Chapter Six

The doors opened…

Elsie looked up, however to her disappointment, the one thing she yearned for, the sun, was not there, instead in its place was a massive red-looking roof.

This was the roof that separated the underworld from the overworld, an impenetrable wall separating the two worlds for better or worse.

“We don’t have time to look about, hurry we need to find someplace to lay down!” jack said, however, where could they go?

They were in the middle of the city, with countless eyes of different creatures, small and big staring up at them.

(is this it?) jack thought, even though he had made it past the guards and had gotten out of the palace, all the demons here could take him.

However,

Surprisingly. None of them moved, no that was not right, the different types of monsters turned away in fear and started walking away. Why was this?

“All right, let’s go!” Elsie said while she began to walk down the stairs holding jack up.

(Ah) Jack suddenly remembered.

Who in the underworld dare attack the princess, but then again, being locked up in the palace for most of her life, how did they know it was her? Most of them probably had never seen her face.

Was it possible that even maids and butlers would get this type of treatment if they walked out of hell’s palace?

Jack’s head clicked. (Everyone coming in or out of this place are extremely important people) who would dare look at them, never mind attack them even if they were injured?

“Jack hurry!” Elsie called out once again to Jack who was standing in a daze. However being jolted back to reality and forced to remember the perilous danger he was in, he suddenly got his second wind and pushed through the pain with Elsie to find a safe spot to hide.

One would think that even in the biggest street in the underworld, it would still be a depressing and gloomy-red-ish place, however, you would be mistaken. Besides the red-ish dust like stuff in the air.

Walking through the endless and bustling streets of the capital, one could see life in many different forms.

From young children of different races playing together, to all kinds of trade filled by the conversations of the buyers and sellers.

(This was no different from a normal human city.) Jack thought to himself, well although he had been through this place before when he tried to sneak into the palace, he never actually took in the scenery.

He decided to take a glance at Elsie who was still supporting him.

She was completely in a world of her own, her eyes were glistening at all the new things that she was experiencing for the first time, she looked like a child looking at the endless isles in the toy shop.

Jack smiled slightly, he had seen her shy, scared, and determined, however, this was his first time seeing her like this.

It made him forget about everything that had happened.

However, he was soon brought back to reality when he bumped into something.

He looked up, it was not something, however, someone. A huge figure with a sprout nose and tusks, its overly large body (One could say fat.) with its brown hide.

It looked like a massive, human-looking hog.

“Eh? What’s tis little shrimp runnin into me fur? Oh, yer’ injured, haha, poor little insec’ bow down teh’ me and apologize, ill forgive ye”

One could tell by listening to such a unique-looking individual, that they lacked basic education and were more on the stupid side.

However down in the underworld, it didn’t matter if you were stupid, strength ruled supreme.

And although Jack had strength, at the moment, he was nothing but a walking corpse.

The hog suddenly looked to Elsie, who shivered.

“Oh, ehehe, leave the gur’l wit ye aswell, ill be Havin sum fuhn with her tonight.” Hideous words were directed at the unknowing princess, she had never been properly taught about these kinds of dangers, however, she knew that the hog was not a good person, so she instinctively backed away from his creepy grip.

“Don’t you dare lay your grubby hands on her, do you have any idea who she is, you pig?” Jack said although he was pathetically almost falling on the floor due to immense blood loss.

“Water you say me shrimp? Die!” the hog swung his massive fist towards Jack, although it was extremely slow, Jack was unable to dodge and was ready to take the hit.

He braced himself and closed his eyes, after that he would get back up and aim for the pig’s unaware back as he tried to grab Elsie.

However he didn’t feel any fist hit him, moreover, he heard a scream and a crash.

Jack opened his eyes, and to his surprise, the hog was laying on the floor unconscious.

“Don’t mess with me or jack! Or ill hit you again!” Elsie said before running towards the jack.

The spectators were in awe, such a young girl was this strong? Who was she?

However none of them knew, that this little girl was the future leader of the entire underworld, Satan’s daughter.

“Jack are you all right?” Elsie asked, however, it was clear that he was not. Jack’s consciousness began to fade as the last thing he saw was Elsie’s Panicked face.

A bright light? No that wouldn’t be right, a red light shone through Jack’s eyes as he slowly awoke from a bed. An unknown bed, an unfamiliar place, and an unfamiliar comfort.

“Where’s Elsie!?” Jack’s first thought strung through his mind as he got up and rushed out of the room that he had woken up in, however when he rushed into the next, he was surprised to see a familiar scene, it was almost like a normal house, however, what was normal?.

And then a smell filled his nose.

(What is this smell?) it felt so nostalgic, it felt like home. Jack breathed in.

“Jack, you’re finally awake?

Elsie’s voice rang out, while Jack turned his head towards her, she was holding a ladle stirring some soup, while an old woman was cutting up some vegetables.

(what the hell, where is this?) Jack thought to himself.
