was unmoving more a few moments catching his breath.
"Lian, are you okay?" Gemma asked.
"My fingers and legs are numb…"
Lifting his shirt she quickly noticed the equipment had been severely damaged. Boosting the kid in her arms he accepted temporarily in this new state of pain.
"You will be punished, Effie!" Tremain scolded.
Hours later in the impromptu medical room, she had Lian lying down on his stomach examining and working on the wires.
"Can you feel anything?" She questioned.
He only nodded his head back and forth. He was extremely tired from the fight he and Effie had. Even more, scared realizing she truly was not human.
"If you are in pain you need to tell me."
His mind was elsewhere. Somewhere other than in a dingy hobble in the middle of nowhere being taught by what he thinks are now demons who spirited him away.
"Do…you have Reaper?" Lian asked.
She paused at first listening to his question. Ares didn't expect that to happen or him to boldly question what was happening.
"If we did why do you care?" She inquired.
"Because I belong with him…"
"You belong here, Lian."
"If that was so then why am I so restricted here?"
"Lian…you will be free once you are done training." She smiled.
He knew the answer he would acquire would be nothing of interest to him. She would do and say anything to just calm his mind.
"Is that really true?" He spouted.
"It is very true. Please cheer up, Lian…"
Ares could sense how tired he was of the house and hardly ever going outside. Effie's outrage she knew did nothing to help him in the end. He felt like a prisoner in this house the more days he spends here.
"How can I cheer up?" Lian mumbled.
The feelings of the device's mechanical whirrs played on his nerves. He suddenly grasped the blankets in pain.
"That stings!" Lian cried out.
She stopped tugging a moment reversing. She dropped the tools back on the tray afterward taking a washcloth and wiping away blood draining down both sides of his back.
"I need to get the anesthetic, be right back."
He could hear her heels tapping on the floor to the exit. He only laid there wondering how long he would suffer like this.
